Demand is faster then anyone can keep up with.  We're always investing in anything we can do to improve your experience and we hope you will understand that such improvements can't all happen overnight.

Demand IS faster than anyone can keep up with.  That's why your system is automated.  In fact it's right in the name and the single biggest fact touted in all of the press about Bitinstant.  The system used to be automated and in fact still is every so often when you have money.  So why are these issues so pervasive if Bitinstant isn't a Ponzi scheme?  It's a very simple matter: confirm customer money received, execute corresponding trade/deposit for customer.  Zipzap's API isn't having problems, and I have contacted them and they say their API hasn't changed in months.  That means that you should have no problem automating everything since you have no money problems, as Charlie repeatedly says.  So why do these issues exist?

BitInstant provides a great deal of options.  Each of these options involves multiple companies moving funds around to complete your order.  If there is one issue in the chain then it may result in an issue.  These issues require human intervention to fix which can take time.  We are not just selling coin to a guy with cash hand to hand.  Our systems are much more complex.  Thanks for your inquiry.  Smiley

I placed an order (dwolla -> bitinstant -> mtgox) and my money has not shown up. I submitted a help ticket over 24 hours ago, and I have not received any followup other than the automated email.

Order ID: 7b3b3041-c60a-406d-b738-42d6c62f0246

All support issues will take a bit of time to solve as we work thru the back log.  Please be patient.  Thanks!

Morning everyone!

I made a cash deposit to GOX this morning thru BitInstant.  It went thru perfectly.  The system is working great.

Now let's solve some back logged issues!!!

 Cool

Me too Charlie, ZipZapp'ed a payment at around 10:30 AM EST this morning to BTC address but no trace of anything on BitInstant. Sad Did I just miss the "working great" cutoff? (just kidding, just kidding Smiley )

Here's the info, I'm sure you're sick of looking at these lines:

Thanks for anything you can do Charlie!

I took a look at your order ID(not BI support) but yours is in the status mine is in. I think if the merchant they process BTC through is MtGOX it can take a while as they release theirs to the blockchain in batches, if it remember correctly)

Oops, I meant BlockChain not BitInstant, but great to hear I'm not the only one who's status is "complete" and "Order executed - funds deposited". Charlie, I think this wording needs to be changed!

Ursay,

You haven't quit yet?  Props.  I'm still waiting on 0.39 bitcoins.  My initial deposit went through (4/8 list) but the bitcoin adjustment for price changes during the waiting period has not yet registered (4/10 list).  Thanks.

I did essentially the same thing as the poster above last Wednesday in two separate MoneyGram orders (due to ZipZap only accepting $500 at a time) amounting to around $550. As I walked out of the place I performed the transactions, I already received two BitInstant emails saying the money was automatically deposited into my account. Cool!

Not... Week later, I have no money. I confirmed that the Mt. Gox account number that I submitted for my transactions is indeed my correct number, which puzzles me, as BitInstant shows the transaction as completed but my account reads $0.00. I have used BitInstant's "Live Chat" (LOL) interface three times and supplied Order IDs in each one and received absolutely NO RESPONSE at ANY point, including to the fourth (and maybe even fifth?) that I sent to the separate [email protected] address.

I'm reluctant to post all my details in public view in this thread, so I hope that rather somebody official from BitInstant will help me either externally or assure me that my details are of no privacy consequence. I really hope someone can help me, because BitInstant seems like a reputable company! But god, I have definitely had a bad experience...

I had used Moneygram last week on March 3rd to submit funds through Bitinstant into a Bitcoin address but it was accidentally sent to one of my other Bitcoin addresses which I have no private key for. I had this Bitcoin address generated from Bitaddress.org. I had realized this on the same day that the money was submitted but I immediately emailed Bitinstant and even did the chat option on your website and I have gotten no response. I been emailing Bitinstant and leaving voice messages and still no response.

I basically have money on my Bitcoin address which is useless and I want to see if the transaction could be reverse or the money refunded since the Bitcoin address basically belongs to me.

Here is my info:

For users wanting to open new support tickets...

bitinstant.com/contact

I am still looking into issues that were previously logging on my dated support lists as I slowly integrate into the new support system with the other CS agents.

For users that have logged issues with me regarding execution price, I have been told that someone is working on those issues today so you may see some more coins soon!  Smiley

thanks URSAY, great to hear Smiley

URSAY - Just a quick question. I know things are crazy right now but I noticed on the bitinstant site that PayPal isn't an option anymore (only mtgox and bitcoin address?) and was wondering if PayPal will be added back in the near future? I'll be having some more funds I want to get off MtGox once they start allowing coupon codes again and was hoping to use BitInstant again.

Yes that feature will return soon!  Check back!  Cheesy

Buyer Beware

Bitcoin bubble may have burst

The price of Bitcoins has plunged more than 75% in the past two days, sparking a rush of activity that overwhelmed trading platforms and suggested the bubble in the virtual currency has burst.
Bitcoins were down to $61.11 as of 9 a.m. ET Friday. Prices reached as high as $266 per Bitcoin around 7:30 a.m. ET Wednesday. But the price started to fall through the rest of day and Thursday morning.
At about 10 a.m. ET Thursday, trading was halted on Mt.Gox, a Japan-based exchange that claims to handle 80% of Bitcoin trade worldwide. The price at that time was already at about $123, down more than 50% from the peak.
Mt.Gox issued a statement Friday attributing both the pre-halt price fall and the halt in trading to the rush of new customers trying to trade in the electronic currency.
"The rather astonishing amount of new accounts opened in the last few days...made a huge impact on the overall system that started to lag," the exchange said. "As expected in such situations, people started to panic, started to sell Bitcoin in mass...resulting in an increase of trade that ultimately froze the trade engine."
The exchange said the shutdown was different from the cyber attacks that hit it and other Bitcoin sites earlier this month.
During the Mt.Gox trading halt, trading continued on some smaller Bitcoin markets, and the price fell sharply. When trading resumed on Mt.Gox about 10 p.m. ET, the price quickly plunged as low as $69.45, ricocheted back up to $135.69, then started to fall again. All the new volume flooding back to Mt.Gox caused another 2-hour halt in trading.
When trading resumed again, it started a less volatile sell-off to the $61.11 price.
Societe Generale currency analyst Sebastien Galy said that even if the bubble has burst for Bitcoins, it doesn't mean it won't have additional rallies in the future.
"Its trading is typical of a bubble," he said. "But there are still people who believe in it. You can't say we're going to zero tomorrow. Even assets that have no underlying value have people willing to trade in it."
Galy points out that even the prices Friday morning were highly inflated from historical valuations. In mid-March a Bitcoin was worth only $47. He said what's so unusual about the Bitcoin bubble is how quickly it formed and how fast it may now disappear.
Bitcoin is a four-year-old digital currency developed by a hacker who still remains anonymous. It's designed to allow worldwide payments with extremely low processing costs. Galy said the wild rise in price moves in recent weeks undermines Bitcoin's original purpose.
"If their intent was to have a means of exchange, then they failed spectacularly," he said. "If we go back to values that are more normal, then the original thought process behind it can take hold again."

That is why I rushed to buy today. Only Bitinstant again has spoiled it for me. If they honor their prices like they say they do then there could be light at the end of the tunnel because today I ordered when it was $77 according to mtGox (to me this is a good deal), and over a week ago I ordered when it was still under $120, I don't remember exactly what the figure was but it was over $100 but under $120. Either way these are good deals.

So according to the delivery time there is a guaranteed delivery time of 1 day. I'll see what happens in 24 hours. I'm just posting it here because usually when it works it's instantaneous and when it doesn't work it doesn't work at all.

480/77=6.2BTC owed.

And I don't even know how much BTC I'm owed from weeks ago because I don't remember the prices from back then.
