so, georgem, they have completely changed their mind since your message here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.4389355

They said then that the week x shipping was from the MONDAY. Not the Friday.

Come on BitMine - stop changing the rules.

I am awaiting a reply to an email as well, for my "January Week 5" order.

Exactly. The wishy washy language they apply is now used against us.

Come on people, if we thought that we will get free presents from bitmine.ch we were completely fooled.

The unclear language means that you will always have to assume the worst case for yourself, NOT the best.

 Grin

PS, Don't forget I am just repeating what this poor support guy tells me. He is under a lot of stress, and gets all the flak, and it's him who has to force his boss to finally come clean and tell it like it is. So I hope that everything is clearer now.
But still, guys, the written language at bitmine.ch is STILL deliberately in an unclear form.

I have a rig on order that had a week 5 Jan delivery....(snip)

The CCP will be triggered for your order after the 10 of February

sorry what? due for delivery on 5th Jan, consumer protection now begins 10th of Feb. already a month late and they are trying to say you are not covered by any % increase yet.

no..that's not how consumer protection works. not by their terms even

week 5 of January (27th - 31th of January), not 5th of January. Customer protection plan: 1) Shipment can be late up to a maximum of 10 days from the agreed shipment date. So it' correct if the CCP will be triggered from 11th of February.

oh thanks. I misread as 5th January

I also ordered from bitmine.ch and I'm not happy with their communication-policy at all. At least I have an "agreed shipment date". Since I am a Swiss Citizen with affiliation to the law-business, I will pull the law-trigger as soon as I'm out of the protection-plan, if bitmine.ch is not immediatly refunding +10%. At the moment, I don't have any reasons to beliefe that they won't adhear to their promises. Don't bother contacting me if your out of the protection-plan and bitmine.ch is not willing to refund.

How and when did you get your "agreed shipment date", and is it an exact day?

Yes it is, contrary to what I and other people previously were told or believed, the exact day is calculated like this:

You have to take the last "working day" of the week. It's often friday, but never saturday/sunday. IT'S NEVER A MONDAY like I and other people have often believed...

You take this friday and add 10 additional days. That's the day you get when CPP is triggered.

But now the fun doesn't really start yet. If you thought that now you are already owed 10% hashing power you are wrong.

There have to pass another FULL 10 days for you to get 10% additional power.

So in fact, although CPP starts to trigger, you need the CPP to be active for 10 days to have 10% plus bonus.
If CPP is active for 9 days, you still get nothing. If CPP is active for 19 days, you still get only 10%.

What that does mean is that bitmine has a full 20 days plus the shipping week, making it nearly a whole month time they can be late without you recieving ANY COMPENSATION AT ALL.

In my last phone with bitmine support I had this calculated and confirmed in 2 languages (english, greek) for like 10 times so as to be sure everything was absolutely made clear and mathematically exact.

Also, the thing about order/device. You only get the bonus for the whole order, NOT for every single device.
If your order has two devices, they will in most cases only add the bonus to one device.

(Example: you ordered a 400 and a 500 Ghs device. You get 10% bonus. That would mean you get 90 Ghs bonus. So instead of 900 total, you get 990 total. So in this case they will only add a 200 Ghs modul to the coindesk. They will always take the smallest unit the can. Obviously.)

I am sorry for any misunderstanding I might have caused in a previous post here in this thread, but I was just repeating what I was told by the support.

I hope that everything is cleared up now. But I have to admit that I have a bad feeling with all this uncertainty.
So take everything with a grain of salt, people, I don't know WHAT to believe anymore.
But atleast I think I understood their CPP accuratly now. But it took a while for them to come out with exact dates (and it's just one guy from their support who told me that.)... until now everything was wishy washy, and there website STILL doesn't talk about those things in a clear language.

EDIT: I updated all previous wrong posts of mine to have a link to this post here, so as to not fool any new customers who read this thread.

... under Swisslaw, consumer are protected very well.

I agree  Grin

This was the biggest selling point for us as well. It didnt matter the Price/TH was a little higher than the others but the possibilty to apply Swiss law if shit hits the fan.

My post yesterday was unclear, sorry for that (was tired and my english isn't the best).

I have an I mail where they say it'll be shipped in a certain week. According to swiss law, this is e delivery date, otherwise the customer-protection-plan wouldn't make any sense. 61 days after the mentioned week, they are refunding +10%. Since I am a private person and bitmine is a company (http://ti.powernet.ch/webservices/inet/HRG/HRG.asmx/getHRGHTML?chnr=5013017896&amt=501&toBeModified=0&validOnly=0&lang=1&sort=0), I am protected by the "consumer protection act" which is mainly compelling law. For exampel: Bitmine.ch mentiones in 9.7 of their ToS, that the adjudication court will be in Bellinzona. Since (for me) it is am P2B contract, this venue is meaningless  (Art. 32 Swiss Civil Procedure Code: The following persons may not waive the jurisdiction provided for in Articles 32 to 34, whether in by advance agreement or by entering appearance: a. the consumer etc.). No swiss court will help them if they say they never gave out any deliverydates but given out such a customer-protection-plan.  What I want to sasywith this is, that under Swisslaw, consumer are protected very well.

Hmm, so Bitmine can design a custom ATX sized 3kW ATX PSU just like that while dozens and dozens of power supply companies all around the world can't? Something's fishy about this.

No need to speculate about that. What we use when testing locally in the Bitmine labs is a meanwell 3kW PSU - the wall of PSUs in the picture posted is exactly that.

Which means, you have to use a 16A socket?
The standart has only 10A or 13A.

It will probably have more than one C13 input?

for wires up to 1,5 mm2 you can use c13 up to c16. 13 ampere should be good for 3200 Watt.  and the "c" is enough for the max. 60 A current, when you turn the machine on.

for being sure its not turning off the machine after 3 hour running in summer, you should consider to invest 10 euro for a c16, when you have a c13 on your circuit, without the need of re-wiring the house.

16A equipment like UPS systems and such (PDU, ...) usually have a C20 connector, which is rated at 16A

I would not use 2 C13 plugs in parallel

Do the boards not take 12V input?

Yes, why? RSP-3000-12. Or do you refer to the rated 2400W for 12V?

I have a rig on order that had a week 5 Jan delivery.  Sent a quick email asking for update and below is what I received.  With a little bit of luck I might actually get this thing in the next few weeks.  Not sure if I will make BTC break even or not but if I actually get it and it mines as advertised I won't complain!

Dear Mr.xxxxxxxxxxx,
The production of the Rig shall start in the next 10 days,
as soon as I have precise information I will let you know.
Your position in the queue is 4xx.
The CCP will be triggered for your order after the 10 of February(after the first 10 days, for every 10 days you will receive a 10% of your orders hashing power).
Thank you for your understanding.

So it's more of an overclocking issue. Ofcourse you can reach the 2.8 TH, but you would have to have really excellent cooling conditions, and perfect current delievering the 3 kW.

What power supply are they using?

Must be a custom one (ATX sized) as in the pics of the prototype only a single PSU will fit & there are no 3kw ATX PSU out there.

Hmm, so Bitmine can design a custom ATX sized 3kW ATX PSU just like that while dozens and dozens of power supply companies all around the world can't? Something's fishy about this.

Either they will

- tell you at the end it's a smaller one (1100W etc)
- you have to use two smaller ones
- you have to put a 3kW server PSU on the outside
- or it's one of them industrial 3kW power supplies (of which I only know a few with 12V)
- the prototype picture are not actually what they are shipping
- or they are not using 12V but 24V or 48V, at the cost of efficiency of their DC2DC module
- etc, or a combination of these

Or maybe they didn't realize the problem yet ;-)

Either way, I predict this to be a topic in the future.
