Vitoria SC had a chance to reach 3rd place in the league table but squandered it as they lost 1-0 to Moriense FC. Vitoria SC vs Porto Vitoria SC have not won one of the last five matches. Vitoria SC is doing great this season. At home they can create chances to stop Porto. Currently Vitoria is fifth in the league table. FC Porto were unexpectedly beaten by Estoril, widening their gap to 1st place. They will try to take advantage of the Lisbon derby between Sporting and SL Benfica to move closer to the top. Vitoria SC, playing on their home ground, can take advantage and get a point or three. Porto can win 2-0 today.

So that is why the bookies are trying to scare us to not bet on Porto. They know very well that this is a golden opportunity for Porto to close that gap between the top place as they will be playing in a derby during this weekend, this would void that lost game against Estoril.I think in fact they lost against Estoril as they needed to win the game in the Champions League so they are now safe there and most likely to be qualified for the next round.Having secured that I doubt there is anything Vitoria Guimaraes can do to stop Porto tonight,I though expect a very entertaining game with goals as I doubt Vitoria would be back in defense trying to keep the result safe.

On this day we will have the Benfica vs Sporting derby. Benfica clearly needs to win, to clear up the bad image they are leaving in the Champions League games, after a shameful defeat at Champions. Sporting is in a very good phase at the time, and certainly wants to take advantage of its rival's less good moment, to win and further isolate itself in first place. Porto, on the other hand, is forced to win, in order to avoid getting too far away from first place. What will the results be?

This weekend we will have a very interesting game, I'm talking about Benfica's game against Sporting, in this game Benfica needs to win if they want to not be too far away from Sporting in the table. but benfica's task will not be easy, after the defeat in the champions league game in yesterday's game against real sociedad, benfica fans are very angry with benfica, although benfica in the portuguese league in the last 5 games has not had no defeat, yet a defeat in this game against Sporting could put the coach's position at risk. On the other side we have Sporting which is having a good campaign so far

In the last 5 games Sporting has won in all of them, they have 5 consecutive victories, they have scored 22 goals in 10 games and have only conceded 9 goals. In terms of goals scored and conceded, these two teams have almost the same data. Well, Benfica is being seen as a favorite by the bookmakers, probably because Benfica has been doing well in the Portuguese league, while Sporting in its last game conceded 2 goals, which could mean that in the game against Benfica they concede a goal and don't score, causing them to lose the game. I'm still thinking about whether or not to bet on this game and whether I'm going to watch this game

FC Porto will play against Vitoria Guimarares, this is a game in which Porto needs to win if they want to stay in the race for the title, the defeat of the last game still haunts Porto and a new defeat in this game against Vitoria Guimarares, This will make the Porto coach start to be criticized more.

Only Porto lost points this week. Porto lost an important 3 points in Friday's game, losing 1-0 at home despite playing well.
Benfica, on the other hand, made no mistake away to Chaves. Benfica, who managed to beat their opponent with 2 goals away from home, took the lead for now, but if Sporting manages to defeat their opponent today, they will be the leader again.
Braga, on the other hand, scored a goal at home. Braga scored 6 goals in the second half after being defeated in the first half.

Well, their strategy this weekend has already been ruined by Porto.
In yesterday's game, Porto ended up losing 0-1 to Estoril. This leaves Sporting in a good position to stay away from their rivals. And Benfica has the opportunity to also move away. Let's see what they do.

My strategy, which worked very well last year, hasn't yielded the same results yet, but I'm still sticking to it and I'm confident.
I'm still making a profit and I've managed my bankroll well, so it's okay to lose a few bets.

But I'm surprised by these latest results

The bookies will be very happy because of the Porto and Estoril match, the game has spoilt many bettor's slip.

Hehehe, I also lost my bet on that game  Cheesy

I couldn't understand what the hell these guys had on the field who played really bad and I started to accept that my bet was already lost. At that pace of the game it was easier for the opponent to score a goal than for Porto to score a goal and my disappointment was confirmed in the 75th minute when Estoril scored a goal. For me, the result of the game was already decided and Porto lost and I lost my bet.
The bookies will be very happy because of the Porto and Estoril match, the game has spoilt many bettor's slip. The odd for the home side to win was 1.18 and that of away was 13.5, a friend has been lamenting because of the match. He picked the home side to win the match and it screwed his parley that's going very well. The game looks like an encounter Porto could have easily won, I don't know if they rested some of their key players because of their champions league game, which kind of affected them, but the result is just too painful especially for bettors who lost their bets.

I took the time to spend 90 minutes on TV watching the Porto game, yes I took that time. As I didn't have much to do and I put Porto in my parlay and the odd value, Porto's performance in comparison to its opponent was advantageous for Porto so I thought: this will be a very enjoyable game to watch. The game started and I even got excited, but during the game I started to wonder: " is this the current level of the porto?" Shocked I was already starting to get very worried because they had a lot of difficulty creating opportunities to score goals, they kept committing a lot of fouls and the bad way in which they committed fouls was something that could lead to a red card and little or no good scoring opportunities. saw coming from them. I confess that my level of disappointment kept rising, so much so that I reached a point where I said to myself: why the hell did I bet on this team?

I couldn't understand what the hell these guys had on the field who played really bad and I started to accept that my bet was already lost. For me, the result of the game was already decided and Porto lost and I lost my bet. With this result, Porto now has a difference of 3 points in relation to Benfica and Sporting, but if Sporting wins, then the difference will be 6 points.

And talking about Benfica, they managed to win easily, at least that they managed to do, but we'll see if the 2 goals they managed to score in this game will help to boost the team's morale for the next game in the Champions League, as they they became a joke in the champions league, I hope they at least manage to score at least 1 goal so they don't end up with 4 games without winning and without scoring goals in the champions league

Watched Porto games yesterday. First of all, I can't understand how referee awarded penalty in favour of Porto of 5th minute. If all such ''fouls'' would be rwarded with penalties, we would have 5-10 penalties each game. But it was saved by Estoril goalkeeper. While in 2nd half after VAR review referee decided not to give penalty and gave free kick to Estoril. It wasn't a problem for Holsgrove who scored perfect free kick goal and made one of biggest upsets this season so far.
Game against Chaves wasn't easy for Benfica, despite that opponent made 0 shots on target. It took them almost 1 hour toscore 1st goal. After aall, Benifca won 0:2 and got their 3rd goal cancelled because offside.
Later tonight Braga will face Portimonense at home.

But there is a saying that goes like "the real deal is staying at the top, not getting there in the first place". And I think this is also true for outstanding performances in teams because even when they are the same team months later, the difficulty is to find the same motivation and mental power to repeat what you have done one season before. Delivering this ace performance over and over again is a lot harder than doing it once. This is also what set players like Ronaldo and Messi apart from all others. Expectations are rising and with those expectations, pressure is also rising.

Yes, it's very difficult to stay at the top
Just look at the Portuguese league itself, where in the last 7 seasons no one has managed to win twice in a row, and the years before that there were many titles in a row
It's very difficult to achieve hegemony these days

A 4-way bet is never easy to win as you mostly have one team that doesn't dance to the whistle!  Grin Only one draw and the bet is dead. I have often tried multi-way bets and there was always this one team that messed it up.

I like leagues that are highly competitive much more than those leagues where it is always the same team winning the title. The Portuguese league is quite good and I think last season Benfica Lissabon did have a little chance to also beat Inter in the Champions League. On some days they can win that game. But having several teams like the ones you mentioned is good for the fans as everything else gets boring.

One thing I love about the Portuguese League is the fact that despite not being among the top five leagues in Europe, the Portuguese Primeira Liga is very competitive unlike most of the European leagues. In the past seven years, no club has been able to win the competition in two consecutive seasons.

That's true, it may not be ranked in the Top5. But when we look at the Top5, we see two leagues where the winners are "guaranteed" before the season starts.
France = PSG / Germany = Bayern Munich
In Portugal, at least first place is a fight to the end, and you never know who will be the champion.  Roll Eyes

After Sporting and Benfica won their games in the League Cup, we will have another round. Will the top teams win?

The league is not very tough like the EPL and other top European leagues but they got very tough and strong clubs competing very well in major European competitions and over the years the Portuguese league has produced great players and world stars, well I don't really give much attention to the league nor view most of their matches except when I want to include a match from the league in my prediction.

However I really love Porto and Sporting Lisbon especially Lisbon cause it's produced at lot of great players around Europe, most famously known player from the league is one of the greatest of all time C Ronaldo that was bought by Sir Alex Ferguson to Manchester United, well about last season Lisbon finish 4th place but currently they at the top of the table and are the only team that are currently unbeaten in the league, which means they've improved more than the previous season.

This four teams will fight hard for the title and i think they are all the same quality. The title can go anywhere from this point on. The team that i like the most now is Braga. They have such a good attacking style and some really good players. I think if they dont drop many points against weak teams they can fight for the title.

And today Sporting won the game and took the lead in the championship
As soon as Joker posts the updated table, we'll be able to better visualize the current situation

As I haven't followed the league since the beginning last year, I don't know if it's been like this, but I'm surprised
I thought the fight would only be between Porto and Benfica, but Sporting are leading
I thought Boavista would be able to keep up their good start, but they've dropped down to 6th place

Isn't this a really harsh judgment given how Benfica is doing in all competitions? ...

In my opinion this judgment is due to the fact that Benfica had a great season last year in all competitions, it's normal to expect something similar since it's the same team and they were fully capable of doing well in the UCL

Already Sporting Lisbon always make an impressive play for some seasons now but the problem is a good finish like they will start and being doing very well but as soon as the season is getting tough, the start flopping.

If you look at Portugal Premiere division you will know that the competitive teams there is Benfica, Fc Porto, Sporting Lisbon, and Sporting Braga these teams are the consistent teams in Portuguese league however, Sporting Braga and Sporting Lisbon have been performing well over the years but the only problem they've got is persistency as the both can start very well but towards the end becomes a disaster.

Well, so far sporting Lisbon has been in good form and I believe if they continue in this form then they may eventually make a difference this season so I just wish they could do their possible best to change this Benfica - Porto rotation of the Portuguese trophy.
