Things like the bitkee idea and banners gambling websites could use saying they accept casinocoin etc I can create a press kit link on the op

To the above post what were you viewing the website on? Everything looks fine for me and ive done a thorough review of the responsiveness
You are correct the main banner image is reduced quality for better page load but the others are all part of an icon script

Maybe we could punch up the slide show. No banner is needed if we substitute slides for example.

BTW, AJChems -
Is the android wallet considered a GA release now? Maybe we can send a announcement out on the list.
I still have an issue with the difficulty check implementation which needs to be solved. I can not seem to match the calculated difficulty to the actual network diff. Also need to add the new v1.3.0.0 changes. So better wait with a GA release until that got solved.

CSC clearly has a strong technical following with plenty of people who know about the world of crypto currencies helping out, however i have said it before on here, you really need more marketing, people who directly track down owners of online casinos and convince them to use the coin, it may even be worth someone dedicating all there time to contacting these casino owners through social media, telephone and online chat as i dont think the casinocoincity site is enough to make this a truly successful coin, it needs that sales expert touch to convince casino sites and eventually the big boys like paddy power and william hill

I've been thinking about this lately as well. Now that the v1.3 update has occurred, and block rewards will be dropping to 10CSC soon, what are the next steps that will be taken to get people to adopt CasinoCoin and make it valuable?

Well, there's a lot of activity going on by different members beyond the regular adoption/integration ongoings. However, value is not the only target. Mostly, people are working on improving the accessibility and utility of the coin. There's work going on with mobile wallets. A few members are working on adding more gambling sites. I've been working with a few individuals with regard to developing an ATM for BTC/LTC/CSC, which looks like we may initially deploy in Japan. The current target is to run a crowdsource campaign to assist with rolling out the ATM's possibly at the end of August into September.

Current activities are directed towards to improve accessibility, market cap, and adoption for the most part. The last update was mostly to eliminate the dilution problem the has plagued the coin over the last year. If our changes are successful, it could position the coin quite nicely for use as a low fee funding source for traditional gambling sites once scrypt ASICs are fairly common and scrypt coins become more secure and safer to hold.
I agree CSC is lacking marketing efforts but to do that succesfully we first need a stable coin and all the necesarry tools to garantee its success. To have CSC adopted by online casinos we need:

- Comply with the coin specifications, i think that transcoder was right to assume that casinos need a faster block time for crypto currency than bitcoin. Having set the block time to 30 seconds allows for fast deposits and withdrawels. Lately i see block times at my pool of more that 20 minutes!! In my opinion that is totally unacceptable! If i transfer coins to an online casino and i need to wait 20 minutes before i can start playing i will leave! Some users indicated that its not that a big issue but in my opinion this is the next biggest problem we have to solve. Implementing KGW and Digishield may have solved some issues in regards to multipools but also others have appeared. The enormous difficulty swings are not doing any good and we need to collectively analyse the dificulty problems and come with a solution in the next months.

- Supply the necesarry APIs for handling CSC transactions. That is why i started to work on CasinocoinJ because a lot of online casinos are using java based server software. Giving them a java based wallet and api will help them out greatly. We also need to work on a payment gateway for CSC to make it easier for merchants or online casinos to accept CSC. I do not want to start my own online casino but i am willing to see if i can come up with some basic android code framework to build mobile casino games on top of the mobile android wallet. If we supply the community with a framework to build apps i am sure more than one will get on the casinocoin train.

- Secure stable mining at all times. Without stable mining there are is no stable transaction handling. We need to keep the incentive for the miners as high as possible. We are now at block 551401 which means roughly 27.5 mln coins. Lowering the max to 63 mln coins and a block reward of 10 results in 3.550.000 blocks which is about 1230 days which is about 3 years and a bit. If by then the miners do not get at least between 1-5 coins per block on transaction costs they will stop mining. Without mining the network will collapse so by then we need either a lot of transactions per block or increase the transaction fee considerably from the current 0.001 to about 0.1. The good news is we still have about 3 years to make this coin a big success!!

On a more general note, ... I am very happy there is still a lot of support to move this coin forward. Allthough my time is also limited i am very much committed to futher develop this coin as i am still convinced it is one of the very few crypto coins out there with a real purpose. We only need to strengthen its foundation to make it fullfil that promise!

The header needs to be adjusted on the Casino site brother.  It honestly took me a minute to figure out the word "Online" in the slogan area, think the black in those letters is bad against an almost black background.  Also the cards are blurry, it actually looks like all the images on the home page are slightly degraded a bit too far, I assume was done for page load times.

Sorry I SUCK at doing graphics or I would offer to help with this and your request!!

- Today i upgraded the https://www.megamineros.com/CSC pool to the latest version. Some very important bugfixes and security issues were solved. Hope you all like the new UI as well Wink

- Secondly i was able today to cross-compile the casinocoin-qt wallet for windows from a linux virtualbox machine! I have it downloading the blockchain at this moment but looks very good. The executable is a bit larger than the windows compiled version (about 25Mb instead of 23Mb) but that has to do with some precompiled libraries i needed to use instead of compiling all from source. For the end result that has no influence at all. I will now add the linux build as well to the same virtualbox and then create some bash scripts that glue all together to create an easy build system.

This type of upgrade will never go 100% smooth. It's like herding cats.

Not true...but I will leave it alone.

The discussion is welcome. Maybe it can help us design a smoother release procedure. There are few things that didn't go as planned already that we'll address before a future release, specifically with compiling clients and appropriate compilation instructions in the documentation for example. If you can help us design a better release procedure, we'd appreciate it. Wink

MANDATORY UPDATE TO v1.3.0.0 - HARDFORK OCCURRED AT BLOCK 546250

A hardfork occurs when the new coin specs go into effect...not when you release a new client version with it set to change after a certain point.

So the question is...when does the hardfork actually occur....could look at the source but just wanted to point out the hardfork did not actually take effect yet.

Edit: To answer my own question...hardfork will actually take effect at block 575000. Update before then or you will be on the wrong chain.

Hard fork occurs when new clients are released that ignore the clients with the old protocol. That has already occurred. The chains are already diverging. If you make a transaction on the 1.2 chain right now, it will not be in the 1.3 chain. If you mine on the 1.2 chain, those will not be on the 1.3 chain. 1.3 clients currently ignore 1.2 clients.

Wow, so you released a client that immediately created a forked blockchain?! That essentially gave everyone no time to update....  irresponsible in my opinion.

major changes slated for ten days out. really, no choice but to rip the bandaid off fast. 1.2 is a dead chain. upfront we did everything we could to flip cryptsy, pool, and other providers over. I knew it would take a few days to shake out. This type of upgrade will never go 100% smooth. It's like herding cats.
