I also compiled the OSX version of the v1.3.0.0 wallet. I uploaded it to https://github.com/casinocoin/casinocoin/releases/download/1.3.0.0/CasinoCoin-Qt.zip @casinocoin -> can you update the links on www.casinocoin.org as well for the OSX wallet?

Watching this reduced reward "experiment" with interest. I know others coins have done so but this is my first time with teeth in the game so I'm paying attention

No worries. There will always be a period of adjustment.
Besides, until the price eventually adjusts higher, we should at least start to see a more stable hash rate. Eventually, when scrypt ASICs become more prolific in a few months, these <1GH hash rates will be largely irrelevant. We are on the precipice of legitimising scrypt currencies.

I agree, Mintpal is dirty and now has a bad rep anyway. So bittrex seems to be the exchange of choice right now for active traders.

I'd take bittrex over mintpal any day. Mintpal has demanded coins from devs before in hacks. Bittrex seems more ethical frankly. BTW, Mintpal acquired by Moolha. Seems Mintpal lost $2m in customer funds.

$2200 for cash in and $3500 cash in/out for the base unit FOB Shenzen. We would provide a customer firmware load for free and a cloud service that hooks in on the backend for a 1 - 2% fee. It's pretty simple really.

The best part will come when there's increased demand. Either from developments or from the next crypto boom which should come very soon. Removing millions of coins in added dilution will prove to be a big move I believe, compared to other coins which chose to dilute their holders into oblivion on some ridiculous notion of righteousness.
I've got my Casino Coins and if it stays this low I hope to get the BTC to add a bit more.

yaye my java card reader/writer showed up today
In the end what card reader/writer did you buy? I have not found any affordable javacards yet. The 1K or 4K Mifare cards will not suffice i think, .... you can only store data on it but not any programmable logic. If we want to sign transactions on the card so it does not have to release its public keys we need to be able to add some logic to it or the needed functions need to be available on the chip already. Have you looked at http://www.zeitcontrol.de/en ? Try these:

Cheap given the memory. Decent for dev. Later you can use a card that has just enough memory.
I picked up a rebranded contact card reader here in tokyo from NTT. It's usb and cheap, but it should do the trick nicely.

what will happen to the current mining difficulty (excluding the block reward) once the change happens?
Subsidy is reduced by 80%, so my guess is that price will stay the same, and difficulty will reduce by 80%. Might take a while for miners to switch.
Correct, price will not jump automatically but now the price can move up much easier on any developments and buying due to much less downward pressure.
