Decided to pull my investment amount out, and HODL the rest of my coins, and Cryptopia just double sold my coins even though I clicked the sell button once, taking twice as many as I wanted to sell

you will be glad it did that trust me.

Will DUMP hard......  Shocked    Better off selling all of them and re buying after it dips.  It could drop as low as .01 honestly.  Probably more like .02-.03 but you never know.

I agree.  If most are still waiting on their ico coins, then you might have just had a "miracle"  Smiley

nah, u are reaching. 80% already have their coins. even the second dump wont go below 5-6 cents. you're welcome

You were spot on. Didn't go below $.05 cents. I was basing myself off of what everyone was saying that MOST people had not received their ico coins so you would expect a dump. Doesn't appear that will happen if that's the case.  Unless we get another surprise. lol

^^^ It's an XMR clone, that's why it feels right.  Wink

This could end up being ETNs Achilles heal if it aims to position itself as an everyday wallet.
Monero transactions typically take 26 minutes complete at the standard 10 confirmations.
Imagine waiting at a gas station or a store for 30 minutes for your payment to reflect.
The ETN devs will need to think of ways to cut this waiting time for ETN to get the mass adoption it craves for.

Everyone, I think we all need to understand that certain individuals/groups will be trying to hamper ETN's birth.  For example, I quite expect that a certain volume of traffic, which is causing these issues, is contributed by DOS/DDOS attacks. So let be patient and supportive over these coming weeks! Enjoy the roller coaster ride and remember you can get off at any time!

I thought this was exactly the reason why they hired hackerone to prevent all this from happening and shut shop for ages??

Indeed shutting shop for over month and hiring hackerone has done what exactly ?

Prevented any of us losing our coins maybe?! With all the massive hacks and big losses happening in Crypto recently, they did the right thing.

The clue is in the name...Hackerone. They have nothing to do with the overloaded network. They were hired to to test the security and they did just that. It was a big success because we still have our coins.

They updated on Facebook about the network issues, it is something Amazon are looking at. I expected that this would probably happen, just way too many people all rushing in at exactly the same time.

Very good post. I think most people are being too harsh on them. I prefer it being down a month than all coins getting hacked. To me, something about ETN just feels right, despite the mistakes they have made and will probably continue to make. But shutting everything down to protect the investors (as annoying as it may have been) was the right thing to do.

Yep, like today it seems like Hitbtc has been hacked or something like it.  It has been impossible to access it for 24 hrs.  They claim is DDos
So yes I am happy that ETN management went with Hackerone for our coins safety.
Now lets hope they can scale their Amazon servers and have enough DDos protection so that this coins can sail smoothly.
Good volume and buy support at Cryptopia.  Amazing that Cryptopia is doing ok, the only problem I have experienced is that I need to refresh the page to erase buys and sells that get stuck on the display.   So always look a the last executed  prices to check if buy and sell orders are correct.

You can never scale to beat DDOS so you just have to deploy counter measures.  This ti-for-tat will continue over the coming weeks as each side attempts to beat the other.  The good news is that Amazon are involved and I am sure they do not want to lose face!

referral spam everywhere here Sad

It is called viral marketing lol Smiley

I just got off the phone to the main man himself, Richard Elis. I expressed my deepest concerns and frustrations with not being able to access my coins and he gave me a secret code to claim FREE COINS. Use code: XXXXXX - it will work for anybody!

Thats a very nice try to attempt to fool some naive users. I have replaced your code in the quote above.
At least the other spammers tried to be honest about the referral code.

It appears I have majorly underestimated some members intelligence, it was meant to be a joke in response to the viral comment Tongue

Sometimes humour does not come across pretty well on a forum. Maybe emoticons are meant to be used to emphasise on the tone of the message. Apologies if I offended you.

No problem! I agree sometimes on forums it's not always easy to interpret a poster's intentions but I was genuinely trying to make light of the recent referral code spam plaguing this forum recently.  Grin

I'am very proud that I'am one of those who believed and invested in the pre ico, the coins potential is very high plus the pwople behind in this project are real people conducting real videoa of themselves, very transparent. The pre ICO was a big success I can still remember buying etn on their website and they have this error prompt that they are receiving massive request from people and I have to refresh just to buy etn, up until this moment I have never felt that kind of satisfaction on buying a Coin. I will support Electroneum in which ever way I can possible do. Thank you for having us the oppurtunity to be your investors. I wish this project all the best.

Agreed, the amount of 502/504 errors, Server Busy, and now "An error occurred while attempting to log in with your PIN". Who's running the show over there?

So , few minutes ago i managed to get my hands on my ICO coins Smiley , everything went smoothly - apart from the sms delays but its ok -.

Cryptopia got the coins 2-3 hours later , i wasnt expecting it to be this quick baring in mind the vast influx of deposits for such a small exchange , so i give a huge thumbs up to Cryptopia!!

So , whats next for me?
I would like to share my thoughts with you because i trully like this coin/ idea / platform .

Despite all the things that happened to the team and all the unfair comments/posts that they endured all this time by either

-crypto rookies
-naive people
-uneducated people that cant understand the basics of day to day human interactions let alone crypto trading
-professional paid trolls
-fudsters

and in general people from all socio-economic classes whom reactions are unpredictable in so many aspects.

Despite all of the above , Electroneum is Live and Alive.

ETN helped me tremendously in getting a lot of profits from day One of its not so polished and struck by hackers launch. I started mining with my own resources ( gtx 980ti sli & i75820k ) and renting hash from NiceHash. By doing that i managed to mine approx 200.000 coins on the 1st 2 days.
I sold them all , naturally , and you can imagine my profits.

Today i sold my ICO coins.

But the true ETN investment starts NOW.

And you should all be aware of that , i am not one those typical no brainers that post "to the moon to the moooooon" on 8 out of 10 posts they made.

I only know this,

ETN is indeed not priced accurately right NOW because this price was created and maintained by the miners and their day trading. Approx 100 million coins were mined ( correct me if i am wrong here ) and over 4 billion coins ( ICO purchased at less than 100 satoshis ) were sitting on the blockchain. Those coins are still on the road to cryptopia where they will be most probably be sold BLINDLY by its owners in order to accumulate 4x-8x profits.

And this is the normal thing to do in this volatile crypto world.

But the next day , when Electroneum will stabilize in a more normal price , and once its circulation will be the true one of 4.5 billion coins , then we will all witness ETN's strengthening.

And then you should all buy back. And treat it as an investment.
I will sure do.

There is a bunch of altcoins and shitcoins out there that are trading at 1000 sats , 10.000 sats and 100.000 sats. True shitcoins , with no business plan , no team , that are only backed by 2-3 individuals whose only purpose is to use Xcoin to mine and earn bitcoins. Simple as that. And then dump it.

Electroneum is a Company. With a plan that trully exists and will materialize the months to come.
Thats why you should all treat this as an Investment.

Add ETN to your portfolio once price reaches below 100 sats.

Do your day trading with other shitcoins, enjoy those profits and let the ETN team do its job.

Thats all from me ,

And once more, thanks Electroneum for the huge gains you gave me.

I didnt regret taking part on the ICO ( the 1st one i ever took part Smiley ) and i will buy back a lot of thousands and simply HODL!!! Smiley Smiley Smiley

Mining is doing really good!! Thanks for leaving me to mine all the coins to myself folks, I'd say no stop, bring all that absolutely massive amount of hashing power back but hey, um yeah... see ya!! Cheesy

great you will have lots of coins but how do you use them if sending them to another wallet seems impossible.

Download the wallet and deamon from git hub, both the source code (Monero clone) and pre-compiled executable are available.

I have all that but as with monero also you have to sync all the blocks which takes a long long time and send my cpu to 90 c on my 5 year old thinkpad Smiley

But my issue is sending the coins from the web wallet to another web wallet or sending from the web wallet to the desktop wallet.  The web site is giving bad gateway again.  the web wallet also wants a payment ID which they say is optional but without it wont go further.

etnd.bat
Code:
@echo off
ansicon -i
electroneumd --block-sync-size 10

perhaps your thinkpad is a size 5

edit:
wait, no only 5 years? my mining hardware is older than that I got an HD7950 on this, size 10 is fine.
