These Portuguese cup games are a big trap, as you said they have very low odds if people bet on the winner, but if the person wants to bet on the over goals market, then the person will lose money, this is because these teams big ones that have a lot of league games, champions league games, they rotate players and focus only on achieving victory in the cup games, even if that means only scoring 1 goal and not having a good performance during the game . That's why I don't place bets on these games.

when the person thinks that as the big team will play against a very small team, for example in the cases of Porto who played against Vilar de Perdizes who are in a weak league in relation to the league that Porto plays in, and Vilar de Perdizes in Their league is not doing well, they are in position 6, and in the last 5 games they have conceded goals in the majority of games, which shows that they are a weak team in defensive terms. With this data, people could make the mistake of betting on the over 2.5 goals market, thinking that Porto would score at least 3 goals in this game.

but the game ended with only 2 goals that Porto scored, meaning whoever bet on over 2.5 goals lost their bet. Braga played against Rebordosa, which is also another weak team and received a red card in the 48th minute of the game, yet all Braga managed to score were 2 goals, with the first goal being in the 1st half when Rebordosa still had 11 players. In other words, whoever bet that there would be more goals in that game, something like over 2.5 goals also lost their bet. Betting on under goals also becomes very complicated. That's why I don't bet on these games

It really makes sense
Betting on the number of goals is not my favorite bet. I usually focus on wins and in the Portuguese league I try my best to do the multiples
In Brazil there's a cup similar to this one in which big teams play small teams at first, and often, very often, the small team gets a draw or loses narrowly, 1x0 or 2x0 at most

A safer bet for this cup would be at least under 4.5 goals or even 3.5 goals, depending on the match.

Another important factor is the level of motivation. The smaller teams will try their best to take advantage of the opportunity to beat a bigger team, while the bigger team may save its best players for other leagues (as you already said here)

It only worth to place a bet on the number of goals in my opinion
The Benfica match, for example, has Goals Under 4.25 with 1.95 odds, so it might be worth it

Benfica won 1-4. I needed one more goal to win that bet.  Roll Eyes

Sometimes there are suppressions, which in Portugal we call these clubs the "giant tombas". But it's very rare, especially in the first round when big teams play.

We haven't seen any surprise results in the cup matches between the favorite teams at the moment. Yesterday Benfica managed to advance to the next round by beating their opponent 4-1 away from home. Of course, the odds for these matches are extremely low, which increases our chances of taking more risks. For example, the odds for a 2 handicap match result were 1.16. Of course, we can think that the favorite teams in cup matches Benfica, Braga, Porto will not get surprising results, but when handicap is involved, sometimes teams do not tend to score many goals.

This week, after the break for the national team games, we will have the Portuguese Cup.
As is normal, big clubs will play with clubs at lower levels, which becomes an excellent opportunity for coaches to rotate players.

Therefore, victories are expected from the big clubs, as they will have the following games:

SC Lusitania vs Benfica
Vilar de Perdizes vs FC Porto
Olivais e Moscavide vs Sporting CP

Braga has already played and won: Rebordosa 0-2 Braga

Last season, if I remember correctly, I only bet on the Portuguese Cup in the final match, or in the semi-finals and final

And looking at today's odds:

Benfica (1.02)
FC Porto (1.01)
Sporting CP (1.02)

It only worth to place a bet on the number of goals in my opinion
The Benfica match, for example, has Goals Under 4.25 with 1.95 odds, so it might be worth it

I just came here. Didn't even know this was a thing. As I am an SCP fan, I vow for them. However, I enjoyed football/soccer in the past than in current times. I like more Formula 1 and MotoGP championships. Actually, we have a portuguese biker in MotoGP. His name is Miguel Oliveira aka "Falcão" or "Hawk" for english!

Welcome to the debate. I am a supporter of SLB, so we will certainly have good debates!  Grin Wink

I think there are some topics about F1 and MotoGP.
MotoGP I've never been much of a follower, but I like having a Portuguese guy there. In the case of F1, I stopped following it a little, as a result of some changes that occurred in the past, I lost a little interest, but I know that things have changed again, and perhaps I will start following it again next season.

Last three F1 seasons it's all about a single driver. He's been winning 3 times i a row. Last weekend he just got his 3rd Championship in a row. It has been less interesting than MotoGP. MotoGP we just seen a lead change this weekend even before the main race in Indonesia. Much more fun to see lead changes than to see the same guy winnining every single weekend!

This happens a lot, especially in big team games, because small teams play a lot defensively. So big teams have to fight hard to overcome this barrier, which is not always easy. Thus, goals usually come in the last minutes, because small teams are already physically exhausted and are no longer able to defend as well.

Yes, that's a good explanation
In other leagues, like brazilian for example, it doesn't happen as often as it does in Portuguese league
I'm even going to make a table here and mark how many times it happens, and in a few weeks I'll post the result

It's interesting how things happen after 90 minutes, as you said, the bigger teams keep pressing all the time and one moment the smaller teams get exhausted and end up making a mistake.
I also think that the player of the team that is defending relaxes a bit after 90 minutes, thinking that they have already achieved their goal, and then it's the minutes that end up losing the game or conceding a draw

Most of my bets are on wins, it doesn't usually affect me, but I've seen some users lose bets on these final minutes

That was another interesting round with favorites achieving difficult wins. Benfica scored their only goal against Estoril only on 93rd minute. Didn't watched Porto game after they scored early goal, I expected that they will have no problems against Portimonense. But they didn't managed to score more.
Sporting were leading 1:0 against Arouca when Diomande got second yellow card. Score become 1:1 in 2nd half, but then Sporting managed to score goal playing 10 vs 11.
So, they go into international break as league leaders and only undefeated team, Benfica 1 point and Porto 3 points behind.

This is a pattern I've been observing in the Portuguese league
As I've said a few times, I started betting and watching more games last year, before that I only watched a few league games, only Porto or Benfica
And many matches end up being decided in the last few minutes, as was the case in Braga's last match, with goals in the 90+1 and 90+6 minutes
Benfica also beat Estoril in the 90+3 minutes

And if you look, you'll find many matches with this pattern
Many bettors are likely to lose their bets with this
Most of my bets are on wins, it doesn't usually affect me, but I've seen some users lose bets on these final minutes

Without a doubt, everyone will be grateful for this break. They need to reorganize themselves and try to play more stable and safe games, so they can really achieve good results.

Although the main candidates achieved victories in this round, the games were difficult:

MATCH DAY  8 - RESULTS:

The observation I made was before Braga's Champions League game, which ended with a positive result. And this turnaround certainly motivated the team a lot, but it also caused a lot of physical wear and tear.

I think Braga has all the conditions to beat Rio Ave. Although Rio Ave doesn't usually make it easy. But, as they will play at home, perhaps it will be more motivating. We'll see.

Your tip was very good joker_josue, although Braga won the match, it was VERY difficult
Rio Ave practically had the win from the 5th minute, and Braga only managed to secure the win after 90+6 minutes, after made a goal 5 minutes earlier, the win was very hard-fought and I thought they wouldn't be able to win. Rio Ave narrowly missed out on winning the match
So far my bet is working with Benfica + Braga winning, all that's left is for Sporting to confirm their victory, for now it's 1x0
But I bet only a small amount hehehe

today we will have more games, the only game today that I added to my multibet bet, was the sporting game against Arouca, who in the last 5 games they have not managed to beat anyone, they are coming from 2 draws, 3 consecutive defeats, while Sporting is in a good moment as they have not lost in the last 5 games and are coming from 3 consecutive victories and a victory in this game against Arouca will make them top of the league. my bet is on Sporting's victory, I preferred not to bet on Porto, which despite being a team that counts on a lot of luck to win games, their opponent has mixed results and could be able to achieve a draw

Porto hardly loses the game against Portimonense. In the last 20 games, Porto has won. There may have been one or two more complicated ones, but in the end he won. Portimonense is almost a "b team" of Porto, as they are clubs that have a very close relationship (too close, which sometimes becomes questionable). Therefore, even if they have difficulties, I believe Porto will win.

But, of course, we are in football and surprises happen.

Braga should have the most complicated game on this list. Normally, Rio Ave tends to make life difficult for these teams.
Therefore, pay attention to their performance in the Champions League, which may help you understand something more. Although they are very different games, of course.

I'm very much in doubt now hehehe, but Braga did well in their last UCL match winning against Union Berlin
Here's what I'm going to do, a low bet so as not to take so many risks, and without the Porto match
That leaves Benfica, Braga and Sporting paying 2.21 in total
A maximum of 5 dollars  Cheesy so as not to lose so much if the Braga match goes wrong

Thanks for the tips, they are always important to make a safer bet

I put Braga in my multibet bet, but I must confess that this was a very difficult game for Braga and that I even saw Braga losing in this game, I even stopped watching the game when it was already 88 minutes in, for me the result The game was already decided and it was a very bad result for me, but to my surprise when I went to see the results of my other bets I saw that Braga won the game, so I was wondering at what time did they score a goal? So I did some research and saw that the first goal was at 90 + 1 and the second goal was at 90 + 6. With this result Braga won the game and kept my multibet bet still active

Estoril Praia 0 - 1 SL Benfica

What seemed to be a very easy game for Benfica turned into a very complicated game in the sense that Benfica were unable to score a goal, it seems that the day was not an easy one for Braga and Benfica. Benfica was also the same as Braga, who only scored goals after 90 minutes. I wanted to watch this game, but I fell asleep and slept, when I woke up I remembered the game and ran to see if they were still playing, but to my surprise the game had already ended, but it was a good thing I didn't watch the game because what I see it wasn't a very pleasant game to watch. I also bet on Benfica and with Benfica's victory my multibet bet will remain active
