Good that you mention it, I'll adjust the overview tomorrow to include that information.
I have to admit that I hadn't looked to closely at Manna's whitepaper.

About Manna: "According to the whitepaper, the vast majority of existing monetary base is held by the founders and close associates:

-19% directly by the founders

-36% donated to Mannabase, a company directly controlled by their foundation

-17% paid to "dozens" of developers and technical staff

Another 9% was mined into circulation, and there is a strong probability that the early miners and the founders are one and the same. A grand total of 6% was given away as UBI but they promise to give more away by a complex process that seems very centralized.

It's essentially a UBI-branded premine: if you make us filthy rich we promise to make the world a better place. Certainly a splash of color in a crypto space that seems to be dominated by those who exploit more basic human impulses."

If you're in New York for Blockchain Week, We hope you can join us at the Bushwick Generator on the evening of May 15th:
https://openubi.splashthat.com/?fbclid=IwAR1F6yJzBhw-ZI7Y-ynJ9fW1-InviRpSHkmnFxYEY4Tn4XL93q3amGi-72g

Sadly, I won't be attending, I'm based in Europe and I'm pretty busy with work the next couple of weeks.

Sorry I only saw this response on the Steemit platform so late now,,, I wanted to share that I also actually spent a lot of time on that platform, writing original thoughts and really putting effort.

In the end I got not even a single comment, the few upvotes from random strangers, people posting to ask me to join some thing or whatever. I got more organic traffic from my free blog rather than from Steemit, so it was very disappointing for me as a crypto platform. I will think about this again later down the line if I ever start writing again. Thank you for the information you guys are sharing.

That's really sad to hear, I wish you would've asked me for some help sooner.
It's completely true that you won't get any engagement or upvotes if you just join Steemit and start writing, without looking further into it.

If you decide to try again, I can introduce you to some communities and suggest some tags you can use on your blogs, so you will get more upvotes and comments.
It really is a pretty tight-knit community and you do have to know some people in order to make it there.

I know it's not an ideal situation, I wish there was a better system in place for good content to get discovered.
That might change soon though, I know some projects that are working on it.

About Steem though, I used to write there but I never got any income even after many many posts. Maybe two or three posts got 1 cent:)

That's exactly what Steembasicincome is trying to fix.
After you enroll with them, you are guaranteed to get a certain amount of upvotes on your posts, depending on how much you put into Steembasicincome.

I for example get around a $1 upvote from them on every post I make.
Partly because I've received many shares of people and also because I put some Steem into it.

Keep in mind, these are upvotes you get for as long as you are active on Steem.

Very good list eternalgloom these kinds of posts definitely deserve some recognition. I have to say I have heard of the concept, but never actually got round to reading much about it. I can see all the criticisms that people are saying against it and they seem to have a point, but then, if we see the alternatives to it, there is also no good solution, so I say we should really try and give this model a really good attempt.

@Green.warrior

Hehe, I'm glad that you've found my thread useful and I definitely agree with your assessment.
These UBI projects really depend on people from richer countries buying up these UBI coins and keeping the prices high artificially.

That said, while this form of UBI might not be truly lifesaving for people in poorer countries, it could provide those people with a little bit of income just to get their basic necessities.
It's far from perfect, but I do think they could make a small difference.

Only if those people can properly access them though, so I hope that some of these projects will try to reach those people, without the people having to find them on the internet (for which they have to pay).

Thanks for your reply, awesome that you made an account on this forum purely to reply to this thread!

I've been going through all of these quite exhaustively and signing up to as many as I can. I'm not kidding, it's been a crazy 2 days and I have learned a lot. I honestly think UBI is the way forward but I think someone should mention the elephant in the room with a lot of these initiatives. My biggest problem with all of these projects is that they all seem to be following the rules of neo-liberalism, this idea that an open market will provide for all is not right. The thing is, let's say a poor farmer from a third world country and the community around him went onto one of these networks. To begin with these poor people trade the cryptocurrency amongst each other for grain and other produce, life is good. Then someone in a rich country decides to buy a really large amount of the same currency. The poor farmer decides to see if he can make more money, so he advertises his grain as being more than he is selling to the locals. He then gets noticed by the rich guy who considers his grain as extremely cheap. At that point it wouldn't matter if all the locals got a small amount of money each day if a large amount of people from rich nations are selling their currency to a few people. At the end of the day, they will still end up with nothing and all the grain will go to the rich country for a better price. If you read up on South Korea and how the went from rags to riches in just 50 years. You will see how important it is to protect a growing industry. They increased import taxes on electronic goods and increased public spending on anyone making a business in the elecronics industry. Before they knew it they had Samsung. Samsung was protected as a baby and allowed to grow. Only then was placed into the global market when it was mature enough to take it.
I know that would be a big problem to tackle but I think it should be tackled in some way. It is nice to see that UBIC wallet (my favourite so far) seems to be doing just that. It was easy to set up as well, scan my passport, it then gave me a unique currency that is linked to the country I am from (the currency is UUK, I am from the UK). It then just requires exchanges to ensure that the currencies are exchanged at a rate that would protect the poorer members of the group. It's still hard but at least it's a step in the right direction.

We at Basic Income Network envision a world of .....

--snip--

Your website is almost an exact copy of Swiftdemand's website, just seems a little bit fishy to be honest.
Even the basic income payout is exactly the same, as well as the referral earnings.

Why would you just do a low effort copy like that of an existing UBI solution?

Just compare:

&
http://basicincome.network/index.php

Also no SSL? Yeah no thanks...

We at Basic Income Network envision a world of

equality...

...giving everyone, regardless of background & religion,

a basic income.

our goal is to eliminate poverty, and reduce the gap

between rich & poor.

cryptocurrency has the power to change the world...

...its the next big revolution in the world of technology,

business & humanity as a whole

as more & more cryptocurrencies emerge every month,

the market is volatile, no one can predict exactly where

the market will go..

..but one thing is for sure.

the crypto currency which entails a lot of utility, and

the blockchain economy which is solving problems in

the world, is here to stay & long lasting...

Basic Income Tokens are here to stay, and can even

beat Bitcoin in value one day...

and why?

because of its utility & the problem it solves...

because one of the most pressing needs in the world,

one of the biggest problems in the world...

...revolve around money!

You can earn 100 Basic Income Tokens/day.

and 500/referral if you promote it.

Over the last few days, we've been experiencing

tremendous growth, and soon we'll have hundreds

of thousands of people bringing in new members...

Friend, careful, because the free token distribution

will stop once we hit 5 million members..

So, keep promoting, cheers! Smiley

thanks for the heads up!
I'll give a look on steemit project since I'm posting at least twice a month there.

Oh yeah, you definitely should, if you're already posting there.
There are a lot of ways to get free Steem Basic Income shares, just check the SBI Discord.

If you want you can share your Steemit username, then I'll send you a couple of shares to start with.

There's no need to be upset
how often do you update the main post?

it seems like Solidar is offline
https://solidar.it/

swift deman is also interesting but has no pratical application at the moment since you can't spend the tokens/coins and use it out of the platform, right?

I check for new projects every couple of months or so, but if anyone suggests a project to add, I usually add it within a couple of days.
I don't often keep track of the listed projects, so I must've missed that Solidar wasn't active anymore. Will adjust the OP

Yeah Swiftdemand seems to be very inactive. They do seem to make announcements on Twitter from time to time, so isn't completely dead.

thanks for the update
would you recommend any of the links on the OP that you use, it's working and generates more than 10 usd a month?

Well, I'm actively using Steem Basic Income, which gives me around 1 dollar per day.
The thing is that you need to be an active blogger on Steemit for that and it also requires some investment, not it's not a typical form of basic income.

Aside from that, I can recommend joining Manna, since you do not have to do anything to receive a basic income, though it will definitely not earn you 10 dollars per month.
The price of manna has been steadily dropping, so it's worth almost nothing.
