A US based pizza chain has started accepting crypto currency as a payment method across South American nations. Burger king and Church's chicken already accepting crypto currency as a payment.

"Pizza hut nowadays cannot be detached from these technological advances and all those incorporating new approaches for daily necessities," said Richard Elkhouri, general director for venezuelan operations of pizza chain.

More than 20,000 shops around South America have been accepting crypto

So, What you guys think the government will do if people started using crypto for buying selling on a large scale as the control of system of monetary fund is going out of the hands of government.

This is a great news for the crypto community. If more than 20,000 shops around South America alone are accepting crypto, then it's only a matter of time before it becomes full blown.
I am not surprised that restaurants are among the first to accept bitcoin or crypto as payment. I have always maintained that it is only when the masses can buy their day-to-day goods and services with crypto have we truly gotten to the mass adoption.
I am sure, with this great leap towards mass adoption, many other companies and even small scale businesses will follow suit. Let's look forward to many of this in 2021

Well, I guess this is a start. It isn't odd that restaurants that cater more for deliveries are the ones that are first implementing this since Bitcoin is for cashless transactions. I guess this opens up the crypto industry towards other restaurants, and hey, maybe other official businesses as well ranging from technology, clothing, etc. I just hope that it isn't going to be restricted by countries from now on, since that would be hugely detrimental to it actually developing worldwide.

Oh and on another note, glad to see news about Bitcoin being seen as a "currency" instead of an "investment" after quite some time.

Finally, one company accepts bitcoin. That will make the other company will curious about that. If that can succeed, and many people curious about the payment using bitcoin, that can attract more companies to use it. While Pizza Hut can announce this, they can invite more people to come to their store and buy Pizza using bitcoin. The feeling will be the same as they use debit/credit cards, but using bitcoin will give them a different experience.

This is pretty big.

Imagine, those number of stores support bitcoin as payment; this would also serve as a form of advertisement to people about the existence of the blockchain technology. With more users knowing and using bitcoin, this would more or less attract other businesses from accepting bitcoin as a payment. Ultimately, the government would have to implement regulations but this may actually remove the stigma of bitcoin as a scam currency.

Actually there are already huge names in food industry accepting crypto as a mode of payment but it does depend on the region to where the restaurant or food business is located, likewise with other businesses. Such that Food business1 will have branches across different countries, but only in countries wherein cryptos are widely being used, are where branches which are accepting it as a medium for transactions. But this is indeed a good thing because more businesses are choosing to adopt this technology.

Nice decision for Pizza Hut in Venezuela and some other selected countries in South America. They needed to do something with the ballooning inflation there. Their choice is to continue business and start accepting Bitcoin or close their business operations.

If they continue with their business in a place like Venezuela where an amount that can buy a whole pizza today might not afford even a slice in the succeeding month, they have to embrace even as volatile a currency as Bitcoin for as long as its value is not freely falling down.

Nothing new. Just increasing the hype of something that is expected to happen already.

We saw different institutions buying Bitcoin already and we saw different huge companies accepting crypto in the past and we expect that this will continue until the time will come that most of these companies will integrate crypto into their payment system. A good news indeed since this is another step towards adoption and creating awareness to the people.

Took them so long before they did that.  Pizza day is already becoming a tradition in crypto community, it can;t be ignored anymore and I wouldn't be surprise if they celebrate it as well and give discount when the day come.

The crypto adoption in Venezuela is not a new thing. It began few years ago (after the terrible hyper-inflation) and in the bear phase of crypto market, the nation is one of the most crypto friendly nations in Latin American nations.

Pizza Hut Venezuela Now Accepts Crypto Payments. I am not surprised to know they accepted crypto and one of them is DASH. The altcoin has its huge communities in Venezuela.

Pizza Hut Venezuela accepted Bitcoin, DASH, and XPT (the token of Crypto Buyer). See their tweet: https://twitter.com/cryptobuyer/status/1332318397846138881

That's great not just BTC but also some altcoins. But this is Venezuela which they seem to make crypto legal already. To hope see it legal in the entire South America.

Now with this new good news, we can say that Bitcoin is gaining more and more positive feedbacks than before. This is how it should be and many more establishments and services will accept bitcoins as a means of payment. nevertheless, this kind of scenario will gonna follow up with the other company as well and for the climax, the bitcoins price in the market will rise when many more will follow the footstep of this pizza hut company.

I saw a video this past weekend where the CEO of Cryptobuyer announced the life rollout on crypto payments through their gateway in Pizza Hut stores. The galloping inflation in that country has led people to flee as soon as possible to USD, Bitcoin or stablecoins, in order to preserve the value of their money. The crypto community is growing there out of sheer need and wit, and payment gateway solutions have a big potential business opportunity there (P2P BTC implementations also take place, but larger corporations use gateways to avoid the TX confirmation wait).

Great move pizza hut. I can imagine that in a decade the majority of shops/restaurants will accept bitcoin and lightning network will be more widespread. In my country things aren't that well with crypto, we only have a bitcoin ATM.

I'd love to eat 2 pizzas with bitcoin with 0.001BTC. Even if someone can eat a thousands of them with the same amount in 2030 and starts laughing at meTongue
Grin you reminds me about first economic deal of BTC10,000 for 2 pizzas Cheesy

There's a lot of adoption happening amidst this pandemic and this positive news is really a good sign that this 2020 not only bring negativities, but also hope for investors.

Pizza Hut is one of the popular fast-food restaurant around the world and I know that most of the people like eating Pizza.

This bitcoin adoption will make btc community to have an easier payment transaction with them, I'm looking forward for other businesses to engage in cryptocurrency, especially bitcoin.

Yes, Pizza Hut Now Accepts Bitcoin, Ethereum in Venezuela.

I'm not surprised by the move though, specially in Venezuela wherein bitcoin has somewhat become their "monetary" system as their bolivars has totally collapse. It would be great though if other Pizza hunt around the world specially around Asia will also starts to accepts bitcoin and other crypto, it's gonna be huge.

Another milestone again for bitcoin adaptation, and for sure many big companies will also be attracted to use bitcoin as an alternative payment,  I hope Pizza hut will do this not only in South America but also internationally worldwide.

bruv, i doubt this would happen any time soon. i mean a few fast-food chains aren't going to do anything. like the change has to be massive - large-scale companies and huge payments like house loans and stuff have to be changed via crupto. i haven't seen anything not even fast food chains around where i am accepting bitcoin. like it's good though, i would love to use my btc to buy a burger.  Grin
plus governments would never let it get that big. they would immediately put in measures to prevent this sort of stuff happening on a large-scale basis. an economy doesn't work without tax and btc would become a loophole. i am quite positive btc will stay an asset.

That is a good step forward for corporations to integrate a payment system that accepts cryptocurrency. This is a good thing in my opinion, not creating your own blockchain like the other companies, they just want to be part of this growing bitcoin craze that only the pioneers will benefit the most.
