yaye my java card reader/writer showed up today Wink
In the end what card reader/writer did you buy? I have not found any affordable javacards yet. The 1K or 4K Mifare cards will not suffice i think, .... you can only store data on it but not any programmable logic. If we want to sign transactions on the card so it does not have to release its public keys we need to be able to add some logic to it or the needed functions need to be available on the chip already. Have you looked at http://www.zeitcontrol.de/en ?

what will happen to the current mining difficulty (excluding the block reward) once the change happens?

Subsidy is reduced by 80%, so my guess is that price will stay the same, and difficulty will reduce by 80%. Might take a while for miners to switch.

3k blocks to go until the subsidy cut. Interesting how the price has been beat up this week on cryptsy. Wonder what people are thinking there.

I'm seeing some large blocks on the sell side which weren't there before.  That's odd, someone is dumping but why?  And where's our whale who was buying much higher?

last chance to accumulate I guess before the subsidy cut, I guess. I'm not complaining. Wink

Hello everybody Smiley
I am happy to introduce Altdice to the Casinocoin community.
It's a provably fair dice game pretty much like Satoshi Dice.

http://csc.altdice.net

To place a bet, choose your favorite odds and send a transaction to the associated address, with an amount anywhere from min bet to the max bet.
A Lucky number between 0 and 65535 will be picked up for you, based on your bet transaction ID. (Provably fair, of course)
If your Lucky number is below the target number you bet on, then you win your bet amount * Prize Multiplier which is paid out directly to your wallet.
If you lose, you get 0.001 CSC back to your wallet.

The game requires 1 Casinocoin confirmation to process a bet. 98% expected payout. 2% edge house.
Come and multiply your CSCs ! You can win up to 100k CSCs per single bet !

Have a try :-)
Send any amount from 1 CSC to 55,000 CSC to CZxakt4T5bbCdn2gvgAEhHoy1YTKVKyivd => This is the 85% chance of winning game address.
It pays out x1.153 your bet amount automatically to your wallet if you win.

I wish endless fun to players and the best of luck on http://csc.altdice.net Smiley

Feel free to send a PM or Contact Us on the website for any reason. Feedbacks are always welcome !

Anyone have any experience with Javacards? I'm talking to a couple manufacturers in china to get some samples to develop ewallets for bitcoin, casinocoin, etc. Evidently, there is some useful code opensourced from btcchip Wink
Done some research and JCOP cards are pretty expensive, cheapest i found still costs arround $6, have you found anything better? I agree with you that it will be more secure to do the signing on the card/chip instead of only holding the private key and doing the signing on a POS, that way a card does not need to have an interface to give up its private key, thus it can not be stolen unless the card itself is stolen. I think adding some kind of extra PIN authentication to the solution would also be beneficial, just like normal bankcards, only card and PIN combination will allow transactions. Anybody know of cheap JCOP cards?

I can get the 4k cards from china for <$1 each. Java card 3.0.1 80k contactless cards are 20 euro and have export restrictions. $50 will get you a reader/writer and a few 4k cards easily.

AJ- you can get the JCOP dev platform 3.0.4 here and it comes with a simulator if you'd like to give it a spin. the github package to try is btcipjc. http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/embedded/javacard/downloads/javacard-sdk-2043229.html

is the poker thing down atm?
Unfortunately yes due to the server company I was hosting with shut down abruptly and did not allow for backups of the server(burstnet)  Angry reworking the new system now and attempting to use an old backup to retrieve data

Ouch, that sucks!  Hope it doesn't cost you too much time man!!

I like the direction the coin is moving with the reduced block subsidy from 50 to 10 - reducing the inflation should really help firm up the coin's position.

Also, I was wondering if merged-mining had been considered? That would make it possible to reduce the subsidy/inflation even further.

Merged mining is a great idea also for added security which will help with adoption.

How feasible is it to merge mine CasinoCoin with maybe LTC or Doge?  I think one of this two would be ideal but I'm not sure what kind of work is required to add a merge mine patch.

The way merged-mining works is that once enabled (requires code change/fork), it can merged-mined with any other scrypt coin as a primary coin - it's up to the miner, or the pool, to choose which one.  So one miner could mine Doge/CasinoCoin, andother could mine Litecoin/CasinoCoin.  Merged mining is good for getting high block-chain security for a low subsidy.

I'm not 100% sure but I think to do so would likely require matching the initial bits of the keys from casinocoin to litecoin so that the resulting keys from mining are compatible. Then it just a matter of submitting to both chains when a block found on CSC also hashes out to a diff large enough for litecoin. We should chat about this more, but it's no small feat I believe.
