I have got a question which is related to weird problem. When for all the people who mine, they will squeeze every bit of their graphic cards to tune up the hashrate. However, I am doing the same thing but it is my first time mining. I changed the fan curve with afterburner for 3080 rtx graphic cards. Without mining, the setting of afterburner is applied to the graphic cards. In other words, it obeys the rules and works as expected. However, whenever mining or mining with phoenix Miner, the fans of the graphic card stopped and even the Vram junction temp temperature or the core temp of the CPU shoots up, the fans are not spinning at all. The 3080 we have is Zotac Trinity OC.

Just wonder how to make the fan work while mining? If anybody could help, really appreciate it.
If you are using Windows, then download MSI Afterburner and set the desired fan mode.
Download the latest version.
I do not use other software from video card manufacturers.
If you are using HiveOS or RaveOS, then set the maximum temperature of the video card.

Yes I am using window, MSI afterburner is what I am using. But I cannot solve the weird problem and not sure how to set it to fan desired mode. It does not run as I adjusted and the temp keeps going up. I have tried setting up the fan curve and it just gets ignored when mining.

Have you tried setting fan speed in BIOS as a workaround?

Nothing is true, nicehash are criminals!!!!
IMPORTANT! In light of the smear campaign from Nicehash, we have published a full timeline with our communication with them, and our thoughts about their failed attempt to tarnish our reputation.

Hello, sometimes my miners turn off randomly, using 5.6d but I was also encountering the same issue on 5.4c.

There is no indication of why, looking at the logs all of the GPUs are reporting a proper hash and then I see this message

Code:
2021.05.19:05:14:23.233: unkn Quitting...

Any ideas?

Windows? Ubuntu? Check the corresponding times in your system logs and see what happened at that time.

Windows 10, I have checked the system logs the first time it happened and there was nothing out of the ordinary, its been happening on all 4 of my machines, the only thing I have noticed is that the log size after it failes is always around 108 MB.

My log file settings are currently

Code:
-log 1
-logfile log*.txt
-logdir c:\somedirectory\logs

I am going to try setting the logsmaxsize to unlimited to see if that changes anything but it says the default is 200MB so I don't see how it could be related.

What scumbags nicehash are. Trying to smear a good program so they can get more miners using their crap so they make more money in the end. Fuck them. Been using Phoenix for awhile now and its
been good, seen performance increases with the latest version, especially with my 1080ti and ethenlargementpills. Thanks Dev.

I upgraded to 5.6d and I use us1 pool.. my reported hash is 450 but the current hash is not going over 350.. why my cards are not getting enough load.. are the pools not busy due to the current drop in prices? Thx

The latest 5.6d version in Hiveos is seeming much more stable for my NVidia rigs than TRex. Higher hashrate doesn't matter if the rig randomly stops mining while I sleep. Thank you for your effort.

Can I dual mine ETH + ZIL with this miner using 2 different pools?
Have the same question! Didn't find in documentation anything like pool-strategy option, to switch to pool with lowest epoch..

I give up on trying to fix this issue on my own. I'm turning to the community for help.
Here's the deal.
HiveOS running Phoenixminer 5.6d with 6 RX 5700XT Sapphire Pulse cards.
They're running really hot! They all have the exact same memory type (Micron) and are all flashed with the exact same bios.
My tuning commands are simply: -tt 90 -fanmin 95
My clocks are as follows: (these seem to be the most stable and optimal during the Spring/Summer months)
FAN 99
CORE 1400
VDD 800
MEM 910
MVDD 1300
VDDCI 800

Now some cards are running at 57MH/s. That's fine. That's what I want... at minimum. Those temperatures are 68 Core and 102 Memory.
But others are 50MH/s and temperatures are 74 Core and 106 Memory. So I'm chalking it up to thermal throttling.

Okay. So let's boost the fan speeds... but the fans are already set to 99%. But HiveOS is telling me that the fans are only running at speeds between 81% - 88%. No where near the 99% that I've set the command (-tt 90 -fanmin 95) to.
Where did I screw up?

Drivers 20.40
Kernel 5.4.80
OS Ver 0.6-203@210519

You're really pushing the limits of those 5700 xts.  I have 6 5700 xt red devils running:

1350 gpu/850 volts/885 memory, and the memory timings from 1500 MHz.  I'm getting about 54.7 mh/s.  Fans run ~24% with temps in the low to mid 50s for the gpu (I'm on ubuntu so I'm not sure of the memory temp).  They are rock solid.  That is slower than your top, but about the same considering your throttling.

It's up to you, but your only option is to scale back your memory or open them up and put in better thermal pads.  (I'd suspect your cards would last longer too.)

It's all about winning or losing the silicon lottery. It's hard to treat them all the same.

My HiveOS settings for my RX 5700 (non-XT) Red Dragon are core: 1380, dpm: 5, VDD: 780, Mem 905.  With the above settings I get a steady 55+ MHs at 100w. This is with the BIOS mod (copypasta memory timings).  On TeamRedMiner, I get 44.8 MHs at most but have to bump up mem to 910.

It's about 36-40C outside my house right now and my fan is set to 80 but rarely gets there (usually at 78 most).  I have a box fan pointed to my rig which blows the hot air to a window.

Hey hey

I tried to start dual mining directly to Nicehash. So i edited the "start miner" with the line

PhoenixMiner.exe -pool stratum+tcp://daggerhashimoto.eu.nicehash.com:3353 -wal "my NH btc wallet" -pass x -proto 4 -stales 0 -dpool blake2s.eu.nicehash.com:3361 -dwal "my NH btc wallet" -dcoin blake2s

it logs in nicely, creates dag files for both eth and blake but the last i see is 93%, black screen and a crash.

the last lines are:

for eth only works fine at 47.2 MH/s on Vega 64. Newest driver.

Am I missing something obvious?
