Yes, America had slaves for a while. And in the century before that, Africans had European slaves. And in the centuries precediing that, the Arabs enslaves both white and black folks. With the main difference that while both blacks and whites wanted male slaves for labor, the Arabs primarily wanted female slaves for sex slavery.
