Do you like the format/presentation of this table? Any suggestion?

I really love it, mate. It's like looking at the standings made by Google. I think it would be better if you implemented this standings in @OP, so that when readers open this topic, they can immediately find the most complete data about league standings without having to do a search first. Maybe we can also contact the creators of league topics to make their @OP like this, so we can move on to the next level on league topics.

Santa Clara 0 - 4 Braga

great victory for braga, after they had crushed benfica, this time they went to crush santa clara who had no reaction condition, with this result braga is in second place, and has a chance of becoming champion too if benfica loses points, in this condition Porto is forced to win in their next game if they want the distance between them and Benfica not to be too big and if they want to become champions Porto cannot lose points in their next game.

it will be very interesting to see how this competition between benfica, braga and porto will be in the next games because this is a very interesting competition, the 3 teams are over goals teams, they manage to score a lot of goals

Benfica has been in the lead so far without any losses, but last week they suffered their first defeat and gave space to the second  team in rank. I hope that this has been the first of many defeats which will benefit Porto.

Benfica is playing with Portimonense today. The Benfica squad is not at their best as a lot of players are still coming around from vacations and the world cup, so it is possible to see Benfica tripping on this match. Hopefully, this will be one where a draw would be a probable outcome.

Santa Clara 0-4 SC Braga
Braga looks like they will have an excellent second round, having a comfortable victory of 4 goals over Santa Clara. It is true that the opponent is not very strong, but Braga's ability to score goals remains.

SL Benfica vs Portimonense
This is going to be the featured game for today.
After suffering the first official defeat of the season, Benfica need to find the right motivation to beat Portimonense before the Lisbon derby against Sporting CP in the next round. With a complicated week to manage, after the defeat and with problems keeping Enzo motivated, it will be an important game for the team's morale.

Benfica had a great winning streak before the break but after that they lost the last game of last year, it was the first game since the World Cup and Benfica lost 3-0 to Braga. Porto took advantage of this and closed the gap a little, but it is still 5 points. Benfica's next game will be against Portimonense, such an opponent must be defeated, they must not lose all the advantage they have gained in the season.

Benfica had a really good winning streak of five matches before facing Braga. But Braga were the team to put an end to their streak by a solid win like 3-0. It was pretty unexpected to me honestly. Benfica's winning odd was pretty low which I found really weird. Because Braga weren't a team to be underestimated. Of course this 3-0 win is still not very acceptable for Benfica but it was obvious that it was going to be a tough match. Braga had a good history against them in home matches lately and they maintained it.

But even after this loss Benfica are still five points ahead of their closest opponent in the standings. I really appreciate their high effort even though they lose some of their important players to bigger teams.

Benfica's scheme is the same as the Bundesliga clubs, which even look like those mafia guys, these guys no longer care about winning the league, for example:

1 - Benfica bought Darwin Nuñez for 24 million euros, they already had in mind that they were buying a rough diamond that they just needed to polish well and then sell and make a good profit, they weren't worried about buying a player to win the league and then they sold Darwin Nuñez to liverpool for 75 million euros, that is, they sold it for 3X the price they bought

2 - Benfica bought Enzo Fernández for 12 million euros and will sell him for 120 million euros, that is 10x the amount they bought, Benfica and the Bundesliga teams already have a millionaire business and they no longer need to worry in winning the leagues but for them to continue to expose their diamonds in the rough they need to be at the top of the league and be playing in the champions league even if it's just the group stage it's enough to gain exposure
dortmund sells players but doesn't have achievements, that's very different from benfica, even though they sell great players they are still the strongest team in the Portuguese league

Enzo Fernandes and Nunez are proof that Benfica is good at buying and selling players and reportedly Benfica currently sees Perrone (Velez Sarsfield player) as a potential replacement for Enzo Fernandes and has the opportunity to be of great value again in the future

they don't even care about that, because they are worried about american dollars, until 10 years ago there was a great rivalry between these 3 clubs: sporting, benfica and porto, but nowadays benfica is more focused on getting rough diamonds (players cheap but with high talent) and then sell at a very high price, the club is profiting a lot from it, and for that reason they don't focus on having a team to win the league, who still thinks that Porto wins the league because they are strong, but that's not true, and because as benfica doesn't even care about winning, then porto has every space to win the league

I get the idea, but not quite!

In Portugal there is a very big rivalry between Benfica and Porto (mainly). If Benfica simply stops working to win the championship, it suffers from a lot of persistence on the part of the fans, which makes things very complicated. In Portugal, it is more valuable to win the national championship than a champions league, because they hardly ever get there.

Without a doubt, Benfica managed to develop an excellent youth team and a good network of scouts that allows young players to be profitable. But even then they have to show that the work is being done to win the championship, otherwise the partners can have the president removed from office.

In this specific case, Benfica mismanaged the situation with Enzo, who, according to the national press, did not want to play the match against Braga. Even so, he was in the starting lineup and as a result he was one less element on the field...

I think it's big emberrasement for them when main rivals Sporting and Porto wins league.

i don't know if what they are doing in planned or not, they probably just can't refuse offers that big and players also might wat to move to those clubs that offered to sign them, Goncalo Ramos is another player that i think would not last long with Benfica, he is a youngster and has been doing well with Benfica and of course without forgetting his performance against Switzerland with Portugal, it's hard to keep good players when they keep getting big offers from bigger clubs.

You're right! The main Portuguese clubs, basically their main objective is only one every season: to win the national championship. No club at the moment has the capacity to win a Champions League. Even if they can even do good campaigns, it will be very difficult to reach a final and win.

As for selling players... this is somewhat true, in almost all Portuguese clubs, as this is really the only major source of revenue for clubs. The value of the Portuguese league is very low compared to other major European leagues. So the solution is to monetize players.

Returning to Benfica and the first defeat of the season, against Braga. Well, it's the problem that the team did very well and there was a big break in the competition, and when they came back they picked up a strong team. The main rivals had clashes with relatively more accessible teams. Braga is a team that fights for the first places every season, and the game wasn't expected to be easy, as it wasn't.

Benfica had conditions to do better, but a good part of the players were not connected again. It was understood that they wanted to do the same as before, but things did not work. It remains to be seen whether this defeat will shake the team for the next games in January, a complicated month, or not. Especially now that the Enzo is expected to be sold.

well, Benfica is losing against braga, if the game continues like this then this will be a defeat for benfica that will make Porto closer to benfica, but in a way even I was already wondering if this season things would be different because last season when benfica was doing well they started to sell players and the team became unstable and they started to lose games and as a result they didn't manage to become champions, it seems to me that history will repeat itself this season

the fact that benfica is a team like the teams in the bundesliga that are profiting from the business of selling players means that benfica does not care much about winning the league, for benfica to win the league and more a matter of having more exposure for selling players than looking for profit, they only need to worry about securing a place in the champions league, unfortunately this is the scenario for many teams

well:

Braga 2 - 0 Benfica

1 half

it seems to me that the game is already decided
Wow, what a performance by Braga and Benfica suffers their first defeat this season. And it's not just loss, they lost big - 3:0. Braga started game very powerful with early goal and in general, they were better team on pitch. I think that final result reflect game quite well. Third goal of game is must see - great Braga counter attack with precise long pass of goalkeeper. I'm happy about this result because it will make second part of season more interesting.

Do you think that Benfica will maintain its pace after the break for the World Cup, or will Braga be the first team to defeat Benfica?

with this current result in which in the 1st half braga is winning by 2 - 0 it does not seem to me that benfica will be able to leave this game with victory, this is a game in which benfica already lost, I just hope that a sequence of bad results, we can put porto as guaranteed champions this season again, this was already expected, benfica has more profit from selling players, they won't worry too much about not winning the portuguese league

Today we have a great game Braga vs Benfica.

SL Benfica has practically the entire squad available, with the exception of David Neres. It registers the best attack and defense of the championship and will certainly continue to maintain its invincibility in all official matches: 28 Games, 23 Victories, 5 Draws. Braga, on the other hand, wants to maintain the third place in the championship and for that only the victory matters to keep FC Porto just one point away.

A curious fact is that there has not been a tie to zero for the championship between the two teams since 2007/08.

I watched Porto game which ended 5:1 and basically, all questions about winner of game were answered in the 1st half already. Arouca didn't looked like a team which are able to do something today. It only should be pity for Porto goalkeeper that they weren't able to keep clean sheet.

Porto won 5-1 over Arouca and Taremi scored a hat-trick in that match. Arouca managed to score 1 goal through Marques in the 75th minute

Sporting also won with a good score (3-0), they got 4 points in this game and currently have the same points as Braga. The competition in the top 4 is getting tougher

It was almost natural for Porto to win that game, it would be difficult to see Aroca facing Porto, especially now that they have to do everything to be able to create pressure on Benfica and stay in the race for first place.

Portimonense 1 - 2 Casa Pia AC

Without a doubt, the team that continues to surprise is Casa Pia. Despite this break from the World Cup, they managed to keep up with their rhythm and win again.

FC Porto 3 - 0 Arouca

40 minutes into the 1st half and we are already seeing Porto with 3 goals, honestly when I saw odds of @1.14 for Porto I thought it was a very exaggerated odd but I confess that I am very surprised that Porto scored so many goals in a short time, there will still be 45 more minutes of play, and I keep wondering how many goals we will see in this game, Portimonense comes to this game with a defeat, but they didn't even have such a fragile defense because in general terms they are one of the few teams that suffered less goals, but with this high number of goals that they are conceding, this will shake them psychologically
