Hi all,

I got a question that what is the Page File size or Virtual Memory of a rig? Currently, it has been increased to at least 49g. However, I heard that the size of VM should be based on the total number of the GPU on the rig and the memory of each GPU. if so the VM should be different on each rig?

Also, is 49g the initial value or max value?

In theory yes each rig will have a different virtual memory depending on what GPU's they have.

If so, what is 49g based on?? if my rig has 10 * rx580 8g. what would be the initial value and max value??
If windows it managing it it's probably making it what ever it wants lol. If you set it to manual it should be set to at least 80gb (this only accounts for the cards you have to add more for windows needs)

so is 80g the initial value or max value? that is my initial question, as in windows 10, you need to enter 2 values, initial and mix

not sure how you figured that 10GB of Virtual Memory per GPU is needed.
In fact I have several 11GPU rigs running phoenix on windows with 60GB HD... (That's tough and I doubt that anyone of you there is capable of doing so, proper win pro with tuned GP, image, packages and the rest vmware/ aconis deployment, ...)
and you surely do not need more than 5GB per GPU for ETH

as I recall some 8+ months ago 12GPUs stopped working with 42GB on eth or was it 11 or 47? ohh who cares.
my 4gb polarises are happy on etczil with xmr on the side all going well on 60gb m2

The new beta version is ready. You can download PhoenixMiner 5.7b from here:

PhoenixMiner_5.7b_Windows.zip
PhoenixMiner_5.7b_Linux.tar.gz

To check the integrity of the downloaded file, please use the following hashes (you need the last file PhoenixMiner_NVRTC_Windows.zip only if you want to mine BCI with Nvdia cards under Windows):

The new features in this release are:

  • Implemented new "turbo" kernels (-clkernel 3) for AMD Polaris cards that can work with the current DAG sizes over 4 GB. Note that -clkernel 3 uses double the VRAM and will provide slightly faster hashrate with slightly higher power consumption. You can use the -rvram command-line parameter to specify how much VRAM to be left unused
  • Increased the maximum supported DAG epoch to 600 (i.e. until about Sep 2023)
  • Implemented full hardware control for AMD RX6900/6800/6700 cards under Linux. Note that with these cards under Linux you need to specify relative core voltage: e.g. -cclock -50 will set the core voltage to be 50 mV under the default value
  • Added ROCr kernels for Vega, Radeon VII and Navi cards. With these kernels you will be able to run these cards with Linux drivers 20.45 and later but the performance will be lower than with the older PAL drivers and kernels. We recommend using AMD Linux driver 20.30 for all cards except RX6900/6800/6700
  • Fixed an issue causing crashing with some RX6900/6800/6700 cards under Linux (there is no need to run these cards with -clkernel 0 anymore)
  • Added support for AMD Windows drivers up to 21.7.2. Note that Radeon VII cards will not work with drivers 21.6.1 or higher - you need to use older drivers for proper operation of these cards
  • Added support for AMD Linux drivers up to 21.20 (use older drivers for Vega or Radeon VII cards as they will not work with 21.20)
  • Numerous other fixes and small improvements

For more robust integrity check, you can use our GPG public key, which was verifyed with ETH transaction from our main devfee account as explained here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.56755869. Here are the signatures for the files in this release:

Sorry just use a static size. Min and max the same number. Maybe try like 90gb or 100gb (if you have the disk space)

But I think you problem is in the start bat. You have -worker when it should be -wal and at the end of the wallet address add .worker name

thanks fixed!

This miner do not have "dag cache" option for improvement dual mining?  Huh

Yea I'm hoping they include this into the next release. Had to change to lolminer do to invalid shares from overclocks applied during the DAG building while on EZIL pool

If you quote the post that has the fake download, you should remove the link, so you're not spreading it and report the post.
I reporting this kind of Links and posts now for some years and the link was not clickable as have edited in the quote of the post.
Anyway was just a little surprised that it got deleted and i only think that the mitchell bot got it maybe .
And i reported the post and also have written it in my Thread i have done for that here : Report Malware and Suspicious Links here so Mods can take Action !

Dont know why my warning post about the Fake Github download link that was posted earlier also got deleted !
Maybe it was the Mitchell bot that deleted it , but anyway just watch out when some Github Links getting posted here from Users.
Mostly they are fake links with Malware , the real links you can find on the first post in this Thread here.

When the fork hits i think at first we will see a drop in rewards. That will make some move to other coins as they become more profitable. But overall those people moving will drop the diff making our rewards move up again. Overall i don't expect a big drop in my rewards as it balances out.
