Noob here. I have a new/used Asus on Windows 7. Trying to ruin cgminer-nogpu. Plain Cgminer won't run.
cgminer gives me an error saying:
"The program can't start because OpenCL.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."
When I run cgminer-nogpu it says:
I tried to follow all the other thread's instructions. All the read me files. Some things didn't make any sense to me, couldn't do what they were saying. What does all this mean above? Obviously I need to install a driver or fix something. What should I do? Can someone give me a user friendly instructions link? Thanks!!

Thanks for that. It's hard to know if it's crashing in libusb due to a libusb bug or we're calling a libusb function with invalid parameters. I'm inclined to always blame our code first to keep looking for a bug since our code is under very heavy development. We're revamping that section of code somewhat and hopefully indirectly address it. This problem occurs stably on three computers at intervals of approximately 15 minutes.

P2pool does not equal merged mining, it's an option. Slush used to give nmc. I've moved to p2pool when he stopped.

You should merged mine btc, nmc, ixc and dvc.
You can only do that with p2pool right?

True. That's not what I meant. Fortunately bitminter does BTC and NMC.. and IXC is worthless and DVC is completely worthless.

Has anyone got v3.2 to correctly detect ASICminer USBs on Windows? Keeps asking for "AMU driver" even though UART BRidge COM driver is installed and USBs are listed under COMP Ports. Also 3.1.1 doesn't seem to work with COM ports higher then 9, no matter what format I use in BAT file it just says failed to open port.
Here is my .bat
cgminer-nogpu -o http://pit.deepbit.net:8332 -u someuser -p somepassword --icarus-options 115200:1:1 --icarus-timing 3.0=100 -S COM3 -S COM4 -S COM5 -S COM6 -S COM7 -S COM8 -S COM9
if i try "-S COM10" or any other higher ports I get: Icarus detect: Failed to open PORT 10
I gave up and started using BitMinter

Use -S \\.\COM10 on the command line or "scan-serial" : [ "icarus:\\\\.\\COM10"] in the config file
3.2.0 uses direct USB so you have to set that up, 3.1.1 uses silabs USB/COM driver. 3.2.0 has issues. So use 3.1.1, or use bfgminer.
ok great, -S \\.\COM10 seems to work.

Is there any way of disabling cashing of shares on disconnect?
with "--scrypt" Cgminer keeps crashing on internet or pool disconects.
changed mobo, GPU's,ram,risers,PSU's . it allways happens on some locations.
no problems on SHA.
using proxy did not helped.

Just to check, on Linux, is 3.2.0 working fine? (Using 1 Ztex, 2 BFL FPGA and a bunch of ASICMINER USB sticks)
Or should I stick on the previous version?
If it initialises the AMU (Asicminer USB Block Erupters) correctly, then yes go with it.Or should I stick on the previous version?
If not, on linux, you simply need to unplug and re-plug in your USB devices before you start 3.1.1
(and use --icarus-timing 3.0=100 --icarus-options 115200:1:1 + the -S device selections)
-S auto on 3.1.1 sufficient? (Saw some post of people listing every single usb device)
-S auto didn't work, had to list all /dev/ttyUSBx devices to get it to work
But, it's working

well, as i wrote some pages before, i decided to make an i386 version by compiling from source (version 3.1.1). I made the binary and i can execute it with -h for example. But other than that, when i give ./cgminer it does nothing at all. I tried with the asic usb's on and giving the appropriate paremeters -o -u -p -S /dev/ttyUSB1 but it returned nothing. I tried with sudo but nothing. What seems strange to me is that it returns no message as error, so as to try to fix it. Ideas? Thanks.
