I withdrew everything from bitfinex some days ago. I think these small little signs are too much risk already. Dont know what things they do but better safe than sorry.

Looks like a bunch of bitfinex customers are stuck with a 0-confirmation withdrawal for the last 10(?) hours or so:

https://www.blocktrail.com/BTC/tx/2e9ceda8a520f4d0deca82158cfb389848575f505e6f5e9b2011c152918de146

~1736 BTC in this transaction and others hanging from it.  Looks like it currently has 2 unconfirmed inputs, so the delay is likely further back the line.

Anyone know enough blockchain-fu to understand what's going on here?

(I'm one of the people affected by this - my wallet is showing this tx as 'conflicted')

The Irony here is that Bitfinex has a public relations employee by the name of Zane Tackett and if he actually did his job he would have posted a message to Bitfinex users via the "Announcement Page" at Bitfinex letting everyone know about the network delays happening. Instead with the volatility of Bitcoin uninformed users who make a withdraw can now enjoy losing money while their transfer is stuck for 18 hours in delay mode.

Thanks Zane Tackett Job Well Done!   Keep up the hard work.

Yes, another annoying stresstest done to proof that we need bigger blocks to protect against blockchain spam. They do this since yesterday. For reference

I've been watching this tx for a while, and I'm inclined to think now that the delay isn't a result of the spam (the fee here is 0.0009).
Actually, for a short while after this was broadcast, blocktrail was claiming this was an orphaned chain - and given that bitfinex appear to spend their outputs before they're confirmed, I wonder did they do an unintentional double spend?

There's a lot of money involved here anyway, so I'm confident there'll be a happy ending. (my withdrawal is only a very small part of this)

Seeing trades go through my end maybe only down for certain people areas? The volume looks a little dead right at this moment.

Yes, we are currently experiencing downtime. We're investigating it right now and I'll be sure to keep this thread updated when I know more. Sorry for the inconvenience and the interruption.

Bitfinex... you guys should really take care. Withdrawal problems, problems with swap payments an so on. Bitcoiners are VERY cautious nowadays regarding problems. Don't let them think you got hacked or so.

I understand the security issues after the recent breach and all, but your bitcoin withdrawal system is totally unreliable and unusable for me at the moment: random 1-6 hours delays really aren't acceptable, I'll have to switch to other exchanges and that's a shame cause I liked you ui and other instruments.

The hack doesn't have an effect on this besides the fact that we're now using a multi-sig hot wallet. Furthermore most users are withdrawing without issue. Can you please send me a pm with your username so that I can look into it. Also please make sure that you are promptly confirming your withdrawals from the email that we send you (these may be getting sent to your spam folder, so please check there as well).

It's not likely to be an account related issue, it's a problem with the way you handle your hot wallet, there is even a disclaimer in withdraw mails (" [...] can take up to 12 hours if hot wallet is empty").
When the hot wallet has the liquidity withdraws go through with no issues in a matter of minutes. But when it's empty delays start: it's been like this for quite some time even before the hack, but before it was pretty rare and delays weren't this long (1 hr, max 2 hr on one occasion only).
Now it's happening nearly every day and delays are much longer on average (more than 6 hrs one time).
Happened to some friends too so I really don't think it's account related. I'm sending you my user in pm anyway.

Bitfinex Update:

Some of you might have noticed that you're starting to receive emails from Bitfinex upon logging in. This is just another security setting that we have enabled. It shows you the IP and includes a link to freeze your account if you think that it is a suspicious login.

If you want to turn these notifications off, go to your Security Settings[1] page and click the "Disable login notification" checkbox.

We will be adding some more security settings soon and I'll be sure to keep everyone updated.

So how can I verify the reserves backing my account balance anyways with your new multisig backend (which address should I check)? Or did I misunderstand something?

You can verify your reserves on BitGo, you can see what it looks like here: https://twitter.com/masonic_tweets/status/610933556928495616
