I have RX580 4GB, whith on borad graphic i got only 21 mh/s using claymore with the last epoch, now with PhoenixMiner I get 30 mh/s.
is there any whay to use claymore straps and rx boost on PhoenixMiner to get 32mh/s ^^.
I tried to switch from claymore to phoenixminer but,

claymore: Rx 570 8gb 31.643 Mh / s
Phoenixminer: 30.254 Mh / s

EthDcrMiner64.exe -epool eth-eu1.nanopool.org:9999 -ewal xxx -epsw x -asm 2 -rxboost 1 -y 1

PhoenixMiner.exe -pool eth-eu1.nanopool.org:9999 -wal xxxxx  -pass x -acm

You should use AMD Memory Tweak (https://github.com/Eliovp/amdmemorytweak binaries are here compiled by me for those who don't know how to compile the source: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1sgYugFgFq5Ja89DexDvwgvP1dtRO2d7A) and you will 100% sure get 1.0%-1.5% more hashrate than Claymore.

Unzip WinAMDTweak.zip to some folder XXX. Run Claymore with your best settings. After that run a command prompt window with Administrative privileges, navigate to WinAMDTweak.zip unzipped folder XXX using 'cd XXX' command and after that run:

WinAMDTweak.exe --current

You will see the current memory setting of Claymore. Something like this:
https://www.cryptoprofi.info/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/word-image-49.png

Copy/Paste them down in text file.
After that stop Claymore. Run WinAMDTweak.exe --...  with these settings and run Phoenixminer.exe after that with the  same -cclock -mclock -cvddc -mvddc parameters like Claymore.

For Nvidia use PM 5.1 with -straps option.

Hi

It has given me this error several times, the rig freezes and until I go back and restart manually it does not mine, I am using windows 10 ver. 2004 and the recommended driver 19.7.5

Should I try a newer driver like 20.4.2?

Apologies for writing bad english

lol ^^ i know my cap is 32mh/s as i was with claymore.
so after using ONE CLICK TIMING PATCH  of PolarisBiosEditor I got this result:https://i.ibb.co/tsFpqGs/Capture.png

Is there a possible fix for nVidia hashrate drop or it must be implemented in the drivers itself?

The new features in this release are:

  • Added more Pascal-based Nvidia cards to the list of supported Nvidia cards for memory timing (straps)
  • Added new parameter -nvmem to force using straps even on unsupported Nvidia GPUs (use -nvmem 1 for GDDR5 cards, or -nvmem 2 for GDDR5X cards)
  • Removed some dead ethash-based altcoins and updated the support for the rest of them
  • Other small fixes

Here are the other features from 5.1b:

  • Added support for VRAM timing adjustments for Nvidia cards of 10x0 series (see the new command-line parameters -straps, -vmt1, -vmt2, -vmt3, and -vmr for more information)
  • Added -ttli option to automatically decrease the mining speed to avoid overheating the GPUs over the target temperature (useful when -tmax option is not supported by the drivers)
  • Added support for latest AMD drivers 20.7.1 under Windows and 20.20-1089974 under Linux
  • Fixed long-standing problems with -gpow option, which now works properly
  • Many other small improvements and fixes

Here are some additional notes about the VRAM timing adjustments of Nvidia 10x0 cards:

  • Most recent Nvidia drivers require running as administrator (or as root under Linux) to allow hardware control, so you need to run PhoenixMiner as administrator for the VRAM timing options to work.
  • The four independently adjustable VRAM timings are controlled by four different parameters: -vmt1, -vmt2, -vmt3, and -vmr. The last one controls the memory refresh rate, and the first three are other timings. The possible values for each of them are from 0 to 100, where 0 are the default timings, and 100 is the most aggressive timing (most GPUs probably wont work with 100).
  • The -straps option gives an easy way to set one of the predefined levels of VRAM timing adjustment. The possible values are 0 to 6. 0 is the default value and uses the default timings from the VBIOS. Each strap level corresponds to a predefined set of memory timings ("-vmt1", "-vmt2", "-vmt3", "-vmr"). Strap level 3 is the fastest predefined level and may not work on most cards, 1 is the slowest (but still faster than the default timings). Strap levels 4 to 6 are the same as 1 to 3 but with less aggressive refresh rates (i.e. lower "-vmr" values).
  • When using the VRAM timing options, start with lower values and make sure that the cards are stable before trying higher and more aggressive settings. You can use -straps along with the other options. For example -straps 1 -vmt1 60 will use the timings from 1st strap level but -vmt1 will be set to 60 instead of whatever value is specified by the 1st strap level. In such case the -straps option must be specified first.
  • The VRAM timing options can be quite different between the GPUs, even when the GPUs are the same model. Therefore, you can (and probably should) specify the VRAM timing options separately for each GPU.

Please let us know if you have any problems or questions related to PhoenixMiner 5.1c.

Man, I mine with Nicehash, as I want to earn BTC. After nicehash finish all benchmarks with all mining software included in it, it selects Phoenix Miner and ETH as most profitable for 5700XT card. We al know, as 5700 series cards are good good JUST for ETH or ETC coins.   Me and couple friends of mine, we have troubles only with 5700 series cards and phoenix miner, couple of them have rigs with Radeon VII, Nvidia 1070Ti RTX2070 or better cards, and no problems using Phoenix miner from 4.9C above. it looks just Radeon 5700 series (XT or XTX) to have trouble in last period of time with Phoenix Miner. And that began to happened in last period when Phoenix Miner was focused more and more for radeon 4GB or Nvidia 4GB cards, to keep them mining as longer possible.  I think that is the trouble, optimising it for 4GB cards, it gives problems just to 5700 series, and I don't know why... That's the mistery!

If I want to mine and earn ETH, I use standalone Phoenix Miner, I done that until 2 months ago. Now I want BTC.
I repeat - you can use Phoenix miner standalone to mine on nicehash and earn BTC. It's not necessary to use nicehashminer to mine on nicehash. Nicehash miner is just software that launches other miners. But it have many options and settings to launch other miners properly.
Your problem maybe in nicehash miner or it's settings.
But to determine that problem is in PM you just can try to launch Phoenix miner this way:
create start.bat in folder with phoenix miner with the next strings

@echo off
set GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR=1
set GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE=100
set GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS=1
set GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT=100
set GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT=100
PhoenixMiner.exe -pool stratum+tcp://daggerhashimoto.eu.nicehash.com:3353 -wal 33BSz4p1HavAW21cu4oHY44BFwdpDCtLxY.worker -pass x -proto 4 -stales 0 -amd -hstats 2 -cdm 0
pause

Here 33BSz4p1HavAW21cu4oHY44BFwdpDCtLxY - my nicehash internal BTC adress. Replace by yours.

I'm using nicehash miner as I want to earn BTC. Even trying to use separate Phoenix miner for mining directly ETH, troubles are exactly the same, after short period of time, system hangs out, and freezes.
You can use Phoenix miner to mine on nicehash just launching Phoenix miner with nicehash pool and wallet.
I didn't know what your problem is...
Honestly, I didn't believe that without bios mods, OC and UV Phoenix can hang the system...
Maybe it's system or driver problems...

i had the same problem i narrowed it down to phoniex needed a higer core and lower mining intensity
i run my modded 5700xt and 5700 cards with mi 12 and core 860
and they seem stable 3 days now at 55.6 mhs, phoniex says 120 watts but im sure its like 140

i think a few cards cannot handle lower than 850 core or it was the mi, value ill play with both settings more

Rig left 17 hours on Nicehash with SRB miner, 0 errors during this time period!!!

1 hour ago I go back to phoenix miner (5.1E version) included in nicehashminer too as SRB miner is included too.

3 fails in one hour with Phoenix miner, no memory OC in any of both cases!

Settings are the same on both cases (freq, voltages, fans, etc), for both Phoenix miner or SRB miner, I just installed Afterburner to show freqs and voltaje purpose, never used it anymore as cards have modded bioses.

So, I go back to SRB miner, even losing 1MH per card  versus Phoenix Miner.

I prefear stability, I lose more shares during system lock and restarts time caused by Phoenix Miner, instead using SRB.

Maybe Phoenix developer see this post and solve the problem, as long 4GB cards will be obsolete soon, I thing newer cards like Radeon 5xxx series are MORE IMPORTANT to be developed in futrther versions of Phoenix Miner than shitty RX 4xxx, RX 5xx.

I think trying to optimise Phoenix Miner for 4GB RX older cards, this reflects in instability for RX 5XXX cards, because with same miner Phoenix 5.1E rig never fails for Radeon VII cards since 149 hours ago, meantime RX5700XT rig, failed minimum 25 times.

What do you mean on errors and "3 fails"? More specific please.
Your problem may be in nicehash miner. You didn't know what command line it launches Phoenix miner... You must try to launch PM manually.
If you mean rejected shares(stales etc.), SRB just can didn't point them without additional option.

Hi 2 all!

I want to share what I have observed in last 2 months.

First, I want U to know as I know how to mine, I know to set virtual memory, tweaks, OC, I have minimum 150% power reserve on PSU's, etc, so not noob user here, I have tried all possibilities, with or without IGPU on CPU (knowing issues between AMD and IGPU Open CL parts from driver).
.

Now, the problems:

I have one rig with 6 pieces Radeon 5700XTX (moded bioses), first I had it since rig made, on Intel B250 chipset and now trying it on Intel H110M chipset too (the further problems as will be described are manifesting the same on both different chipset motherboards in the last 6 weeks, first I have suspected stupid Intel chipset, that's why I try now on earlier chipset H110M).

In last period, no matter wich drivers I have used (I tried better said) on all 20.x.x series except last one 20.7.1, wich not supported by Phoenix yet, rig fails randomly with no reason, phoenix miner freezes, all GPU's running in the last seconds before system (windows 10 1909) gets locked, all freezed, even remote desktop see it as offline, just hard reset revives rig.
Then after reset/restart, situation repeats, I locked into log.txt file on phoenix miner folder, no graphic card fails, none showing 0.000MH, rig freezes and fail at around 52.xxMH .
I mention in the last month, I have left mem freqs stock at 1750MHz, to be sure the fail is not because GPU's mem OC, so exclude OC can generates fails, I tried leaving stock even GPU freq and voltage too, so stock all card settings, as factory.
Same problem, random fails, sometimes after 20-40 minutes, sometimes after 3-5 hours, and before that it have run more than 200 hours perfectly with no fail or intrerruption, no matter if OC/undervolt GPU or stock freqs on mems and gpu's, same rig, same settings, same temperature (57-62 celcius degrees).
I have customized windows version (no antivirus, no junks, no updates by any kind), that worked perfectly until last almost 2 months singe problems has begun.

Problerms are not daily, it happens in last time period, 3 weeks ago, rig runs smooth for 198 hours with 20.4.2 driver, and 4.9C Phoenix.
Now, even PM 4.9C seems to be not stable anymore too, a friend of mine also with 5700XT cards claim it too, so many fails!

What the hell is happening?

Is maybe because Phoenix is trying to help as much as possible mining with old RX 4xx-5xx 4GB series cards in implementation of last versions  of PM above 4.9C (most stable miner ever for me), creating problems for RX5700(XT) series?

I have observed as closer come to the DAG 37x wich will go obsolete 4GB cards for mining, and more trying/upgrading versions pf PM (now is 5.1E) to keep mining with old 4GB Radeons, can affect in negative matter the RX5700(XT) to many fais miner?

The other rig that a friend of mine owns it, I have made it with 6 Radeon VII, rig runs flawless for weeks, no fails, no intrerruption,I have used on it same customized windows version 1909, (no antivirus, no junks, no crappy updates), both systems using valid keys for activation.

Why only radeon 5700(XT) rigs fails randomy? I have 2 more friend wich shares the same type failures, they have good rigs too, with adequate PSU's, so no hardware troubles, as their rigs works flawless months ago, they-re have monthly maintenance, cleaning, etc...

Also for the ones wich uses Radeon VII cards, the best driver (wich better boost and stability) is 19.7.4, I have tested alot of drivers but this 19.7.4 rocks!

So, maybe anyone can solve mystery why just Radeon 5700(XT) fails with no reason?

Today, since early morning, I tried SRB miner instead phoenix, 0 fails until now, but around 1MH lower hashrate for each graphic card. In the end I prefear to lose 5-6MH on rig and stability instead 10 restarts by day because Phoenix fails ald lock the rig.

i had the same problem i narrowed it down to phoniex needed a higer core and lower mining intensity
i run my modded 5700xt and 5700 cards with mi 12 and core 860
and they seem stable 3 days now at 55.6 mhs, phoniex says 120 watts but im sure its like 140
