now that we are at $1000 i would like to say this is the time to start looking back and see how many of these comments and other similar comments on this board have been right and how many have been full of it. it is good to make a mental note for the future when you read the comments of the same person.

I guess those would be the panic buyers. It's just too expensive right now for me. I will wait for a correction to buy a little more. The only question is how low will it drop?

It will drop to a $1000 from $3000 high which is coming this month.

I just don't know who would be buying at these prices.

People thinking the price will increase to much higher levels in the coming months. I am happy that I have bought my coins well below $500 when I had the chance. I wouldn't feel comfortable buying at current prices if I didn't buy back then. That being said, without people buying at current levels there is no way we can go even higher, so I am thankful to people buying as I see my stash increase in value constantly.

Well, it just happened... BTC is now $1000USD... up or down from here?

My guess and it is only a guess is that it'll bounce above and below for a number of days/ weeks.

Yep, down to $950 & back to over $1000, back, to & fro for a few weeks. I just hope the next significant move is upwards.

As I see on YoBit now the price for bitcoin is 978$ Oh my God! So high! Will it be true that bitcoin will hit the point of 1000$ by the New Year already?!
Do everybody wish it to happen?
How could that be? Usually when it is listed on there it is $20-23 higher than what it is showing on the "real" exchanges.
I just went there to see what they had it at and it was actually listing there as a buy for $20 less. Undecided

Close to $400 - $500 I believe, way below that is bad for the miners already.

Once the bitcoin price hits 1,000$ it maybe drop at max 850$ and it will be in sideway for 1-2 months after that it will grow up again.
I expect the new top price hits at 1,260$ in September, 2017.

$1,200-1,400 would be a perfect target range for 2017.

Actually it's already good if the price maintains like that. Price jumps are due on the next halving season again.

It is good. But it is possible the price will be over $2000 if more people use it.

It could drop very far if what people suspect is true and that there will be a hack.

I don't really think the price of bitcoins would drop this time because see the price has steadily increase only this year and it has not gone below the price once reached. Its working like checkpoints now !

i completely agree.
bitcoin price has been rising slowly and it is like taking slow steps. each time there is a rise immediately afterwards there is a stable price period where everything stays the same and after some dumps (shaking out weak hands) the resistances are tested and then the next step of the rise happens.

and if we see a similar thing with $1000 i am sure price will stay up there.

With $1000 in the not too distant future and the ensuing sell off (I'm sure many consider this a psychological target to sell 20-50% of their bitcoins for profit, if only to re-invest after the drop).

The question is: after $1000, just how far do you think BTC will drop back? Could we see the days of $500 from August again, or are we stable above $800-900?

The recent trending bitcoin price in the past month has been much stable and has been increased many times rapidly which makes me think that the price can drop at 10% within a day maximum.

After $1.000, i predict the price of bitcoin will going down slow but sure, maybe down to $700-800 and will up again on Chinese New Year. Maybe it will stable around $700-800. In the next 2-5 days, you will see it.
I actually disagree with this view. When, and if, bitcoin hits $1,000, and if there is actually a drop, then it would probably happen relatively fast as the holiday season ends. The current value has been bubbling up, and there's a reason a pop is called a pop. It will go down quick and hopefully stabilize at or slightly above the previous stable mark which I do agree with.
