With all action in Olympics I almost forgot that we have Portuguese SuperCup between Sporting and Porto. When I rembered it it was already halftime and Sporting leading 3:1. But damn, what a comeback by Porto, from being down 3:0 in first half to 3:4 in extra time and wining first trophy this season!
Now we have less than week until start of new 24/25 Primeira Liga season.

It won't be long before the Portuguese League competition starts because there are only 10 days left for the competition to start, but unfortunately the team from this League don't seem very busy in meeting player needs during this summer transfer window.
Today Benfica got big win in pre-season match and they played against one of the strong team from the Eredivisie, Benfica played very well and was able to score 5 goals without reply.
Benfica game looks much better than before and if all the opportunities that exist succeed in turning into goals this might be the most successful match during pre-season.

I got good bet this time but it shame I didn't take the total score because if I did it might be much bigger odds.

I believe that Porto will be the one that will make the biggest changes, especially because they will change coaches. But, as they are subject to financial fair play by UEFA, they may be somewhat limited in the business they do.

Benfica will at least have to find a clear striker for the squad, and sign full-backs. Hire, or look for the formation, which usually has good players.

Sporting will probably have to at least look for the new striker, but I believe the structure won't change much.

I also think that Porto will be the team that changes the most next season
Sporting will need a new striker if Viktor Gyökeres leaves the team
In fact, do you think he could leave Sporting for another big European club or not yet?

I really wanted Benfica to be able to make good changes to the squad so that next season we can become champions again, but also when we play in the European Champions League we can get good results, for example these days I read that Benfica signed a player from manchester united, the player's name is Álvaro Fernández. but I didn't see this player being very useful at Manchester United

...

But something I like about Benfica is a team that manages to sign a player who is worth little and turns him into a player who is worth a lot of money and then sells him. So in terms of Benfica not wasting money on players, on the contrary, they always make a profit, Benfica are doing well. But in terms of performance in European competitions, we need to improve a lot, every season it seems that Benfica cannot handle European competitions well, while Porto does well in European competitions.

Álvaro Fernández is only 21, he's a very young player who could do well at Benfica
He has already played for Real Madrid U17 and M. United, and he can try to make the most of the chance to be in a good league and get a chance to play
I'm curious to know if Di Maria will continue to play for Benfica

Di Maria is an incredible player, he was very important in the World Cup final game when Argentina played against France, I still remember how Di Maria's presence on the field made Argentina's attack strong to the point of France's to stay on the defensive, but then Argentina's coach made a serious mistake of replacing him too soon and Argentina was weak in attack, giving France space to dominate the game and Mabppe to shine and score equalizing goals. I hope that at least Di Maria stays at Benfica until he retires, he is currently 36 years old, PSG didn't know how to make the most of Di Maria, because if they had made the most of it

Di Maria would still be playing for PSG today and PSG would have They did very well in the Champions League game against Dortmund and maybe PSG would be playing in the final. something that even I said before is that Benfica has a great vision when it comes to choosing players, and a team that takes a player and extracts the maximum potential from the player and can see the talent in players that other teams despise, Sporting He also has this talent that Benfica has. These are two clubs with good vision when it comes to seeing the talent of their players

Viktor Gyökeres will definitely move since his team is prepared psychologically to let him go and it seems that PSG is interested on signing him from what I read although I didn't find much discussion about that in media.
Sporting in fact are talking with Panathinaïkos to sign Fotis Ioannidis and it appears that a deal will take a place soon.

Although Gyökeres was one of the biggest contributors to Sporting's title, with his goals and assists, in my opinion he just needs to improve his game against bigger teams and decisive matches, unfortunately he wasn't able to help the team in a direct way in these matches
He has a contract until 2028, but I've seen reports that Milan, Arsenal and Manchester United are interested in the striker
And at 26, he's at a good age to change teams

It seems to me that PSG would also be interested in the striker, even more so now that Mbapee has left and the team needs to reinforce itself

Alvaro Fernandez is young Benfica player who has quite lot of good potential in his playing skills as defender, he showed quite competitive performance while he was Benfica player even though he was not one of the main players.
But at least Alvaro Fernandez has had enough experience playing against several big European team, he just needs more screen time to really show his talents in more dominant way.
A young player will not have significant improvement in playing quality if he does not play often enough, if you learn from several other big European team, they always do their best for their young players and give them the confidence to be able to play more often.

But don't know whether he will stay with Benfica or has the desire to return to join another big team, such as team from the Premier League or others with big.
I think in the future we will see him leave the Portuguese League and Benfica in order to improve his career and make some big achievements in European competitions.

AVS, who won the first match 2-1 away from home, managed to win 2-1 at home this time and move up the league.Paraiba, who left his team with 10 men towards the end of the first half, perhaps did not have much influence on the score of the match.AVS, who had to play with 10 men from this minute on, did not allow Portimonense to take the lead and scored at the beginning of the second half.As the excitement increased towards the end of the match, the home team increased the difference to 2 in the 89th minute and secured the promotion. 2-3 minutes after the 2nd goal, Portimonense didn't care if they conceded a goal.

AVS-Portimonense will take in the Portuguese play-out battle. In the first meeting, AVS won 2-1 away from home, so we can say that they have an advantageous score.Although they didn't play very effectively away from home, they made good use of the positions they found in the first match and took the advantage.Today, if they remain unbeaten in their home match, they will have a chance to move up to the next league. It is sure to be a tough match for both sides, but it is difficult to predict who will win or what the score will be.

Historically, Portimonense has a greater advantage to turn things around. But AVS has had an excellent quality season. Therefore, today as they will play at home and have greater support from their fans, they will probably be in a better position to win.

Although it's not an easy prediction, I think AVS has everything it needs to win and move up to the first league.

This shows that the Portuguese League is very competitive to be the best, it is clear how this season they are playing very well, Sporting-Porto and also Benfica are really maintaining their victory, but there are several things that cannot be avoided, namely making Sporting win the Portuguese League title.

With what is happening this season I am of the same opinion as you that the Portuguese League next season will be more competitive competing to be the best, not only Sporting-Porto and Benfica but like Braga you have to be careful, they are showing strong commitment this season. I think next season they will provide an interesting spectacle for those of us who like the Portuguese League.

Among the top three, the situation is very competitive, yes, but I'd like to say once again that I'd like to see other teams in the top three in the league to see even more competitiveness
And I even think it could improve the issue of European competitions and make Portuguese teams even stronger

This season I was very hopeful that Sporting could reach the final of the Europa League because I saw that the team was very strong, after all there were only 2 defeats in league

Do you think the teams will change much for next season?
Of the three, I think Porto need at least three players to strengthen their squad

Benfica and Porto have history in European competitions, winning the UEFA Champions League at least once, although that was in the past. Sporting have no such record. I think these clubs really need to focus on completing their title collections. Sporting certainly needs to bring in new players in the midfield and back line. Because the concede rate is very high even though they managed to win the league title this season.

Benfica complete deal to sign Álvaro Fernández from Manchester United

Álvaro signs with Benfica for the next five years after club triggers buy option clause for fee around €6m.

Manchester United will have a buy back clause, matching rights and also sell-on clause plus €6m.

So, with this result, all 3 big Portuguese clubs won something:
Benfica - Portuguese Super Cup
Sporting - Championship
Porto - Portuguese Cup

The Portuguese league is a kind one haha; they shared the trophies amongst the top 3 team conveniently which is nice to see. The Portuguese cup tie win was also a good fight from the Porto team against league winners.

I believe we will have more challenging league next season in Portugal

It was pretty evenly split this season with each of Portugal's big three winning a title

At the start of the season I bet on Porto to win the league, but I was wrong, and my doubt was with Benfica. I didn't think Sporting would be so strong this season  Cheesy
The Portuguese Cup title was significantly affected by thered card of the Sporting player, but that's how soccer is, and Porto did their job

I hope that all the Portuguese teams get good reinforcements for next season, I'd love to see one of the three of them reach at least a Champions League semi-final or maybe a Europa League final

It would be strange if, in Portugal, this type of controversy did not occur...  Cheesy

I haven't seen the game, nor have I seen any summary, so I can't give a great opinion. But, maybe today I'll take a little time to analyze the game and then I'll be able to give my opinion.

Porto - Portuguese Cup
Saw only a bit of game on 2nd screen in background, so can't comment it much. I only hear from commentator that there was some questionsble calls like penalty in extra.
In the end, only Sporting can be happy about season, winning league in such dominant way. Cup or League Cup is only consolation prize. If not cup, for Porto this season would be disaster, ending so far away from top in league. But maybe with new president Villas-Boas things will improve next season.
But none of these teams can't be happy about their performance in Europe.

Porto managed to literally save their season in the last few minutes
A lot of people are commenting on the controversial refereeing in the final, with red cards, penalties, VAR, canceled penalties...
