Retirement does not mean that you'll be stop working eventually. That is only a choice. But if you have your own business or investment, then you can still work on it hands on so that the rate of success will be higher. However, if your old age makes you incapable already, then that's the time to just focus and rely on your retirement. Or you can still rely from your business profits depending how it works based on how that trusted person manages your business.

But most likely, your retirement should be your best time to enjoy yourself and feel the freedom that comes with retirement age. Unfortunately, some who also reach retirement age are also struggling with their own diseases that made them being deprived to enjoy their last days in the universe.

To be honest with you and to everyone else reading, retirement is something I personally don't really fancy, I am ready to work for as long as I can provided I am not working for money, I just wanna be so rich, wealthy and comfortable that, passion should be what drives me to work, not the need for money, work driven by money is deceptive, but work driven by passion is original.
I can work till my old age provided my reason for working is not because i need money, but because I love what I do and enjoy doing it, staying at home all day doing nothing all in the name of retirement is very boring for me.

I think retirement doesn't really mean that you'll stop working. It means that you'd retire from your corporate job but you'd still do things that you've used to do whether they make you earn money or not. It's just like releasing loads of works and you're free from stress and that's what makes someone retire for real. Look at the ultra rich people, they have all the means to retire and stop working and spend all their riches until they're dead but they don't just stop, they keep working on but with lesser loads and tasks. Maybe, that's what really retirement is.

The vast majority of people are stuck in jobs to pay the bills and not necessarily because they want to do it, but then again jobs can often give some people a purpose in life and a reason to get out of bed in the morning. A lot of people often have a hard time adjusting to working for 40 years and then having to let go of that routine, so it can be a painful transition period, especially if they are pushed out involuntarily which often happens with redundancies. I enjoy my work luckily enough, but if I was given a million tomorrow it would definitely set me up to retire long before the usual retirement age and I could happily find things to fill my free time, although you have to make an extra effort to socialize because people are social animals.

You will be the one to define what kind of retirement do you want and how will you retire happy and financially free and ready? There’s a lot of options for you to retire well and its up to you now on where to focus more. Only few can retire happy and with money, they prepared for this and they know that the time will come for them to retire. Retirement is usually used by office workers who feel bored with their routine or workers who have time to stop working because of age, but many people end up confused about what they will do after retirement, always remember that never let them envy you. if you are not productive, you will only make yourself useless if you continue to be unproductive, if you really like something related to work and money then you have to keep doing that, never retire, and stop being productive. Retirement is everyone's dream, but often retirement is a trap to make someone unproductive.

Even if you like your job and what you do does not feel as if you are working at all, we must remember that as we get older we will lose some of that energy we had when we were young and some of our health as well, so it is reasonable even for those people to retire, however I suspect this is going to get harder and harder, as most people are doing their utmost effort just to afford the bare essentials, while the pension systems all over the world are bankrupt as well, so unless you save your own money and invest it, retiring could be nothing but a dream for most people out there.

I see that your response has some truth to it, and according to several sources that I have obtained, retirement means that someone who no longer works due to age limits must be dismissed. Or at your own request. And a retiree is usually entitled to pension/severance pay.
However, I see that not all jobs apply this system, there are also those who don't get anything. Sometimes I also see companies that do not apply retirement rules to those who have reached the age limit (company policy). I consider retirement the same as stopping working at someone else's place (employee).
For an entrepreneur there may be no rules regarding pensions because pensions only apply to employees.

Retirement means we stop working, not stop trying to make money. Because after retirement we also still have a life and still have to live. and also fulfill a need. And to make money at an age that is no longer young, we can start investing from now on, so that later after retirement we don't bother other people too much just for the cost of food and others.

And don't even think about stopping work and retiring early, unless you have prepared everything, at least you have a savings or some investments. And speaking of what we should do when after retirement, there are many things we can do and one of them is providing education to your children and grandchildren. Because what is very important for us to pass on to a child is not a sum of money, but a myriad of knowledge as their provision to continue to live life.

Theres a very unlikely sounding club that aims to retire at 30.  That should be impossible in theory but they do it in a clever way and despite your outline I think they view retirement as secured costs to living but likely still earning in some capacity shape or form.
  Quite a few people retire from a main job but then continue to work in some other job opportunity they might have, usually a nicer or easier job perhaps far away from the city so qualifying as retirement from the big fuss of cities.  Retirement varies too much especially nowadays, I doubt I'd ever trust not working at all unless very rich then maybe you fish for fun and sell the excess as a job, dream retirement.

I disagree with you buddy. Retirement is a total departure of the nature of work you do. When you retire it does not mean you have totally stop working it only means your done with the nature and level of work effort you have been putting in a particular job or skill. With retirement i feel like you can do more of the managerial aspect or create your own business by then you only super sees the business, nurture it and watch it grow. So your not doing the hard labor because you have to employ individuals who will do it for you. By so doing your are still working while you have retired. There will be a time where you could pass down the company or business to your heirs and have a share in it. By this time you are not even do the managerial part anymore, your heirs runs it and gives you your shares at the stipulated time period.

The key difference is that in retirement, they have the freedom to choose what they want to do, when they want to do it. They can create their own schedule, set their own goals, and define what "work" means to them in this new phase of life.

This freedom allows them to explore their full potential, discover new talents, and contribute to society in ways they never thought possible. They can become mentors, consultants, entrepreneurs, or simply active members of their communities.

Therefore, retirement should not be seen as the end of productivity or contribution. It's a chance to redefine those concepts based on individual values and aspirations. It's a time for personal growth, exploration, and giving back to the world in unique and meaningful ways.

I think it scares me a little bit when we think of retirement because we are so occupied and committed to our current job that we rarely take time out to go on holidays or what we really want to do, we are like a bounded labors who just sleep, travel to work, work and then repeat. If we think we are going to retire or think of retirement we feel somewhere we forgot to live our life and rather surviving all these years. If I had to plan retirement I would retire in some remote hilly village and take up farming as an hobby to pass the time.

This depends on the person, there are retirees who don't like working, there are also retirees because it's time to retire from their job and usually those who like to work after retirement will look for their own activities because they don't just like it. sitting around relaxing at home because he is used to working.


For me, retirement is important. Because retirement is an important phase in life that must be prepared well. Many people who do not prepare themselves well end up experiencing financial and psychological difficulties when retirement arrives. Therefore, it is important for us to prepare ourselves from a young age before entering retirement, so that we can enjoy retirement calmly and happily.

Currently I am still working, but I already have an idea of what I will do when I retire so that I can stay active and earn extra money besides my pension.
And we will definitely experience retirement and like it or not we will have to retire even though we still want to work and earn an income, even though we are still strong and healthy.
When I retire, I plan to buy land next to the house so I can use it to raise goats and also grow vegetables or tubers. Apart from that, I can also use the land for fish farming and so on. Even though I have never experienced these things, these things are challenges and activities for me to enjoy old age or retirement and apart from being consumed, I can also sell them for income. And that has become my plan and picture, when I retire.

Like I read about the saying that. The best job one is offered is the he/she finds pleasure in doing because you are liable to work overtime and even under pressures and the multitasking without feeling thr loads of stresses.
This just how it feels when you works on retirement that you wished never to be retired. Well, you just have to well okay, I am only retired but never tired because you still feels the vibes and energy to do more.
So at such point of retirement, the retirees may love to establish oneself on a private sector to stil continue and exercise that which they feels better of doing at the same time earning profits out of it.
I know about several legionaries who had sometimes served in the military but due to the terms of passions and the knowledgeable experience attained, after retirements, they either feels such possessions are being hindered wasteful while still active and necessary to be in used. So they choose to establishing some security private and individual firms as an organisation with super civilian and other enforcement agencies incorporation to offering of security services either to the government or the individual sectors.

In our area retirement indicates that people have entered sufficient work period as given by the company and the government, they will get compensation in the form of security deposits from the workplace. My country's life is similar to you, Because i see here also two groups likes Government job and private job, In government job, they look forward to their retirement because they get a lot of money, On the other hand in private job holders didn't nothing because they have no provident fund, but not every private companies, I see top private companies have good rules.

To my understanding, retirement means to stop working actively for money and that's doing your regular 9-5 jobs or still doing a job that needs your presence for it to function properly. You can retire, yet you're still working but it won't be the job you retired from. Retirement doesn't mean you'll stop making money as when you plan your life very well, you can make more money when you retire.

You can use your retirement funds to invest in businesses that can either bring cashflow or capital gains for you. Retirement gives you time to focus on other things and you can use your hobby to build wealth which is something you won't have been able to do when you were still actively working. People are scared of retirement because to them it means they'll stop receiving salary and that's modern day slavery.

We're so out of touch with financial education that we don't know other means to generate income apart from salary. We have different ways we can make money without having to be actively working to earn salary like from passive income, cashflow, capital gains from investment and so on. Retirement is actually good then been bad as people make it to look like and to enjoy our retirement, we have to start planning from now on how we want our retirement days to be like whether we want it to be work free or still want to be doing smaller jobs to keep the cash coming in.
