That's excellent news.

We're very happy to be a part of this project. We think it's definitely one for the future.

I've been running the bitcoin core 12.0 on bananapi pro for several weeks now - its great!

every other day or so the bitcoin client crashes and I have to manually restart it.   Is there a way to setup a script to monitor whether bitcoind is running and if not, re-spawn it?

separately,  can you post instructions on how to upgrade to 0.12.1 client?

thanks!

Very glad to hear, there are some tips on past pages,
like cron to purge ram every X time or bitcoin.conf dbcache parameter,
even so, will add them to the TUTORIALS over git and later on to the website, please check them now and then for updates

also, you can use this method for the 0.12.1 upgrade:
https://github.com/okcashpro/ROKOS-OK-Bitcoin-Fullnode/blob/master/tutorials/Update%20Bitcoin%20Client-Node%20in%20ROKOS/How%20to%20Update%20Bitcoin%20client-node%20-%20full%20compilation.txt

Thanks for your feedback and support.

Awesome Matthias, glad the community likes and thanks for your feedback!

The new coming version got fully rewritten/redone New base more directly into debian jessie, new 1 click installs for software, and the
release will work on Raspberry Pi zero, Pi 2 and Pi 3 alike and other things like OB and the new cryptocurrencies.

It will come with a root and a pi user account to increase its security, (the pi/root shared account from raspbian and previous ROKOS is not the best way to set up the accounts for security) hence it now comes with independent accounts for configurations(root) and use(pi user), among other surprises, should be released in the coming week or days.

great work, thank you, i just managed to take the time, to buy one version 2 one a version 3 Rasperry and have already set up the PI2.
Even compiling our new Europecoin wallet was smooth and easy.
Looking forward the future with this project, especially for the coming ioT possibilities.
And i already began to organize the production, of a turnkey ready device for user-convenience.

have fun
Matthias

I have a kernel panic on qemu.
can anyone help me with a working kernel for V5 as I already tried all those present in internet.
I'm sure you already know you have to compile kernel on/for your target machine...
Not much help here you have not specified target, compiler, distribution, kernel version, source(s) ...

qemu is a virtual machine. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QEMU) even it's full hardware emulation (in contrast t paravirtualisation) you need a special kernel for it.

Regards

Nice stuff! Maybe built-in support for USB miners too?

Tech question: would there be any advantage to using a little USB ASIC to do the SHA-256 hash function instead of the processor with staking wallets, leaving the CPU available for other things? Or is that not possible or more trouble than it's worth?

Hi, miners are supported, there is a guide some pages back,
will continue to add all the tuts to the github in the coming days after the new coming releases
next ROKOS flavors in the next week or 2 (Raspbian based) and ROKOS uflavors a week or 2 after (Ubuntu mate based).

There d be no advantage as would still require cpu to operate this, while in theory sounds good, every coin would have to make proper
changes just to fit that model, and as not everyone has miners would lose its purpose, same way cpu over iot
keep doubling every few months now, so in the future cpu wont be an issue imho.

Welcome to the community, Thanks for your feedback.

Some great things being built here (open source work is much easier to better, keeping in mind the custom touches of closed & a world of improving both), the world is changing & innovation is that of light speed ahead of our past generations. A decade of operating system knowledge, but most interested in the hardware & most don't understand that "without the software, what use would the hardware utilize & function as"  Wink

Back from CoinFest UK in Manchester and while hardly anyone has heard of ROKOS, it did draw a lot of "wtf is this all about then?", to which I was more than happy to fill in the gaps and sing praises.
