I think Braga was a bit tired from the Champions League game no matter that they won it 3-0 the first leg and most probably they are already looking up in the return leg which will be played exactly today so most likely they conserved their forces for this encounter which is extremely important for them as if they qualify which most likely they will do they will go directly in the group stages of the Champions League and this will be a huge achievement for them and that is why I don't consider the first game lost at  home from Braga as a huge surprise result, sure it is a surprise result but not that big of a surprise.

We saw 2 different results in yesterday's season opening match between two teams that were in the championship race last season.Porto started the second half defeated with a goal early in the second half and won the match 2-1 with 2 goals in 7 minutes. Porto dominated the match and won the first match away from home.
In the Boavista-Benfica match, last season's champion Benfica was defeated away. In the first half, Benfica led 1-0 with di maria's goal despite a good game. At the beginning of the second half, Benfica lost its offensive power as they were reduced to 10 men with Musa's red card. Despite leading 2-1 in the 75th minute, Benfica lost 3-2 with 2 goals in the last minutes and started the season with a defeat.

Benfica lost to Boavista FC; the visitors were very unlucky in the game; after putting out all of their primary operations to win the game, it turns out that they are still considerably behind.

Probably I managed to lost money on one of their loses this season, could foreseen this is maybe only lost match this season, and it had to be one that i was waiting for money

after scoring for a second lead 1:2, I thought it is a done deal, but Boavista managed to equalize, and then score a winner in overtime, with 10 men on the pitch
hurts, but congrats to black/white team from Porto city

First round was very interesting and difficult for main contenders. Boavista win against Benfica is probably main upset. After Musa from Benfica god red card and score become 1:1 few minutes later, things didn't looked good for Benfica. They managed to take a lead again, but Boavista didn't gave up. Score become 2:2 on 90 minute and when it already looked that it will be final score, Boavista caught Benfica on counter attack, Bozenik scoring his 2nd goal.
Porto win was difficult, but it was different kind of game. Moreirense scored their only goal with 1 shot on target in total.

Rodger Schmidt, the head coach of Benfica, is doing an excellent job of establishing his squad from its competitors. Benfica lost to Boavista FC; the visitors were very unlucky in the game; after putting out all of their primary operations to win the game, it turns out that they are still considerably behind. Benfica's hesitant performance would have come from Petar Musa's red card in the frontline; they couldn't replicate the same enthusiasm level they had in the first half. We expected a draw tie, but Boavista stepped up and made the difference in extra time.

Sporting today had very powerful start against Vizela when they were up 2:0 just after 15 minutes, there was just 1 minute between their 2 goals. It looked that game outcome was decdided already. But then in 2nd hald Vizela responded with 2 goals in 2 minutes. Sporting still managed to win game after Paulinho goal on 98 minute.
Other clubs from Big 32 will begin their season on Monday, both away, Porto against Morerirense and Benfica vs Boavista.

It looks like your first bet is already failing:

Braga 1-2 Famalicão

A curious thing about the Portuguese championship, is that in the first third of the season, there are normally always 3 or 4 teams, outside the top 4, which usually creates difficulties for all its opponents.

Hehe not yet  Cheesy
I haven't started betting on the Portuguese championship 23/24 yet
As I've been busy studying and betting more on the Brazilian championship/libertadores/sudamericana and the women's world cup, I preferred not to bet yet and I've already given luck otherwise I would lose, since I would bet on Braga's victory with the multiple

I believe I can enter the bets in the second or third round

Porto and Benfica I believe they will start with a victory

Every week, I will bring the stats of at least one game.
What other data do you think could be interesting to present?

I think it looks great the way you did it, all the most interesting data is in the table. One matche per round seems to me great for you to display the complete statistics
It's very well organized and easy to visualize all stats

I really hope this doesn't become a trend this season.

Ah, got it. I hope it doesn't become a trend either, it's not good to watch a match with so many interruptions.

This weekend, the championship begins. Follow the games of the first round. What are your guesses?

Guys, let's do some prediction here, what are your guesses about top 5 this season?

Nice to know that, I imagine it will be beaultiful tables  Grin

Yes, lots of statistical data, and maybe other information. I don't know, I still have several options open.
For now, you can have an idea of how it will be, based on the post where I indicate the result of the Super Cup.

Every week, I will bring the stats of at least one game.

What other data do you think could be interesting to present?

I watched the match, and caught my attention the high number of cards during the game, there were 12 yellow cards and 1 red card with the total of 40 fouls
I don't know if it was due to the referee preferring to conduct the game that way or if it could be a trend for the Portuguese championship to punish fouls more

Referees in Portugal, in general, are very weak. Just to give you an idea, it is rare for Portuguese referees to referee Champions League matches, or a World Cup.

This referee is known for giving a lot of yellows. And he started giving yellows in bids without any sense. Hence having this huge amount of yellow.

I really hope this doesn't become a trend this season.

This weekend, the championship begins. Follow the games of the first round. What are your guesses?

MATCH DAY  1:
11.08. 20:15 Braga vs Famalicão
12.08. 15:30 Gil Vicente vs Portimonense
12.08. 18:00 Farense vs Casa Pia
12.08. 20:30 Sporting vs Vizela
13.08. 15:30 Rio Ave vs Chaves
13.08. 18:00 Estrela Amadora vs Vit. Guimarães
13.08. 20:30 Arouca vs Estoril
14.08. 18:45 Moreirense vs Porto
14.08. 20:45 Boavista vs Benfica

If I had posted to answer this question before the game started I wouldn't hesitate to say that the port would win...

That was my initial thought too, Porto usually do well when they play against Benfica
But I analyzed it better and thought that Benfica had full conditions to win the game, and I got it right hehehe.
It was a good start for Benfica and a good start for my bets  Cheesy

Super Cup final was interesting, especially some last minutes of game. Benfica were up 2:0 and when Pepe got red card, it looked that's the for Porto. Just few moments later Galeno scored fantastic goal, but it was cancelled because there was handball in early phase of attack. I was disappointed about it because that goal would made last minutes of game very exciting, but rules are rules.

The first game of the season is coming up: Super Cup

Porto vs Benfica

The game takes place on the 9th of August. What are your guesses?

If I had posted to answer this question before the game started I wouldn't hesitate to say that the port would win, since the benfica when playing with the port has a tendency to play badly and lose the game, but the game is already over and the porto lost and the most unbelievable thing about it all was seeing porto not being able to score at least 1 goal, as expected in porto games, in this game there was also a red card, this time the red card went to the porto player, something I found strange because in most cases porto wins games based on the advantage that the referees have given them, porto team had chances to score but they wasted and benfica is taking advantage of the opportunities they had

It's funny that there was a move in which the player from Porto touched the ball with his hand but the referee simply ignored it and in the minutes that followed, Benfica scored a goal. I see that in this game the referee was not in favor of Porto, at least in this game, we'll see when the league games start and Porto starts playing if the referee won't be helping Porto to win the games because if Porto doesn't have help from the referees and with this squad and coach, then porto will have a lot of difficulties to win the league with the big difference in points they like to have when they become champions, porto's first game will be against moreirense, it will be very interesting to see how the port and the referees will leave, with that I will start to see if the port will be champion or not

I think Benfica is the favorite in the Portuguese Super Cup final. When we look at the squads of the two teams, Benfica is better and I can say that it has strengthened its power after the di Maria transfer. Our national team player Orkun Kökçü plays as a defensive midfielder. We can say that it is an important match for both teams to try themselves before the league starts and see if they are strong in terms of performance.
I wouldn't say that they're favorites, it's difficult to call favorite in this game, after all, it's first official game for both teams. Bookmakers also don't have favorite.
I would like to see high scoring game, but I was burned a bit with such kind of bets in recent supercups like Belgian or Community Shield, so, 0:0 wouldn't be surprising too.

It sounds like you're looking forward to an exciting match between two teams playing their first official game. Betting on high-scoring games can be unpredictable, especially considering recent results. A 0:0 scoreline wouldn't be too surprising either. Enjoy the match!!!
I believe both teams will score in the second half of the match, and I wouldn't like to see a draw result. My bet today was in favor of Benfica.

The first game of the season is coming up: Super Cup

Porto vs Benfica

The game takes place on the 9th of August. What are your guesses?
In head to head, Porto is superior on paper from Benfica. The last five meetings between the two teams have shown that Porto have won more matches, namely four times and Benfica only once. But it's difficult to predict the final, because usually the final always presents a balanced spectacle, I mean both teams will play more carefully and not be dominant in attack.

Last year was the first year I focused more on the Portuguese league with the bets and I made a very good profit
This year I will again bet on the Portuguese league and I will add another championship to learn better, maybe it will be the Spanish League

Today there's a good warm-up to see what's coming this year
The odds are: Benfica (2.55) x Porto (2.80)

As always, balanced and hard to predict, but I think Benfica will win the Super Cup
