Particl has initiated today its last testing round before its Open Marketplace Dapp moves up onto mainnet on the 12th of August by publishing new testnet builds. This version of the marketplace includes private-by-default TXs powered by RingCT and all the bug fixes made since Particl's last testing round.

Particl Open Marketplace Development Update

If you’ve seen the latest Particl Open Marketplace update posted on #progress-updates , it mentioned the Particl developers were busy fixing a market startup and switching bug before pushing the build out to the public. Well, we are excited to announce that the issue has now been resolved and the build is currently being compiled and prepared for release tomorrow. That means a few things:

1) The testnet build is going to come out tomorrow. It will include all the bug fixes identified during the last testnet run, as well as a couple of improvements that have been suggested by some of you! Also, and probably more importantly, this build will contain the fully anonymous escrow system powered by RingCT!

2) The Particl Open Marketplace will move up to mainnet on the 12th of August! :tada:

3) The testnet bug bounty will be shortened up so that the Open Marketplace can effectively move up to mainnet on the 12th of August. Instead of running for two weeks, it will run for a duration of 7 days. The Particl developers are quite confident in the stability of the build, hence why it’s been opted to shorten the duration of the bug bounty in favor of keeping the 12th of August launch date.

4) A permanent mainnet bug bounty will also be issued tomorrow. This will allow anyone that finds a mainnet bug on Particl to be properly compensated for their disclosure. It will also provide a clear framework on how to disclose bugs properly.
5) The most exciting part of it: on the 12th of August, it will now be possible to safely buy and sell goods and services, in full anonymity, on the Particl Open Marketplace using real funds! :rocket:

So here we are, after years of blood, sweat, and tears, in the last mile leading up to the release of the marketplace. Let’s get as many testers as possible in the next few days to make sure all the bugs are effectively fixed, and let’s rock it! This marks a very important moment in the history of Particl, and from here on out, it will get very, very interesting!

Particl uses Particl Proof-of-Stake. It is a custom proof-of-stake protocol developed by the team itself. It is vaguely based off PoSv3, but it's so different now that really it cannot really be compared to it anymore.

One of the really neat feature of this PoS is that it allows you to cold stake your funds, basically staking them while they are offline or stored on hardware devices like the Ledger or the Trezor (support coming next firmware update). You can also cold stake on a pool. The marketplace being built on Particl will also redistribute all staking rewards to stakers.

Anyway, if you want more technical information about PPoS, you can let me know and I'll get these info for you. Might be easier if you joined the Particl #Open-development channel on either Riot or Discord (discord.me/particl). Some of the devs hang in there so it's probably the best place to ask.

And the price doesn't react, it's almost like an accumulation . I don't mind if i have more time to build my stash. At least i am not fomoing in anywhere.

All of the bugs that have been identified during the last testnet run (with blinded escrow) of the Particl Open Marketplace have been fixed. The product is now stable, secure, and runs very smoothly.

Coming up: A new testnet build of the marketplace with 100% untraceable transactions enabled by default, and then, the MAINNET RELEASE!

AND...on top of this...on the same day...The inflation on the Particl network has successfully reduced, as scheduled, from 4% to 3% on the 17th of July, 2019. This means less coins will be produced by the network, therefore making staking rewards smaller. Say no to wild, unpredictable inflation, and YES to scheduled, honest, and predictable inflation!

This is a HUGE update!!!!

This was a planned event to enable RingCT transactions and bulletproofs on PART mainnet.

Lol, i didn't even realize that project still exist. Cloak holders are massive Kucoin shares holders as well to want it there. Well Bittrex is good enough for me, for now.

I can't believe how silent the markets still are with all the work you guys do. It seems unreal, and the fact that you are only really trading in Bittrex. (Nothing wrong with bittrex, but i am amazed how this has not been picked up by Binance or Bitfinex for example.)
