UPDATES!

The new phase of Petro is about to start and a new White Paper was published:
https://www.petro.gob.ve/descargas/Petro_whitepaper_eng.pdf

The old ICO website was removed, so update your links to the new official Petro website:
https://www.petro.gob.ve

Even if the conversion from the original ICO and PRE-SALE tokens has not happened yet, a Block Explorer is now available:
http://explorador.petro.gob.ve/

A new wallet (presumably compatible with the new blockchain) is now available for Linux, Android and Windows:
https://www.petro.gob.ve/wallet_eng.html

According to the latest announcements, the sale of Petro will start on November 5th.

Everything ends in ruin.

Can you develop please I don't understand what you mean, what NEM wallet activation has to do with POS or POW from another system?Huh Thank you

I know very little about cryptocurrencies, blockchains, etc. From what I read in and understood from, the new white paper, Petro will no longer be a NEM coin. The Venezuelan government has developed its own blockchain platform, which it believes is much more secure. It seems logical to suppose that while they were doing this, they would have paralyzed all Petro blockchain transactions. Of course, I may be interpreting everything incorrectly.

Wow that sounds super interesting, that would resemble the latest move ETH is taking towards greater efficiency in its transaction confirmation network costs.   However I didnt think that kind of thing was necessary for what I expected to be a highly centralised command dictated system.  Traditional crypto definitely should (will imo) transition to POS because its such a user distributed lower cost way of confirming securing transactions, so that'd be really nice to see from PTR and a very surprising turn

I really have to wait for confirmation on that news because it would be so unexpected

If I'm not mistaken, Petro will now function on a hash X11 platform, and will use a combination of PoW and PoS for mining protection. Hopefully, that may be the reason the NEM wallets have not been activated.

Coinve this is deeper than bureaucracy, they ignoring people who bought Elpetro via NEM and are looking for new victim's, it's called a SCAM!!!!
first, you have to probe you bought some petros.
and second, that they are ignoring you.
meanwhile, i'm waiting for an exchange to buy some petros.

Man what are you talking about, prove that I bought Petro ,my Petro are in my wallet and it's impossible to move them, we are ignored by the regime, show me one place where they talk about a swap of the Petro via NEM into the new form of Petro?

Waiting for the exchange pricing was probably a great move generally, not just for this one crypto but overall I've often thought that of lots of coin startups.   Often there is alot of hype, speculation but then the reality of supply and demand can bring the price right down before eventually the coin maybe takes off.

In this case its not gone anywhere anyway, I'm kinda amazed some random people on a forum can launch a coin but an entire government is struggling to do so somehow.    Is this because they have some amazing details and infrastructure to setup or just typical big government bureaucracy

I'm currently in Europe and none of your links work here...
yes.
some people are having problems to access the website from other countries.
here, in Venezuela, i don't have any problem.

Coinve you think I would still comment on here if I did not Invest in this shitcoin...
i didn't buy petros and I'm still here commenting.
Why didn't i buy petros? read my first comment on this thread:

if you don't want to deal with the venezuelan government bureaucracy and their issues,
just fucking wait for exchanges selling petros.

i said it.
"wait until you see exchanges selling petros."

anyway, if you really bought some petros, i guess they're going to contact you.

OK, today is the great day when the petro finally will enter the market. (Anyway, Maduro told us so.)

Well, the petro didn't enter the market. You can't buy it yet. Perhaps you can buy it starting 5th of November.

No talk anymore of the (alleged) great success of the petro so far, of the more than 3.000 millions of dollars captured.

The liquidation value of Petro in any international currency is subject to an administrative fee of 5%.

The Petro will have as many issues as there are in relation to the reserves set as the main support, in a span of ten years.
