Well talking about cryptocurrency going mainstream Wink  if this isn't then i wonder what is, this is definitely a plus in the part of crypto, the adoption keep spreading and touching those places you would think it will never get attention,
i read about the news on cnbc today and i was actually pleased, according to the article, the PayPal crypto services will first launch in the united state, the U.S citizens will be the first to text and enjoy the service,
Well Paypal is from US so what canw e expect from that?so basically it will be first launch for the US people and then sooner will be for everyone,Unless they will limit the usage.

This is definitely a game changer, i guess this news is some how related to the sudden pump of btc touching $13k and back down, i know this will strengthen the trust on crypto and especially btc, imagine the number of new people who will be willing to come in because of PayPal involvement! the road to adoption is very clear now imo, smart move by PayPal for taking this bold step, lets see if other giant players in the economy will want to miss out Grin, the game is on i can feel it.
We still need people to learn about Bitcoin first and not just because it was tagged with Paypal is the trust will come the same, remember that people still think people are scam.

What good news. Cool
I think this can make the world of digital currencies very popular.
And we can see an increase in demand for the world of bitcoins and digital currencies.
And with the increase in this trend, we should see the addition of digital currencies to banks and other centers.

It certainly does make cryptocurrency accessible to more than 300 million people worldwide but the small negative part in it isn that the private keys will be held by PayPal and not by the owners of the assets.
Maybe they should have a choice that some people can have their keys if they like to.

We all were expecting this to happen anytime soon. Good news I would say. Will help spread more about bitcoin among those who use paypal. But I wouldn't use paypal for holding bitcoins. You highly likely won't be having access to your private keys, so remember, those are not your coins (even though they are!). And paypal has a history of freezing your accounts. I know they do it for security reasons, but I am guessing this is going to happen more frequently since cryptocurrencies are involved. And you will be able to make payments to other paypal merchants, this means, Paypal can reverse the transaction if they want (like leaving you with a negative balance, even if you withdraw the coins).

If anyone want’s to get some information straight from the horse’s mouth, they’ve got a section on the matter at hand in their FAQs:
https://www.paypal.com/us/smarthelp/article/cryptocurrency-on-paypal-faq-faq4398?app=searchAutoComplete

I figure they will be evolving over 2021, as they broaden the geographical scope of application. Bitcoin purchases made there are custodial, with no chance as yet to move it off the platform on to one’s own wallet. That in itself is a big no for many here, but from a broader point of view, there is a very large part of the population that is incapable of being their own bank. This could turn Paypal into the largest custodial service around, so we better hope they’ve got their security crystal clear ...

Many people can't create personal bitcon wallets, because they can lose the seed, forget the password and lose their funds, so PayPal is very good for such cases!
But for me it is like taking my bitcoins to the bank for storage! Grin Contrary to Satoshi's ideas...

According to this Statista article:

http://www.statista.com/statistics/218493/paypals-total-active-registered-accounts-from-2010/  ( published August 13, 2020 )

The active paypal users is around 346 million worldwide. A lot of these users may not be knowledgeable about Bitcoin or Cryptocurrency. Paypal will be a good advertising platform and surely many of their users will be curious and then invest afterwards.

Finally, after several years of waiting. They were disallowed any kind of interaction with cryptocurrency in general, which was kinda lame to be honest especially at this year where cryptocurrency has already taken apart into this internet money. Probably they think that they are missing an opportunity to gather more customers by restricting cryptocurrency, but guess what they changed their mind.

This was their plan when they announce about collaborating with cryptocurrencies in the future and right now they are making some steps to prove it. This is one of that news that really triggers the pump of the price next year. This is Paypal we are talking about one of the leading online payment we have on the internet and it's now going to support the use of cryptocurrencies.

I had bad experiences with PayPal in the past, and I am not using their services for the past few years. But still I would say that this is a very encouraging piece of news. Although I hate PayPal, there is no doubt that Bitcoin's acceptability and adoption will get a big boost. The biggest challenge facing elderly and other inexperienced users is in storing their coins. You can store Bitcoins in an online wallet, but adequate precautions need to be taken. Now PayPal eliminates this hassle for the less experienced users, by allowing purchase and storage of Bitcoins on its platform.

I was wondering what caused the jump especially with the wall of sell orders around $12,000 to prevent a but this news appeared to have punched right through that. Currently over 13K  Cool
Anyway I am not a big fan of large jumps because the quicker the climb the quicker the fall in the past...slow and steady (upward) is my preference, but I don't count  Wink
me too   Grin , but I took the time to sell a few percent of my BTC, at least there will be a wave of prices going down and I'm ready to buyback
Short term trading can be considered a side job for long term investors. I hope there will be more adoption by the financial industry to strengthen the presence of Bitcoin in the public.

After new confirmed, BTC is pumping so hard. Now, BTC is almost 12800$/BTC. How do you think about this price increase? Is it uptrend?
Probably it is. Since PayPal is a huge network, it could also be influencial to other networks and also people to trust cryptocurrencies. This may then build a rapport with this thing called trust but that does not guarantee things. There's still no assurance that mass adaptation would occur but let's just hope that next year will be something positive for this market.
the news printed in severae  major newspapers, the price of BTC instantly skyrocketed to $ 12,700. Not only bitcoin, but some of the top altcoins have also skyrocketed
As what I have read from the article, the implementation would be next year but it did already make an impact because that is quite something unexpected. PayPal is widely being used across countries while Bitcoin still is working with the adaptation.

Quite an instant effect on the bitcoin market after the announcement from PayPal that they will offer cryptocurrency support to customers.
Since PayPal has a big market around the world which could boost the adoption of cryptocurrencies among customers and online merchants, hence daily trader and institutional investors take advantage by pushing the price to gain profits. Now, bitcoin price corrected after reaching $13,100 back to $12,800 as expected when the RSI rise above 70% indicates overbought asset.

Finally after the long wait and rumours spreading about Bitcoin being added as one of payment processors has finally come true. The only question now, why the long process. One of my theory about it, is Bitcoin has a big demand right now by the Institutional and retail investors we can see from news that many companies such as micro strategy and square had jump in.

the fear the centralized payment systems is starting to become palpable at this point. they can feel how their days are numbered and are going to become obsolete soon as they are replaced by the decentralized currency that doesn't need them anymore.
sooner or later bitcoin is going to be used for all the payment that services like Paypal are being used today with a much higher security and less fraud.

so obviously they want to extend their lifeline a little more by adapting to the new change. it starts  by letting their users buy bitcoin, then they start letting their users deposit and store bitcoin in their account and finally they become obsolete Cheesy
Centralized payment systems will live longer than what you/we expect sadly. The roots of the system is so deep in each nations that complete eradication of the system may result into a catastrophic financial ruin that is billion or even trillion in proportion. I can get by with the idea that they are integrating bitcoin in their system but there seems to be another problem that they need to address, make their registration easier yet secure, I think that they should strive balance between tight security and ease of access.

I'm saying few days ago that I don't hear any news that will make the price of Bitcoin goes up so I expected that it will stay between $11,000-$12,000 for quite some time.
Now the catalyst has been done and many are rumors regarding this already. Now its confirmed that they will support it.

This will be a good news for us and with the huge number of PayPal users worldwide, for sure that there will be some that will be curious about crypto or there will be some that will be using it.
Congrats to us holders Cheesy.
