Retirement is the time one should enjoy the benefits for  the years of actively working or serving a boss inorder to retire at an age as this.
No much risky business to spend frivolously on should be attempted and if there's still a passion to pursue a dream, please do, because the next of kin would be waiting to inherit all we had worked for without as little as a  thought .

Every person has to retire at some point. While retirement is pleasant for anyone, most people remember those working days the most after retirement. For those who have sufficient income, leisure time is very good. But on the contrary, for those who are not in good financial condition, it is a very miserable chapter because even if they are exempted from a particular job, they have to get employment in some field or the other. Their free time to make a living becomes more difficult. Normally after a certain period of time people do not have enough energy for work but at that time retirement is a negative word for them when they have to do compulsory work.
What do we do after retirement? We engage in recreational activities and having fun with our loved ones. Physical labor that drains our energy should be well compensated because it consumes a considerable amount of our time and energy. Perhaps this is what motivates the majority of our young people to strive for greater heights. Working at the appropriate time has significance in the present-day environment. Retirement is for those who have worked extremely hard and want to enjoy the fruits of their labor. Most working-class folks do not have retirement plans; they simply go with the flow of the system.

What term retirement usually denotes to is, to stop working. People often don't like job, so to retire usually tends to be on top of the list. However, if one likes what he does, he will do something similar to pass the time even after retirement.

Now, I'll be honest, I dunno what I am driving at but I wanted to spark topic about retirement. Now, you go,
I can't help but wonder how a person can work all his life on a job that they don't like, so what I believe is that a person who retires most likely likes their job which is the reason why they have given so many years of their lives in providing their service to that job, thus, they will try to find ways after retirement to try still and live the same life that they used to live when it comes to work because it's not easy for them to let go of their passion after so many years.

Even when you don't like something you start getting into the habit of it if you do it for some reason, so if you like doing something, it will be a different ball game altogether, and it will be difficult for a person to let go just after their retirement which is the reason why they keep trying to have the same experiences that they have had for the most of their lives.

if you want to retire you can do what you did before but couldn't do it because there was no time or something was a priority at the time and you couldn't do it.
Ordinary people will garden, fish, raise animals.
Maybe my advice can remind you of events from your past.
If I understand what the OP said, there are actually two kinds of desires that are born from different people. The first is people who want to retire before the time comes and the second is people who have to retire when the time comes even though according to their wishes the person still doesn't want to retire. But because time has forced these people to retire, there is no other choice but to follow existing rules and such people will usually continue to work at what they like even though they are no longer tied to any agency in their lives.

In our country retirement is not something that most people think about, not unless you are privileged. Most people work their ass off as long as they can, even working with a minimum income in their old age. There's also a stigma where people tend to use their children to support them at their old age. So, I don't think that people in our country put a lot of consideration in the term "retirement". But if I were to choose I wouldn't mind if I'll be working on my retirement days as long as I am enjoying what I'm doing, either cooking, starting a small business, or whatsoever. I don't want to spend the rest of my days being idle just waiting for days to go by.

Mark Twain said —> 'Find a job you enjoy doing, and you will never have to work a day in your life.'  ....so I reckon those people will not want to retire, they will just keep doing what they are doing.

I think most people should just get a hobby that generate some income to supplement their retirement income, so that they are busy while they are on pension.  Wink

I feel like even if you like your job, you'd still want to retire at some point. Cause you would still want to take a rest especially if you're getting old. And you will also want to enjoy the remaining time you have before your body cannot do that anymore. Unless it's your own business that you need to keep running because it becomes your life. However, for regular employees or worker, even if they enjoy their job, I think they will still choose enjoying their personal life than just continue being at work.

Though I know someone who already reached her retirement age few years ago but still choose to keep working. Tho her situation is kinda different. She doesn't have any child, her husband already died, her relatives live separately and if she stopped working, she'll have nothing else to do living in her own house alone.

Yes, retirement is doing something you want to do. It's been years now since I stopped doing the 8-5 daily office cycle. I missed it somehow and I might take another 8-5 if it's I am very interested, like traveling and maybe teaching history or social studies.

However, my main goal is to have a stable business that is inclined to my hobbies and interests. The difference though when having a business is there are risks like losing money and failing to profit. While having an interesting job in a company is financially risk-free.
When someone is still actively working and he can make good use of his money then when retirement arrives his life will definitely be much better and he won't have to work as hard anymore. You must have prepared yourself thoroughly when you decided to stop working 8-5 every day and the goal of stopping was accompanied by another desire to develop your potential in business. I am also a small business owner selling clothing and the life I live is much more independent than working under someone else's system.

There will definitely be risks when we intend to develop a business just like we invest in bitcoin. But speaking of freedom, developing skills and time are efforts that we organize ourselves so that work will be much more productive. Working in the government and corporate sectors is regulated by their system even though the level of risk is small, but talking about freedom and hobbies we will have a little difficulty developing them.

Retirement is the time when someone decides to stop their job, which has been their routine for many years. Usually, these retirees get their salary every month or all at once when their retirement letter comes out. Those who retire are usually elderly and are no longer considered productive.

Those who are retired try to find other activities to fill their free time. And by having lots of free time, someone can do something they have wanted for a long time. But usually, they will not be able to do it because of their age limitations. But if someone is still of productive age and decides to retire, usually they have already achieved their financial capabilities.

They will not think or worry about how they can meet their needs because they already have a passive source of income. And it would be the best decision for him to retire at a young age because he can focus more on doing other things. This is what today's young generation is trying to find and they are trying to work hard while they still have the opportunity.

Being retired, you are able to do more and you have a lot of time to accomplish all the things that you didn't make from the several past years.
the best thing of being retired is the freedom to do just as you please, and not do the things you don’t want to do. It's a good idea to have your stable business which suits you and connected to your interest because if that so, you are able to handle it more confidently. As you've said, having a business comes with a risk of losing money which is common part of having a business.. you have to believe in yourself that you can do a lot better, especially now that you are focusing in your business and you have all your time to spend more on it while enjoying handling it.

Now, I'll be honest, I dunno what I am driving at but I wanted to spark topic about retirement. Now, you go,
we've gotten to a point where retirement had almost been given a contextual meaning. In the circular world and for people that are into the civil service jobs, it is mainly the period when the workers have served a reasonable number of year's and their service might have gone obsolete and they will have to pay them off and find a replacement that is updated with the reality of the moment. Because of how the whole system is structured, it normally takes long before one goes into his retirement phase and normally doesn't have enough time to enjoy the dividend of his past labour before finally passing away.

A self employed person can also set out his retirement goals when h will have to shift the responsibility he is carrying to someone else and might use that retirement period to go into activity that are not stressful and demanding. He can just use that time to travel around and might only be doing more speaking at event and sharing of his experiences to people that are new in the sector.

Retirement is what everyone should definitely plan for himself so one can enjoy his after service life.

Let's be honest, if a person loves what they do, they will probably find a way to do it after they retire. How do you see your average return? In many countries it is difficult to live on a pension alone, so it is necessary to look for additional types of income.Cryptocurrency is just what you need, you could say it’s a hobby in retirement.
Right, especially in our country after retirement who's got a pension ( it's depend on job, some good government's employee getting a big amount of money which is enough to lead good life in rest of life) but mostly people's did not get enough money to lead good life, they have to earn extra money in different sectors otherwise it's not possible to lead better life.

Theres a very unlikely sounding club that aims to retire at 30.  That should be impossible in theory but they do it in a clever way and despite your outline I think they view retirement as secured costs to living but likely still earning in some capacity shape or form.
Quite a few people retire from a main job but then continue to work in some other job opportunity they might have, usually a nicer or easier job perhaps far away from the city so qualifying as retirement from the big fuss of cities.  Retirement varies too much especially nowadays, I doubt I'd ever trust not working at all unless very rich then maybe you fish for fun and sell the excess as a job, dream retirement.

I know someone like that. It was when I was young that he was petitioned to the U.S. and completed a military course. At the same time, he was also able to work as a military officer there, and he was even assigned somewhere in Iraq.

To make a long story short, at the age of 35 years old, he filed for early retirement. The benefits he got from the U.S., if I am not mistaken, up until now have included a pension amounting to around $1,000–$12,000 monthly. And for what he was doing now, he was traveling everywhere he wanted, investing, and I don't know if he knows about Bitcoin or cryptocurrency.

For me, waiting for retirement to be able to enjoy the results of hard work is not the main thing. Because retirement is always synonymous with old age, even though if you are old then the enjoyment will definitely decrease. So I think it will be difficult to enjoy it. Therefore, I do not make it a rule that retirement is the main goal for relaxing. But I will carry out all the work that I do in a relaxed manner. That way, I will continue to enjoy my youth, without wasting my potential to look for provisions for old age.

This is true.

Someone who likes what he's been doing if it's a job or a hobby that makes him happy and earn money, he'll never retire to that. Who likes job? We all hate it when we're working on a job that we don't like but we have to go to office for our needs and salary.

But it's a different thing if it's about retirement, we all want to get out of the zone where we're always monitored by the company, scolded by the boss sometimes.

That's why those old people that don't retire but keep going on with their passion or hobby and fortunately, they're making money out of it, they don't see it as a job but just having fun and no word as retirement to them will be heard.

Nope. What you just said is unemployment. Retirement is not having the yoke of responsibilities and financial worries strapped over your shoulders, allowing you to enjoy all the things you want without having to worry about dragging yourself to work tomorrow, or where’d you get the money to buy food for the next few days. That is true retirement to say the least.

People of course become bored after some time, which is why they do stuff to cover time they would’ve used to go to work. Yes retired people still go to work sometimes, but it’s pretty much for a different reason now.

Well,  when such a moment arrives it does not seem to be the best, yes it is strange, but at least it is my sensation not of readings or guides for the retreat, but of real people that I have been able to meet along way...

In general, I think that, retirement is very linked to how easy or difficult on the activity you have carried out throughout your life, and in that idea, as I mentioned, it can be easy or very difficult, then, those who somehow way they could "enjoy" what they were doing, they chose to continue with their own businesses or semi-retire. In fact, they enjoy being in those "fights."

Then I have been able to meet, even relatives who literally retire and do nothing but "live."

On the other hand, I was closely touched by a relative who was a teacher for more than 30 years, and leaving her activities has been tremendously hard, she goes through phases where she hears the bell for recess and dismissal, hears voices, etc. She is in therapy and, as she told me, she practically retired to get sick and dedicate herself to her health.

Anyway, as I said, it is not such an easy topic, but if it is planned in a certain way, those who can can make a retreat for the third age very happily, at least maybe there is that possibility.
