is the ref parmeter outdated. i was testing phoenix but it said invalid parameter. I was trying -ref 50 and -REF 50. not luck. Also, does the mt work on 1070's. I have both amd rigs for the -ref question and 1070 rigs. I know -ref dont work on nvidia

Hi, I have a rig of 5 cards. 4 of them are Saphire Nitro 470 of 4 gb and one is a Saphire nitro 580 of 8 GB. If I install the 8Gb cards in the main slot of the motherboard, then the windows system does not recognize the Rx 580 and one card that is spared with it.
If I put in the main slot one of the 4 Gb card, the minner works fine, and all cards are taking shares.
How to put the 8 Gb card in the main slot and get all the other cards to work?
I changed them with places, but all is the same.

Seems weird, that would be a huge loss of performance for CGN cards.
RX470 8gb - 16 mh/s
RX480 8gb - 19.5 mh/s
RX580 8gb - 25 mh/s
Vega56 - 33-34 mh/s
Vega64 - 35-37 mh/s

For 5500XT, memory bandwith makes it impossible to reach 65MH/s.

I wouldn't use this "pill".

There is no way RX5500 XT does 65 mh/s. There is no source code at all. I would not trust to use this even to test in my PC.

I sent an email to that "developer" and it came back as non-deliverable. So it is just fake information.

Just 20 minutes ago I sent him the problem, everything is in order and is being delivered

The new features in this release are:

Added more Pascal-based Nvidia cards to the list of supported Nvidia cards for memory timing (straps)
Added new parameter -nvmem to force using straps even on unsupported Nvidia GPUs (use -nvmem 1 for GDDR5 cards, or -nvmem 2 for GDDR5X cards)

Here are some additional notes about the VRAM timing adjustments of Nvidia 10x0 cards:

Most recent Nvidia drivers require running as administrator (or as root under Linux) to allow hardware control, so you need to run PhoenixMiner as administrator for the VRAM timing options to work.
The four independently adjustable VRAM timings are controlled by four different parameters: -vmt1, -vmt2, -vmt3, and -vmr. The last one controls the memory refresh rate, and the first three are other timings. The possible values for each of them are from 0 to 100, where 0 are the default timings, and 100 is the most aggressive timing (most GPUs probably wont work with 100).
The -straps option gives an easy way to set one of the predefined levels of VRAM timing adjustment. The possible values are 0 to 6. 0 is the default value and uses the default timings from the VBIOS. Each strap level corresponds to a predefined set of memory timings ("-vmt1", "-vmt2", "-vmt3", "-vmr"). Strap level 3 is the fastest predefined level and may not work on most cards, 1 is the slowest (but still faster than the default timings). Strap levels 4 to 6 are the same as 1 to 3 but with less aggressive refresh rates (i.e. lower "-vmr" values).
When using the VRAM timing options, start with lower values and make sure that the cards are stable before trying higher and more aggressive settings. You can use -straps along with the other options. For example -straps 1 -vmt1 60 will use the timings from 1st strap level but -vmt1 will be set to 60 instead of whatever value is specified by the 1st strap level. In such case the -straps option must be specified first.
The VRAM timing options can be quite different between the GPUs, even when the GPUs are the same model. Therefore, you can (and probably should) specify the VRAM timing options separately for each GPU.

Unfortunately it doesn't work on my P106-90 3GB and P106-100 6GB cards. The "unable to apply strap" error is gone after adding -nvmem 1 option but the miner still doesn't apply any memory timings

it really depends on the card and setup. I still had most of my 4gb sapphires working as display cards in win10 after 350 eposh kicked in. (asuses worked, msi just stopped, some sapphires stopped earlier as well:))

yes the hash on 1080ti is degrading. probably due to dag size... not sure though as 1060 are the same.... now 1080ti does about 44-45.(you can achieve both with a pill and -straps in phoenix) but pill seem to be somewhat more stable

I need help. I'm using phoenix 4.5 and when I start miner, my first GPU is not working.

I think you got before ~50 Mh/s with 170W PL.

I'm using PL 190W with +150 core and +600 memory and get now ~49-50 Mh/s out of a 1080ti on ETH with pill.

It's DAG size. Have watched my 1070's decrease over the last year or so.. Been slowly migrating to rx5700's to make up for the slowing hashrate.

My other rig rx470(4GB) and rx580(4GB) working fine.

What to do?

Windows 7, dont have compute mode for amd.

It says...Good drivers. These are versions from 18.12.1.1 to 19.7.5 (inclusive), and from 19.12.2 to 20.4.2 (inclusive). These will allow you to mine until DAG epoch 372-373 and won't need restart of PhoenixMiner on each DAG epoch change.

Some of my rigs still work no problem and some of them doesn't

Just reporting an issue I ran into on v5.1b with mixed-gen ETH mining on one XFX RX 5700 8GB + one XFX RX 480 8GB + one MSI RX 480 8GB on Ubuntu 20.04 (via both minerstatOS v1.5 and v1.6). I have happily used a few versions of the PhoenixMiner for about four months on this mixed-gen rig without issue, so this was a bit of a surprise. Unfortunately, my normal log file didn't have any suspicious messages or errors to report.

This could be related to the OS and driver versions. We haven't tested on Ubuntu 20.04 yet (our Linux test rigs use Ubuntu 16.x and Ubuntu 18.x) and it is possible that the new AMD pro drivers for 20.04 are different that these for 18.04 (this is certainly true for 20.20-1098277, which is released only for 20.04 and is not supported by PhoenixMiner yet). We are going to build some rigs with 20.04 soon but this will only be reflected in the next release of PhoenixMiner.

Wow, thanks very much for the reply, @PhoenixMiner. For clarification, this also occurred under Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS (bionic). The 18.04.3 build is on amdgpu-pro 19.50-967956 drivers. For both builds (Ubuntu 18.04.3 and Ubuntu 20.04), rolling back to PhoenixMiner v5.0e resolved the issue. Thanks very much for the heads-up that Ubuntu 20.04 is not supported, yet! I'll keep investigating and let you know if I find anything else that might be useful.

Hey, there, PhoenixMiner - just wanted to report that I am still seeing this behavior for 5.1c, as well (on Ubuntu 18.04.3 / amdgpu-pro 19.50-967956). Rolling back to v5.0e still fixes the issue.
