Yes. They are not common vacation destinations. But I am more interested in adventure and exotic locations, then just sight-seeing and partying. The Antarctican adventure seems to be unlikely, as there are legal restrictions. But I am planning to visit the other four locations.

In my early 30s I had been to all my areas of primary interest. All over Australia, East + West + Central USA, a couple of pacific islands.

I think some WWII sites or Russian cities would be interesting but one thing I have found is that a metropolis just blends into any other metropolis.

In my late 30s now, I think I would like to spend some more time on warm, tropical beaches in far north Queensland or back on the pacific islands during their winters.

I haven't been to Vietnam yet, but I've been all over SEA and I can almost guarantee that you could get by on $30 a day. Even drinking beer and such. Cost of living is quite low in the region.

if you want to see a place similar to new zealand, at a fraction of the cost, consider northern vietnam.. man, that region was fucking awesome! high mountain scapes, and you can take a boat ride through their rivers. you could probably get by with spending $30 a day in VN.

I think some large metropolitan areas have parts that are known to be specifically dangerous. But in the jungle I'd be much more worried about snakes or something like that than getting robbed Tongue
