Hi, Jameous! Did you check if your GPU is in Compute mode in AMD Radeon Software instead of Graphics mode? (settings > Graphics > Advanced > GPU workload > compute) I've got an RX 570 and I'm getting about 30 MH/s. I'm using the following commands in the start_miner.bat file for the Binance pool:

...
Hope this helps,

Falcão

[edit]

By the way, my setup is pretty old :

Asus Rampage 3 Extreme (over 12 years old)

i7 965 OC to 3.6 MHz

6 GB of DDR3 RAM @1333 MHz

[edit 2]

Just did a little research on your MOBO and it is as old as mine, same cpu socket (LGA 1366) and chipset (X 58), so I'd guess your issues are in fact related to your GPU's settings

Yes, I've tried everything. First off, compute mode does not appear in MY ATI settings, IF it even fully launches! It gets stuck and have to shut down and reboot. I'm on 21.4.1, so it should be there, and I looked on a computer running a RX470, and it was there, so I know where it is. I can set it with some program I found from somewhere, AND I have my script in PM do it to when it launches, and that does nothing. (I've tried the mining driver, and a doz others and still nothing changes it)

I've OC and UV'd, and that helps a bit, but only from low 9s to sometimes high 9s.

I've also tried some BIOS mods that were custom made for my card and those just shut everything down after a few seconds, and no, not heat related as it never got above 55c.

I just checked your mobo and it has "PCI Express 3.0 x4 M.2", so, thanks for the try, but that does not answer my question about PCIe 2.0 mobo being my issue.

Maybe someone with an old moldy potato with PCIe 2.0 and a RX 580 can try to replicate, or has had this happen can chime in?

Thanks tho!

this is enabling compute for dev0:

SCAM!!!!   GTFO! Angry

ANOTHER SCAM POST WAS ABOVE YOURS AND DELETED? --

Anymore, I just report them.  The mods will delete them almost as fast as the bots post them.  I have made more than 100 reports that resulted in a scam post deletion.  I just report them.

But, your angry response now points to a good post, I believe.  I am angered by these scam campaigns and smear campaigns also, but the mods are doing their best to contain the truly dangerous posts.  Just report the scam software posts.

Hi PhoenixMiner dev team, Is it possible to set new parameter to control/limit the GPU power usage , even though the there is -gpow but this is just control the GPU usage % but the GPU power usage still very high; as it is useful to protect Nvidia GPU for long run, pls consider.

It's already there. From the PhoenixMiner readme.txt
Quote
-powlim
Set GPU power limit in % (from -75 to 75, 0 for default)

-powlim --- > it is not working as i put -powlim -75 the power still unchange after added this parameter, pls check

Try running PhoenixMiner as an administrator. Hope it helps!

[edit]

The Readme.txt doesn't specifically mention the need for the -powlim command to be run as an administrator, but it's worth a shot.

From the Readme.txt file:

Hardware control options
************************

Here are some important notes about the hardware control options:

* Most recent Nvidia drivers require running as administrator (or as
root under Linux) to allow hardware control, so you must run
PhoenixMiner as administrator for the VRAM timing options to work.

* The AMD memory timing options ("-rxboost", "-vmr", "-straps"),
with the notable exception of "-mt", also require running as
administrator (or as root under Linux)

Hi guys.

I've been mining for around 3-4 months and In the last month I've noticed my hashrate almost cut in half (I'm running 2 rigs)

I'm running one in an AMD RX5600M which has a reported hashrate of 34 MH/s but recently I'm finding that for the most part of the day (since I monitor them almost in an hourly basis) it only does 20-25 MH/s as its effective hashrate.

It was not like this before.  Any ideas/help would be appreciated.

Hash rate is related to your computer, and generally nothing external.   Now, temperatures can be a problem, but also, video drivers.   On Windows, those pesky Windows Updates that keep showing up can revert your video drivers to a "bad" version.   Try re-installing the latest Radeon Software and see if that helps.

That's weird...

I haven't BIOS moded my card, so I would suggest a clean install of your OS (win10? That's what I'm using) along with changing to the default BIOS on your GPU. I'm on 21.4.1 aswell.

Pcie 2.0 has half the bandwidth of the 3.0, so I'm not sure this would be the reason for getting less than half the hash rate of what I'm getting with a weaker card without BIOS mod.

Worst case scenario, try to get a used MOBO with pcie 3.0 if you plan on mining for the future, my rampage 3 extreme is going for around usd 200 on ebay in the US and you could in theory use it with more than 4 gpus without much hassle (i only have one).

I'm on W7, trying to avoid 10 if possible. My install discs are 90 mins away, so I'm not doin that right now lol.

And I'm on stock BIOS and physical switched to mining mode, and checked both BIOS to be sure they are correct.

PCI2 2 is prob the case why it's not running fully, I'd just like conformation.

Like when I first got it, I tried playing the reboot RE2, and it wouldn't run worth a crap, so, it's a sign I should have noticed.

When this computer was new, it was a top of the line AVID edit machine, but that was like 08 or 09, so it's been a while. The only reason I'm on it now is my half as old computer bit the dust suddenly, so I'm kinda stuck. I didn't try any games on the old one btw, so no benchmark there either.

I have some coins, if only Doge could hit like $2 ea, I'd take 1/4 and build a new one lol. (well, 2, one to mine and one for me!)

If you want to know for sure get a usb memstick 16gb or bigger and stick one of the linux mining OSes on it.  Can boot and see if cards mine then its windows (7).

I have nothing to compare it to since I just started last month.

But I'm having problems even getting over 15MH on my XFX RX-580! I usually run about 9ish.

It's on an old ASUS P6T-SE which is PCIe 2.0 but GPU-Z says 580 can run on a PCIe 3.0.

Could that be why its not working as hard as everyone elses 580s, or has anyone had 20+MH on an old MOBO with this card?

Thanks!

REM

setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0
setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100

REM IMPORTANT: Replace the ETH address with your own ETH wallet address in the -wal option (Rig001 is the name of the rig)

REM pause

goto START

You can also use the  " -acm " command to enable compute mode, as shown in the Readme.txt from PhoenixMiner file:

-acm
Turn on AMD compute mode on the supported GPUs. This is equivalent
of pressing "y" in the miner console.

Remember to check your specs for the following commands, since they are for overclock and undervoltage configurations of the GPU:

-tt
-fanmin
-cclock
-cvddc
-mclock
-mvddc-mt
-rxboost

Hope this helps,

Guys I using few weeks PhoenixMiner on six pc with RTX3070.

After every few days on +- 2 pieces PhoenixMiner crash, and close from running applications phoenixminer.exe.
This is doing only sometimes, randomly, always only on a few pieces, not always on same computers.

All six computers are identical, same windows, same updates, same applications, same hardware specs (W10+5800H+RTX3070+16GB+1TB).
Via MSI Afterburner I only downlocked GPU Core, GPU MEM is left on default speed, no OC.
My computers run always +- 2days at a time. After these 2 days are switched to WindowsSleepMode for +- 8hours. And after again start mining for +-2 days at a time.
Now my computers have vbs script/file in windows startup folder, for automatical launch bat file for PhoenixMiner.

Exist in PhoenixMiner some parametr, which I can write to bat file for restart application phoenix.exe if crash or stop work or notright turn-on after WindowsSleepMode?

Today I found information that for example T-Rex have function watchdog, so I was wondering if PhoenixMiner has anything like that.

Just weird but the estimated mining reward drop by at least 50% compared last month. Do you experience the same? Is it correlated to Eth 2.0?

Increase in difficulty results in less rewards.

True, May was the peak with 8.x P hashrate and we manage to mine double digit ETH. June is 7.x P, comparatively less from last month but the estimated earning cutdown to half from last month.

not true. the reward is down due to low tx fees
