Reuters just needed to find any brain dead claiming they bought Petros and use the word "scam" for their 100,000th propaganda piece. It wasn't hard.

An article from Reuters (100% US propaganda, mostly against Venezuela) was published a couple of weeks ago.

It contains a reference to the poor hysterical idiot cryptoviagra, obviously used as a serious reference, since the reporter even titles the section "we got scammed".
It also contains a reference to me: I answered a few questions through DM on twitter. But Reuters gives more credit to an anonymous guy posting bullshit on a forum than a guy whose name/website is public on twitter, after a private conversation with several details. Furthermore the reporter makes several false claims, like when he says transactions aren't public (they are and he even mentions that, but it's just a way to use the "lack of transparency" card).

In short, the goal is to shame and ridicule the government of Venezuela as usual, totally ignoring the context made of external, massive aggressions (including the perpetual war propaganda). Not that we recently had an assassination attempt against Maduro and another confirmation of a US backed coup plot from the New York Times. According to Reuters that's almost irrelevant.

Here's the article: https://www.reuters.com/article/us-cryptocurrency-venezuela-specialrepor/special-report-in-venezuela-new-cryptocurrency-is-nowhere-to-be-found-idUSKCN1LF15U

UPDATE: Today the Venezuelan government released a message confirming that the new phase of the Petro will be announced and launched by the government on October 1st 2018.

Official message (in Spanish): http://www.minci.gob.ve/el-1-de-octubre-inicia-nueva-etapa-del-petro/

This is happening less the a month after the launch of the most robust set of economic and monetary reforms that seem to be giving relief to the Venezuelan people, mostly thanks to the abolition of currency exchange controls (that is killing the black market speculation from abroad) and a stronger control of the inflation. Stay tuned!  Grin

The president said in an act with businessmen, transmitted on mandatory radio and television, that his government has "bought in 'petro' international companies" raw materials and school supplies, such as pencils and notebooks.

"There are those who said that the 'petro' was a lie. If it were a lie, why do they sanction it, why do they persecute it?" Maduro asked himself.

"The 'petro' is a reality and we have been doing international negotiations with economies, governments, states and strong companies, which will allow us to expand the 'petro' far beyond what has been the use to this day" he added.

Meanwhile the petro is sitting there undistributed with its purchasers just waiting like

Sep 7 2018.- The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, indicated on Friday that he plans to adjust the value of the petro in relation to the bolívar "every so often" so that the citizens have their "petro means" guaranteed.

"I have had meetings with all the business sectors (...) and we have managed to find a balance between national production, secure supply and agreed prices so that the revaluation that I have made of the salary and the bonds remain strong. In any case you should know that the new economic system of the program (...) has a correction factor that will allow, according to the variables of the exchange rate and inflation, to adjust the petro medium, adjust the petro every certain time so that the town has your full petro, its full petro medium, valued in the market, in the street. You understand me, right? "Maduro declared in an act with the Somos Venezuela Movement broadcast on national television.

Previously, Maduro announced the creation of the "vice-presidency of social and territorial socialism" whose position Aristóbulo Istúriz will hold.

"Aristobulo Istúriz assumes the command of the vice-presidency of social and territorial socialism, the construction of missions and major missions to give greater coherence, greater cohesion to all socialist missions to all social policy," he said.

He also indicated that on September 13, 14 and 15 a total of 350,000 members of Movimiento Somos Venezuela will be deployed in the streets to ensure that businesses comply with regulated prices.

"I want these 350 thousand brigadistas to go house to house next weekend, September 13, 14, 15 that we will go through all the neighborhoods to determine the priorities of this new stage and accompany the brigade of Somos Venezuela in the fight for the respect of agreed prices, "he instructed.

He also mentioned that the so-called "carnet de la patria" has been processed by the great majority of the country, including by members of the opposition.

"The identity card of the homeland has been taken by everyone, even very opposition people now have their ID card, happy, (...) I know very, very oppositional people who took their ID card from their homeland and keep it in the heart to sleep every day at his side and I am denied today by the card of the homeland many of those people who do not support the revolution, "he said.

"Already in the card of the homeland 18,375,782 compatriots and you will see how the card of the country is still built as an economic miracle and chavista to protect the people," he concluded.

Venezuela surpasses the United Kingdom in the third place of exchange in LocalBitcoins

After consolidating its position in the first place in the region, with ample margin, Venezuela surpassed in the general balance the United Kingdom in the third position of exchange of Bitcoins through the LocalBitcoins platform, after exchanging 2,523 BTC in the month of August.

Venezuelans, in the midst of an economic crisis that raised inflation levels to the point of registering a galloping hyperinflation of six figures, which according to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), will close the year at 1,000,000%, seeks the alternative way to Bolívar, local currency, to protect their income and purchasing power that has been affected.

Then the economic announcements made by the president of the country, Nicolás Maduro, the uncertainty regarding the future is still present, so that citizens have looked for ways to safeguard their money. Last week, Venezuela presented itself as the leading Latin American country in exchange of LocalBitcoins. At that time, it was ranked fourth globally.

Now, the South American nation climbed to the third place in the world in exchange of Bitcoins through LocalBitcoins, according to figures from Coin Dance, with a total of 2,523 BTC, which is equivalent to just over 18 million dollars -959 million Sovereign Bolivars- at the current price of Bitcoin. With these numbers, it surpassed the United Kingdom, where 2103 BTC were exchanged last month, a little more than 15 million dollars.

Ahead, Venezuela has only Russia, undisputed world leader in August with 8,137 BTC traded in the month, representing just over 58 million dollars, and secondly, the United States, where 3,828 BTC were exchanged, close of 28 million dollars.

Following Venezuela in the Latin American ranking during August, is Colombia, with a total of 867 BTC exchanged, a total of 6 million dollars. Both countries share the leadership of the region, registering 78.4% of the total volume, according to Coin Dance statistics.

Transactions in bitcoin at record levels in Venezuela after the introduction of the sovereign bolivar

By cudolar18
September 3, 2018 15:55

After the Venezuelan decision to revalue its Bolívar to lose 95% of its value, the bitcoin trade has reached the highest levels in history. According to data from Coin Dance, which tracks the trading volume of bitcoins, record highs are recorded on the P2P Local Bitcoins platform in Venezuela.

In the week of August 18 to 25, the bitcoin trade was approximately 300,000,000 bolivares (Ves) each. This figure was only 17,000,000 at the beginning of April and has been increasing rapidly since then. This week is probably the biggest one so far.

What is the sovereign bolivar?

The sovereign bolivar is a fiduciary currency linked to the national petro cryptocurrency that was launched in February 2018 to face the current Venezuelan economic crisis. Petro is supposedly backed by oil reserves. But according to all the legitimate accounts, the oil reserves that support the Petro do not exist, and Petro himself is not used by anyone in the region. In other words, the sovereign bolivar is linked to two "assets" that do not exist outside of the propaganda demanded by the Bolivarian government. It is a desperate attempt to boost an economy that has collapsed, and it is a money by decree, without intrinsic and false value, linked to an imaginary cryptography backed by nothing.

According to the BBC, Venezuela has been paralyzed after the launch of the sovereign bolivar, which resulted in a huge devaluation of the official currency. Thousands of businesses closed and many workers did not show up. Critics have said that the crisis will worsen. This week we will probably see more record in the bitcoin trade. President Maduro recently ordered banks to accept the Petro cryptocurrency to boost the economy, although there is little hope of stabilizing the economy at this late stage through traditional means.

Bitcoin trading: the positive side

However, there is a positive side to this type of crisis. They really pave the way for truly decentralized currencies, and in general, a merger is necessary to serve as a catalyst for smarter options. Venezuela could become the first country on the planet where most people use decentralized currencies as the main means of exchange, compared to the volume of trade of empty bitcoins by merchants and algorithms.

Other cryptocurrencies are also increasing in the area. Dash is now one of the favorites in Venezuela, as it has multiple commercial integration products, as well as inherent privacy features that will be much sought after in totalitarian regimes.

Venezuela is currently the second largest market for the Dash cryptocurrency. Reddit users have also used the Nano cryptocurrency to buy food. The people of Venezuela do not have a currency. It is the perfect market for crypto adoption, especially without any intervention of money supply through centralized actors.

The increase in Bitcoin trading makes a lot of sense as it is the ideal antidote for centralized financial crises that are generally intrinsically linked to oil. Fortunately, other nations can take note and make a peaceful transition before a crisis forces everyone to make the change in suboptimal conditions.

New chapter of Bolivarian stupidity:

4 sept. 2018

The national president, Nicolás Maduro, announced this Monday from the Salón Sol del Perú, at the Miraflores Palace in Caracas, that the crypto currency Petro will enter the Dicom system next October.

"In the month of October, Venezuela will initiate a bidding system with the Venezuelan cryptocurrency Petro, through the Dicom system," said the radio and television broadcaster.

Similarly, the president informed that for the same month, auctions should be held on a daily basis, while he invited the country's businessmen to join this new exchange system, which seeks to stabilize the economy at a real exchange rate. not speculative.

The funny thing is that it is a mystery that receives the few dollars that the regime delivers. The Venezuelan on foot only has the parallel dollar, the bolibusgueses take over everything.

some people are saying that they are working on their own blockchain and technology.
venezuelan economy can't depend on a blockchain that the venezuelan government can't control.
NEM could be shut down anytime by the U.S. world dictatorship if they receive enough money $$$.
or they could sabotage Petro.

What utter bullshit. The U.S. doesn't give a rat's ass about NEM, plus how could they possibly shut it down? It's a completely decentralized blockchain with major hubs all over the WORLD. Making a government-controlled blockchain defeats the whole purpose of cryptocurrency. That's something that Maduro never wrapped his head around.

The Venezuelan government is the one fucking with ACTUAL cryptocurrencies that are a solution to its problems, actively keeping its people hobbled financially:

Coinve either your understanding of cryptocurrency is very weak or you have no shame whatsoever. Better start looking for a new job. you are god awful at this one.

if the U.S. dictatorship doesn't give a shit, Why did they ban the Petro?

At what stage is there this project now? It's not clear from official site and first post of topic.
¿facts or speculation?

facts:
nem token Petro hasn't been released or activated yet.
¿the reason? the venezuelan government hasn't told anything.
President Maduro recently said that there will be good news about Petro soon.
that's the only fact we have so far.
everything else is speculation or bullshit.

what i think:
Quote
the venezuelan government thought it would be something easy.
that they will just release a token using ethereum or nem technology and done.
but they changed plans with the new economic team.
for example attaching the venezuelan economy and currency to the Petro.
this means that there are lot of things to do technologically, legally and formally inside the country.
and that stopped the Petro release, they need more time.

more:
Quote
if they are doing business with petros, i think they are doing it other way.

Lol is an acronym of laugh out loud. It can be used as an interjection and a verb. Lol is one of the most common slang terms in electronic communications. Even though it means laugh out loud, lol is mostly used to indicate smiling or slight amusement.

JK means "Just Kidding" What does JK mean? JK is an acronym, abbreviation or slang word that is explained above where the JK definition is given.
