That is very interesting information you share, these we make  newbie to know bitcoin as a digital assets, which you can used it to buy anything online,  as he mention about the coffee stand, that you can pay with bitcoin which is very possible, that is very big welcome development to African
Here on my country where there are lots already of merchants which do really accept bitcoin and other altcoins in terms of their services or products which is something really that good to have
yet you would really be having options whether you do make use of your coins or would simply stick with fiat. For the benefit of doubt if you could make use of those coins then you would
really be trying it out but that would only good for few tries yet you would be minding about store of value which you wont really be wasting your coins on spending into those common
product or services because you do come after for long term possible profits.

i don't think it is going to happen in india anytime soon.

the government is keen on making sure that business don't start accepting btc as payment.

and the way they did this is very cruelly by adding 30% tax on crypto gains.

on top of that, any expenses you incur accepting crypto cannot be deducted from the gains, such as platform fee, tx fee, etc.

therefore, the companies or businesses hoping to accept bitcoin for payment will just back off.

because they will not want to go through the hassle of doing so.
My country used to have a strong anti Bitcoin law that prohibits citizens from cryptocurrency transactions but we the youths have seen cryptocurrency as the way to financial freedom and have embraced its p2p usage, not until recently when the SEC gave out guidelines for cryptocurrency usage within the business space. But all pointed to taxation.

Personally, it is something that should happen, an example of this is Gucci, I know it is not like buying a coffee, but Gucci is accepting Cryptocurrencies as forms of payment, it is something that the large markets should have.

Well, you are certainly not entirely wrong. This is something that the large markets do have. The main goal, in the case of Gucci, is to find new loyal customers and partners from a different crowd of people. Its just crypto fans that Gucci is after. Basically just a big PR Stunt do get crypto holders attention towards their own brand and their own company.

Marketing strategies aside, Gucci is not something I would buy even if the price did not bother me. I am a simple person with a simple philosophy: It does not matter whos logo is on your shoes, you're still a walking advertisement. Roll Eyes

In a third-world African country,

Thank Odusko
There was  a Similar situation in My country as we are also a 3rd world country but the Coffee shop is 4 hours drive from my place meaning it is in 4 city from here so there is no time for me to visit .
But I'm planning for this in the next 3 months as my vacation is coming to place.
Lets support Business like this guys because this is how we can move adoption into reality if there are many cryptonians that will apply these currencies into their businesses.

I think "A lot can happen over coffee".. The Bit coin is brewing up into a elixer which everyone will seek in future.
Cofee is just a start, in future we will see major online stores accepting bitcoin and this will give a major boost to bitcoin economy. Those who belive that days of astronomical returns from bitcoin are over, made a immature calculation. As soon as major economies start accepting bitcoin, We will see astronomical rise in bitcoin economy
I think is good way begin with coffee store accepted payment currency using bitcoin next time have chance for other store adopt bitcoin as legal currency transaction, but still need allowed by Nigerian government they have adopt and legal using bitcoin as currency transaction payment or not. Nowadays have several shop store accepted bitcoin as legal currency transaction but they not asking about how regulation from their government by using bitcoin or cryptocurrency as payment currency, that have been legal or still not allowed.

In a third-world African country, Nigeria operated by Female CEO. Hello, friends am from Nigeria a country where government regulation on cryptocurrency is flexible according to the law, the CBN which is the apex central bank warns against the risk involved in it and advise Nigeria to be careful, but Nigeria is one of the highest in terms of cryptocurrency adoption according to statistics. With the decentralized nature of Bitcoin that have Thousands of Nigeria Citizens who have knowledge of blockchain and digital currencies and have adopted it, In December 2022 I launched a campaign among crypto friends to adopt Bitcoin as a mode of payment in our venture and outlets, on 31st of January I open a Coffee shop and the Capital City Abuja for Bitcoin and none Bitcoin customers. This is aimed at promoting Bitcoin adoption and, as a newbie member here, I wish to see your advice and suggestions.

Thank Odusko

It's great innovation seeing people getting involve in case crypto related business here in Nigeria considering the blackish it has been painted by our government. But no matter our great I see the work I still feel it's kind of risk getting publicly involved in cryptocurrency here in Nigeria. And for people paying through BTC, wouldn't the current ban also scare people off in getting involve since they don't know who is in charge. Some might consider paying with FIAT. I think the first thing to do now is to have a larger community of Bitcoin enthusiasts just like us either creating awareness through social media and then afterwards you can consider your plans again in getting into the business. But it's a great innovation though. Thumbs up

The thing that is fun because it can use Bitcoin directly, of course this is a good idea and makes more and more active users do not need to divert anymore to Fiat, I hope that more outlets and restaurants can receive bitcoin so that direct adoption will make many benefits.

It’s really a great initiative to make more people into crypto.
But the fact is that, in Nigeria Bitcoins are not legalised, so OP will surely don’t have enough payments from Bitcoins i guess.
Also accepting Bitcoins openly in front of the government and not paying any tax also be harmful for both the OP and the coffee shop.
Moreover I would say it’s great to see that the OP has taken the great decision by accepting Bitcoins as one of their payment methods.
It would be great if OP could share the stats, like how much sales he has made through cryptos and whether he is using blockchain or Lightening network?

The success of your business will depend on the general adoption of Bitcoin and how customers will be ready to pay with Bitcoin if cheaper and faster than using fiat since you accept both.
But the problem is? are we really willing to pay for coffee using bitcoin ? i will be truth here and the answer i? nope I  will never consider my Bitcoin to remain in my wallet than to spend in using for coffee.
I trust bitcoin to stay longer in my position because i know that i will make more money in holding than using this just for small things.
Yeah I better reserve my Bitcoin and make use of faint currency is the need be since Bitcoin worth more than just spending it on a cup of coffee, in other news Bitcoin adoption is a good move that can improve the general perspective.
Lol, I don't understand your point because paying a cofee with bitcoin is not a bad thing, and it should only be fiat because btc is only for investment purposes.Lol, this is why Bitcoin was created in the first place; you haven't considered a broader application of this because it means that a broader adoption of this is imminent, as well as the future, in which only digital payments will be accepted.

Your statistics on the people using bitcoin in Nigeria is very correct. Even with the government regulations on stopping banks from involving in bitcoin transaction, the youths still see it as a means of survival and making transactions and payment easier. Using it to pay for a coffee, how safe is it for you with the laws surrounding the use of bitcoin in the country?

Crypto is not legalized in Nigeria every crypto investor is operating at their own risk. Bitcoin and other crypto curriencies were outrightly banned in Nigeria. Although Nigeria is a lawless country where laws are only made for the masses and the poor and not for the high classed citizens. Paying with bitcoin is only done on exchanges and you dare not include any information related to bitcoin or crypto currency in your transaction else your account stands to be frozen. It's risky doing crypto transaction in this part of Africa
No country that will come and say that Bitcoin is legalize for their country fully, but in Nigeria were bitcoin is not legalize you can buy bitcoins with your bank details and you can sell your bitcoin to someone you are interested to sell your bitcoin to, bitcoin exist in Nigeria i dont know if you want to government to announce it before you go know that Bitcoin is legal since everybody is using bitcoin is not legalize

Oh really? That’s cool. I saw a post in this forum before from someone who is living in Nigeria claiming that Bitcoin was banned in Nigeria for some reason, I think because of a protest and the poster even said his account was locked for buying and selling bitcoin.

If you’re ale to operate a coffee shop that is accepting Bitcoin in the same country then I am guessing that cryptocurrency is now a legal asset in the country? That would be really good, because a lot of people who would be coming there are likely not going to know about Bitcoin, so it’s going to help in spreading the word.
