Every once in a while I re-balance my portfolio based on how the various projects are holding up. More often than not at this time I end up buying more PART.
So I watched the recent
AMA on YouTube, but it left me with some questions. A few people asked questions related to PART being removed from Bittrex US: "What's being done to find new exchanges?", "How will it affect the sale of the PART held by the Foundation?" etc.
The answer to "What's being done to find new exchanges?" seemed to be more or less "anything related to supply and demand is not within the remit of the Foundation".
Obviously as someone who's bought PART I have my own selfish reasons for wanting to see its price increase, but it feels like it'd be almost impossible for the Foundation to fully carry out its stated mission without giving at least some consideration to the price of PART and the factors affecting it.
From the Particl wiki:
"The foundation and its board strictly functions as a legal entity with the mission of providing funding and support for the Particl platform. It will also ensure the continued development of the Particl project..."
The Bittrex US news seems to have precipitated a drop in price of around 40% in the last month. With no other fundamental changes and alts in general having a little lift from the BTC price increase, it's hard to imagine what else might have caused it. A lower PART price means the development fund (from the 10% staking tax) won't go so far, and that if any of the 996,000 PART were to be sold now it would probably have to be at a reduced price. Meaning less funds for the future. So it seems that in a very concrete way the continued funding and development of the project is directly affected by exchange listings.
With that in mind, could someone clarify the Foundation's official position on whether or not they consider seeking exchanges listings as part of their mission and whether or not it is something that someone within the project is actively working on.
Thanks in advance and thanks in general for all the inspiring work you guys have done over the last couple years. There aren't many other coins I've been so happy to hold for so long.
