Actually, they aren't following their own script anyway. According to the white paper during presale buyers should have received presale tokens, to exchange them during the initial offering into petros. Nothing of this was/is happening.

UPDATE: payments have been received and confirmed.

That was in an email I received today...

1. From tomorrow onwards, the direct purchase of the Petro starts. The Petro can be bought using a whole range of convertible currencies and cryptocurrencies during a period of 15 days.


2. You can download the Petro wallet or application from the Petro website.


3. From April 20th on, we are authorizing real estate purchase using cryptocurrencies, in the whole territory of the country.


4. All government institutions are eligible to charge Petro for their services.


5. The miners will be able to receive their cryptocurrency payments in Petro.


6. The State-owned companies collecting payments for the State should collect them in Petro.


7. We have created 4 special zones for collecting the Petro:
    ● Margarita Island
    ● Los Roques
    ● Paraguana Peninsula
    ● San Antonio border Area


8. The process of organization and legalization of the Petro Cryptocurrency exchange houses has been started.


9. Following the authorized currency redenomination, three zeros would remove from Venezuelan currency.

I am waiting for ETH to go up a bit as it is in a 5 months low now. Paying with fiat is easier because you know exactly the total (apart from the discount).

Depending on how the market goes in the next days or couple of weeks, I'll decide. But yeah, I'll definitely buy.

For those who don't have crypto, the moment is perfect because ETH is soooo cheap. With a bit of luck one could make quick profits buying Petros this week or next.
