Only 4 rounds have been played yet, and we already have shameful games like Porto game against Arouca.
This year, if Porto's opponents want to try to win the championship, they will have to play their games very well, otherwise it will be difficult. Porto will continue to increase its influence on referees and other sports agents.

And it's already the second Porto game that can be considered controversial
Even so, they've lost first place in the league to Boavista
I hope it won't be like this throughout the championship, even though I bet on Porto being champions
It's a good thing I didn't place the bets, otherwise I would have lost.

Do Boavista have a chance of finishing in the top four this year? Or is it too early to tell?
Since the 16-17 season when Vitória finished 4th, we haven't had a different team in the TOP 4 (Benfica, Porto, Sporting and Braga)

Porto dropped points against Arouca, game ended 1:1. Rules are rules, but it's ridiculous that in 2nd half 17 minutes were added and 22 were actually played. I would like to hear your comments about penalty that referee awarded in favour of Porto:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tVT6V63XuEU Anyway, Porto missed it, but still they managed to grab one point after very late Evanilson goal.
Braga 1:1 Sporting. Result that probably reflects the game. But that golazo that Djalo scored for Braga is must see, such beauty.
So, now we going into international break with 3 teams leading league with 10 points - Boavista, Sporting and Porto.

benfica played against vitoria, it was a game in which benfica didn't have any major difficulties in winning the game, in this game benfica scored 4 goals, they benefited a lot from the mistakes that vitoria made, the first goal was a shot from di maria and a bad defense by the Vitória player that led to Benfica's goal, then came the red card which in my opinion the referee was right in awarding the red card to the Vitória player and then everything was easier for Benfica, even If Vitória were playing with 11 players until the end of the game I highly doubt they would be able to beat Benfica.
Basically, game outcome was decided already after 20 minutes when Vitoria player got red card. They were 1:0 down already and with 10 players remaining, it's difficult to expect that team like Vitoria can give challenge for Benfica.

Yesterday we had more games in the Portuguese league. farmalicao played against farense, farmalicao who came to this game with mixed results in the last 3 games. with 1 draw, 1 victory and 1 defeat which was in their last game before the game against farense, so they needed to win in this game mainly because they were playing at home, while their opponent, Farense, came into this game with 2 losses and 1 win, and before this game they had 1 win, I even expected them to at least get a draw, but they lost. with this defeat they are close to the relegation zone

benfica played against vitoria, it was a game in which benfica didn't have any major difficulties in winning the game, in this game benfica scored 4 goals, they benefited a lot from the mistakes that vitoria made, the first goal was a shot from di maria and a bad defense by the Vitória player that led to Benfica's goal, then came the red card which in my opinion the referee was right in awarding the red card to the Vitória player and then everything was easier for Benfica, even If Vitória were playing with 11 players until the end of the game I highly doubt they would be able to beat Benfica.

later we will have the most anticipated game of the round, which will be the sporting game against braga, in my opinion braga had a bad start to the league probably because they were focused on the champions league games because it is a competition in which they will win money while in the league they know they don't have much chance of becoming champions. So giving priority to the champions league was the best choice in my opinion, now they just need to focus on winning the Portuguese league games to be in the places for access to the European champions league

Famalicao managed to defeat Farense 1-0 at home. The hosts dominated the match and had more chances to score but failed to capitalize on their chances. Of course, it's important for them to get the win, but in the future, perhaps the draw will also be important.
Benfica, on the other hand, put on a show of strength against a strong opponent. Guimaraes, who were undefeated in the first 3 weeks and made 3/3, suffered their first defeat by conceding 4 goals away from Benfica. Of course, I must say that the early red card of Mendes from Guimaraes played a big role in this.

I think the games are easier to analyze right now,Benfica and Porto should have easy wins since they are playing at home.In the other games despite Braga playing at home I think they will be tired from a tiresome game in Athens where they got qualified for the group phase of the Champions League, great achievement for them but I think they will most probably either lose or draw against Sporting.

In their group of Champions League, looks like a group of hell for them with Napoli and Real Madrid out of their reach and they should aim to get a third place to continue in Europa League.

I'm not placing any bets today
Benfica's win pays 1.25 and Porto's 1.27, the two add up to only 1.58, but the probability is very high that both will win
The problem is that Braga x Sporting is also on today, and I usually put one of the two in my multiple bets
Today is just a day to watch hehehe

But if I were to bet, I think Sporting have a better chance of winning today's game

I'm happy to see Braga on Champions League, unfortunately they are on the same group of Real and Napoli, but it's ok, at least they will participate
Porto and Benfica have good chances to classify in their groups

The Portuguese clubs in the Champions League already know their groups:
Group C: Naples, Real Madrid, Braga and Union Berlin
Group D: Benfica, Inter, Salzburg and Real Sociedad
Group H: Barcelona, Porto, Shakhtar Donetsk and Antwerp

Will we see different behavior from these three teams in the next games?

Curious were the words of the player who allegedly suffered the penalty, Gonçalo Borges:

"It's part of the game. He told me he didn't touch me and obviously he did. We already know how it works inside the area, when he touches you can always create something. In this case, he really touched to fall. We won the penalty that was important in the match. turnaround"

His argument is that inside the area, whenever there is a touch, you can create something. Let each one see the bid, and interpret this sentence in the way they see fit.  Roll Eyes

Many people already suspect that the Porto team is favored by the referees in some games, I've seen it commented on here, and although I don't know for sure if this exists or not, the player made a strange and unnecessary statement in my opinion, the words "create something"  may sound strange, especially if the other player didn't actually touch Gonçalo Borges.

Well after seeing so many failures in the big 5 leagues as they call them this weekend and seeing the graphics here it is clear that I should change my sport bets to this league,I see all teams winning from the top 3 which is Benfica,Porto and Sporting winning their games, all teams in the same weekend. That is great and it shows that bookies do not interfere much in this league because in Serie A no one can remove it from my mind in Italy that there has been interference,it is impossible and less probable for favorites,3 of them to not win in their home field against weaker teams playing in the same day. What a f*cking good contrast I see in this league which I should definitely start betting and hopefully the OP can help by providing some insights before the games so we win all together  Grin

Last year I became more interested in the Portuguese league, because joker_josue made the thread to follow here, and because the matches are being broadcast in my country (via streaming), so I invested more in betting
I got great results, mainly because the top 4 last year lost very few games, so I was able to place multiple bets, which I don't normally do in other leagues
My tip for you is to follow a bit more until you feel more confident and then place your bets, starting with a small amount of money
Be aware that at the start of the championship there may be a few surprises, but over time the teams will settle down
I'm here again to see if I can make a second season profitable.

In your opinion (and that of anyone who wants to comment), was it a penalty or not?

In this video: https://youtu.be/90cNaRPhFTY?si=fp_hZ62g4OvneTmJ&t=113 you can see in a HD resolution, it's official from TV, but that move was extremely difficult to mark. Costinha's right foot, which would normally have touched the Porto player, didn't touch it. But his left foot, which stuck out awkwardly, could have touched Gonçalo Borges.
If you watch the video, it's easier to understand than explaining it in words hehe

These images are also not very enlightening. In addition to being images coming from the player's agency.
And the most curious thing is that instead of having the image of the filming camera, we have an image of a camera filming the filming camera. Very good!  Roll Eyes
Also add the fact that in all the images, it always seems that the Rio Ave player touches the ball first. And maybe then touch the player, but this is not clear.

I'm glad that I won the bet, but I have some doubts about the penalty, but I can't blame the referee, because even though I saw the move several times, I can't come to a decision with 100% certainty

Of the three, I think Sporting will have the most complicated game.
Famalicão has been playing well, and could cause difficulties for Sporting. Although I am of the opinion that Sporting has all the conditions to win.
I think better results from the Leōes this season, they're competent to grade up their strength and statistics this season. Sporting CP is competitive club and they're weigh better than their opponents this new season. The Leões are not relenting in their performance, displaying magnificent performance in their domestic league. While on the other hand, Famalicão are struggling to win games, with there present stats, they achieved quite poor results. João Pedro Sousa have lengthy experience in the league and knows specifically were he stands to channel the energy of the squad towards his opponents.

Strange things happen at Porto matches hahaha
The TV failed to show a good angle for the penalty that was scored.
Here's a different view that shows it better: https://sicnoticias.pt/especiais/primeira-liga/2023-08-29-Rio-Ave-FC-Porto-divulgadas-novas-imagens-do-penalti-sobre-Goncalo-Borges-c72986b8

Hehe, with a lot of emotion in the Porto game I got my first winning bet in the Portuguese league, but I repeat, a lot of emotion, I had thought I had lost the bet already and I confess that I even distracted my attention from the game after 85 minutes, but surprisingly, Porto got a very strange victory

After all, all favorites have difficult games, but it seems that Porto game was most difficult one. They were down 1:0 until 90th minute against Rio Ave when penalty in favour of Porto was given and few minutes later Marcano scored goal which let his team to win.
I barely can remember when there was so many close games in Liga Portugal. I would like to think that small clubs have done step ahead, but reality is that favorites si still far away from playing their best football.

Yeah... managed to recover in the final stretch, with at least thanks to a very strange penalty. But then, the small teams have created greater difficulties for the big ones, at least in the first phase of the season.

I'm thinking of starting betting on this round
Betting on 3 wins for Benfica + Porto + Sporting gives 2.42 odds
I think I'll start with smaller bets and as I watch more games, I'll increase them

What do you think of every week to make known the history of a club?
Or make a stadium known?

I think the idea of talking about the clubs is interesting, I don't know if everyone thinks the same, but I would read the posts, especially because although I already know a bit about Portuguese soccer, until last year I knew more about the top 3 teams, I only got to know the rest better when I started betting on Portuguese soccer and I needed to understand more about all the teams

are you trying to garner interest in the league here?

Yes, it's doing a little bit of that. Make known the Portuguese football league, and maybe a little bit of Portugal.
