Which 'make' are you refering to?
cd depends
make

or ./configure
make?

Did you modify this line to include your triplet name?

./configure --prefix=`pwd`/depends/

like: ./configure --prefix=`pwd`/depends/x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu

If you want to build for windows, best is to first build for linux then do it for windows.

If you want come chat in IRC2P channel #anoncoin

You can build the Develop version commit 6e80477 https://wiki.anoncoin.net/How_to_build_Anoncoin_develop

I have tried this version. Still no luck. I am using http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop/create-a-usb-stick-on-windows Ubuntu running from USB as I want to be able to cold store my coins. The error message I get is when I try to use the command 'make' or 'make clean'. The error message is "make *** No targets specified and no makefile found." This is the problem with all my attempted installs. The problem arises when trying to 'make'

I'm not deviating from the commands. Everything works till I get to the command "make". Do you have any other ideas please?

I haven't kept up to speed on Anoncoin since the crash around November 2014.  So it's been awhile!

If possible could someone fill me in on what's been going on with Anoncoin or where I could find development updates and future plans? That would be great thank you! Last I knew we had the RSA UFOs generated and work on implementing zerocoin was started but not finished by gnosis.  Also, the devs were trying to fix the difficulty algorithm and some issues with sending transactions.

Thanks!

Just dropping this link here regarding OB1. I found it interesting that they elected to forego TOR but left the door open for I2p usage and applications. Interesting... /taps foot patiently waiting

Any updates on plans to switch to multi-algo (like Myriad)? I would prefer to see it before the zerocoin/zcash hard fork, just because the multi-PoW switch could be completed within a smaller timeframe, and it would be easier to make a PoW change while the coin is still small.

Hi

I have tried 3 methods of getting the wallet working to no avail.
Tried
1) Installing from https://launchpad.net/~anoncoin/+archive/ubuntu/anoncoin (anoncoin-qt installs but no executable is available to click on)
2) Cloning from github using the terminal (The last command 'qmake' and 'make' did not work @no such file..)
3) Using qt creator to create an executable
error: /home/ubuntu/Downloads/anoncoin-master/src/allocators.h:10: error: boost/thread/mutex.hpp: No such file or directory
                #include

Any help would be appreciated. I am a novice so struggling with the Ubuntu OS setup. Once I get it working I will create a video tutorial for lemons like myself.

Please keep it simple - for an amateur

Thanks

Offer escrow, receive negative trust
Please visit https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1388584.new#new in order to support the book on Anoncoin I am writing.  Help from the community is warmly welcome.

I don't understand.

Why should I pay ten or twenty dollars for a book, whose contents are filled with all the information I can find here, for free?  Not to mention, it'd be outdated almost immediately ahhhh you sly dog - now I understand why only 'the first year' is covered  Wink

But still, I'm looking through your dogecoin book & seeing that almost all the content is what you'd typically see upon googling 'dogecoin'

...and wait a sec, the cover says 'history of the first year' but there are multiple years documented! I TAKE BACK MY STRIKETHROUGH!

(I'm not bashing you as a writer by any means, as I have my own journalistic outlets...but due to the nature of the subject matter that I cover, I've never attempted to sell the information I release/make money through ads, etc.)

Just can't wrap my head around this one

Is the plan still to implement zerocoin, or now wait for zcash and implement their version of zerocash without bs 10-20% dev skim?

My wallet is using clear network.

Start using I2P and you will have many more peers to connect to.

@CryptoOz
I do not own any ANC but like 4 things about it:

1. Great name
2. Fair PoW launch in 2013
3. I2P integration
4. Listing on a Chinese exchange

How does Anoncoin differentiates from Verge, BATA, Monero?

Verge (formely Dogecoindark) offers I2P integration. I am not sure what the future plans are after the recent branding, but I see some community members talk about seeking listings on more exchanges.

I am not familiar with BATA but their page says "TOR & i2P integration are optional"

Monero offers unlinkable transactions with CryptoNote and has the best privacy tech available (Ring Signatures + Confidential Transaction) in testnet and will integrate I2P once the C++ (instead of Java) router is ready.

Bata currently offers TOR and I2P nodes, meaning you can use them specifically for private transactions, but Bata also runs normal clearnet nodes.

Well at the end it is about who stays arround. Lots of altcoins with nice features. Anoncoin is still arround after years. I remember it was 8 dollars and Meeh was in IRC all the time. After some devs left i wondered where it would go. Left crypto for a year and  seems some people stepped up and it still is alife. No zerocoin yet tough ;-)

Besides this most recent wallet release and client update, can you still use the older wallet or do you NEED to upgrade. Just wondering.

The version above is a develop version. It is not the master release. The version above is very similar to the following HARDFORK release A. You can help us simply by running it and reporting bugs to us.

As previously discussed, pretty soon, we will do an HARDFORK to Release A : Anoncoin Core 0.9.6.9

The new release will include:

- An upgraded to bitcoin 0.10.99 code
- Many excellent improvements such as for instance header-first synchronisation, leading to much quicker I2P synchronisation and block download
- Deterministic fork selection
- A rewritten communication protocol (I2P and clearnet)
- No more using IRC for synching peers
- Anoncoin's test network (testnet) and regression test mode (regtest) available
- A new Kimoto Gravity Well v 2.0 using curves that is much quicker to calculate (it will be useful only for blocks before the hardfork and for first synching as KGW will be obsoleted by PID)
- A second new innovative difficulty algo "GroundRod RetargetPID" using a PID (Proportional - Integral - Derivative) controller, that will be enforced as the new difficulty retargetting system
- Real hashes calculation and not pseudo difficulty (we will be the only Scrypt coin to use true hashes in calculus of difficulty)
- Multisig Anoncoin address
- An improved mining through I2P only, to go forward a fully I2P darknet coin
- Themes support (currently for Win32, OS-X and linux)
- SAM support ported to 0.10.99 and working with both Java and C++ implementation of I2P (Orignal's i2pd, LibI2Pd)
- New I2P and DNS seednodes
- Headless building with toolchain
- Bug fixes

This hardfork will not include:
- Anci2pd: Anoncoin embedded with i2pd c++ router (LibI2Pd)
- Zerocoin
- Merge mining and multi-POW

All those will be separate releases that will be done after this hardfork is completed. In short the upcoming HARDFORK release will upgrade all the old core code from 8.5.6 to the newest version 9.6.9 (from bitcoin 0.10.99). The network shall then be more healthy and ready for future upgrades to anci2pd, zerocoin and merge mining/multi POW.

Right now you can still use 8.5.6 or this 9.6.9 version. The community will be updated on the date of the soon to be released HARDFORK version, this will be a mandatory upgrade, we will give some time for people to switch of version though. The version above and the 8.5.6 will be obsolete when the final master HARDFORK version will be released and enforced.
