The Securities and Exchange Commission of Nigeria (SEC) has officially legalized the issuance of a set of digital asset regulations that contradicts CBN rules which have banned Crypto from circulating in the country, although Emefiele also directly reported that the bank was investigating Crypto so the opportunity to create a Crypto campaign in the country was still wide open like you who want to provide service to customers in order to get convenience in payment is a pretty good thing and you also have to think about the application that will be used to do it all.

In a third-world African country, Nigeria operated by Female CEO. Hello, friends am from Nigeria a country where government regulation on cryptocurrency is flexible according to the law,
I think you have forgotten when the Nigerian government placed a ban on cryptocurrency transactions on the 5th of February 2021 and revisited on the case on the 23rd of February where the then Nigerian CNB governor  Mr Godwin Emefiele, explained reasons for restricting financial institutions from engaging in crypto transactions. Crypto is not flexible in Nigeria because personally i have seen cases of crypto operators arrested and prosecuted.

Nigerians had to adopt the risky investment option from crypto to held stand up to the high inflation rate in the country

In December 2021 I launched a campaign among crypto friends to adopt Bitcoin as a mode of payment in our venture and outlets, on 31st of January I open a Coffee shop and the Capital City Abuja for Bitcoin and none Bitcoin customers. This is aimed at promoting Bitcoin adoption and, as a newbie member here, I wish to see your advice and suggestions.
A nice risk taken but ensure you to make enquiries on how safe it is to carry out Bitcoin transaction in Abuja. Campaigning about bitcoin is the ultimate at the moment because it gives total privacy to the holder but staying safe while doing what is right is more important
I don't believe everything I read on the news. I don't think this ban is effective because I have other Nigerians on the forum implement Bitcoin payment in their business. The most recent one is The first gas station to accept Bitcoin in my region I don't think they will be campaigning Bitcoin openly if it is crime in the country.

If the government permits to use the payment of Bitcoin, i think it is much better to use it. It will help to promote or introduce Bitcoin to someone else. By using Bitcoin payments it will help them to adopt it.
Their country allows it and the op already started using bitcoin on his business but he seems to be disappointed because none of its customers uses bitcoin for paying their coffee. My only advice to op is to accept that fact. Maybe people on his country only sees btc as as an asset and not as a currency.

We know Nigeria and other third world countries. They can value btc a lot and they won't just spend it easily because they know that the value of btc keeps on growing while for other developed countries they can use their btc on different purposes. For the op, he can retain this payment method on his business. It won't cause any harm anyway. Let's see if there's anyone will be interested to use their sooner or later.

Hi!. That's interesting. How are you accepting payments? LN? Or maybe through blockchain and don't wait for confirmation? Both?
The subject is really very nice. If you pay for tea or coffee with Bitcoin. In different countries we have seen gas stations deliver gas with bitcoin. Then I saw that the hospital bill was paid with bitcoin.Food bills are paid with bitcoin at various restaurants. The advanced power of Bitcoin is astonishing people. We can imagine from this that Bitcoin transactions in all countries will start very soon in the future.

Nigeria had an unregulated market for cryptocurrency and now Nigeria government have issued new laws on issuance, exchange and custody of digital assets. In the past Securities and Exchange Comission of Nigeria along with the Central Bank of Nigeria banned enterprises doing businesses with cryptocurrency. Today Nigeria's SEC have issued licenses to operate Virtual Asset Services. This has got more terms and conditions to be fulfilled to receive the licence. The service should fulfill anti-money laundering and financing of terrorism.

These growth helps the network to grow strong. Also people this will give some visibility make unknown people know about bitcoin. It is the decision of the CEO and she is quite strong to get into the market.

A good idea if Bitcoin is increasingly active and easy to use for direct transactions such as to pay a cup of coffee, this is an effective promotional tool and makes anyone want to do the same thing, namely paying or using bitcoin for direct transactions. But the thing that makes us curious is that transaction costs are sometimes high and need more than 10 minutes for 2 confirmation.
Paying for a cup of coffee in bitcoin, in my opinion, is really an effective advertising tool, as you say, and allows to get to know about bitcoin people closer. A person who sees the inscription "here you can pay for a cup of coffee in bitcoin" has the thought "Hmm, you can already buy coffee for bitcoin. It must be not just a toy for geeks and speculators, but something more serious and bigger." Which in turn will allow him to feel interest in bitcoin.

I assume that paying in bitcoin for a cup of coffee will not always be. This is relevant only at this stage of BTC's development, but in the future, no one will use bitcoin for coffee. This is the same as paying with a bar of gold for a pack of cigarettes. I'm sure bitcoin will find a whole new level of use for itself, but now we can't do without "paying for coffee" too.

Nice initiative you have taken. These kind of bold steps further encourage others also to take the same route. You will also inspire your friends and customers to start accepting crypto for the services they offer.

Also, sharing this on this forum will also impact many. The forum has readership in millions and all these people will get to know about the benefits of crypto and bitcoin in genral. You have shown that how bitcoin can be integrated in daily life.

I've heard of that, but I haven't met and done it in a row. But indeed my country prohibits Bitcoin from being used as a means of payment legally, they only allow it as a commodity asset. Indeed, if you look at the development of bitcoin, it has a very rapid development. Many have adopted the technology and accepted it as payment. But I have doubts about the density of the network and the fees are expensive, so it takes a long time to confirm and that is the weakness of Bitcoin.
During this time the development of bitcoin has been very good, I hope there is not much bad news and abuse for evil. If that happens, there will probably be more countries restricting the movement of bitcoin.

As long as your government does not prohibit the use of crypto, especially bitcoin as a means of payment, of course, gradually people will start to be interested in the payments alternative that you offer, because now maybe payment with bitcoin is certainly more efficient than using fiat money for some people, I think the coffee business with payments bitcoin is now quite widespread and indicates that bitcoin is starting to be accepted by people in several countries such as your country, but if I may suggest, maybe you need to follow the example of some cafes that make bitcoin an attraction for consumers in Thailand, in addition to accepting payments with crypto , their also educate visitors with crypto and provide in-depth information on bitcoin market analysis.

Legality and adoption go hand in hand and perhaps in the future many countries will legalize the use of bitcoin as an alternative payment. You only need to spend a few units of bitcoin to pay for coffee without having to carry fiat, but you have to use LN. For a while I was still comfortable using fiat as a means of payment due to the adoption and legality of bitcoin. But I don't know if I can use it in the future because the government seems to prefer CBDC over legalizing bitcoin as a means of payment.

You can receive a supply of coffee the size of a small apartment if you spend 1 bitcoin on coffee. You can buy products with fractions of bitcoins, but paying for them online using bitcoin is difficult.
That is true but on a second thought Bitcoin payment is becoming flexible this time, especially with the scan-to-pay method in most Bitcoin POS, and with the lightning, network transaction processing time and fees are on a minimal level.

What am most interested in the thread admin is informing us now is how the business has been able to survive the volatile attitude of the bitcoin market price.

This is definitely interesting news from the third world country where Government is already chasing the local currencies development so that they can settle up with dollar pricing. Introduction of bitcoin is always great for the local community because that’s one of the way to educate people. This is just first step towards it. After looking at banner of “bitcoin accepted here” people will be curious. They will definitely come asking about it, how to open wallets and everything. You should also place banners in short on how to open bitcoin wallets and start sending and receiving the coins so that it will turn into self educating point too. Good luck for everything.

I really love the idea of having stores and paying the food with bitcoin. Such a great idea and a good one since it is more convenient for bitcoin users. May other businesses do the same payment process.
