It's unlikely.
with a lot of money, everything is possible.

my only worry is that NEM foundation could BAN the Petro from its blockchain following U.S. dictatorship orders.

It's unlikely. If they did they would be so discredited and unreliable that only enslaved idiots would use NEM afterwards. Or only corporate projects would run on it. No serious entity would rely on someone who switches off users based on ideology and mafias.

There are very few projects that show a positive use of crypto as Petro in the world, at the moment. Most of them are speculative ventures that benefit people who are already rich. Venezuela is showing a use of technology that could benefit a whole national real economy and defend it from a brutal aggression. If NEM decides to sabotage this, they won't be considered independent anymore.

are you NEM experts?
i think there is a misinformation, but i'm not a NEM expert to confirm this.
anyway, the following is what i think after investigating about NEM.
don't take it seriously, i can be wrong.

Quote
you can create a Mosaic (token) on NEM network which would be analogues to the ERC20 (token) on Ethereum network.
on NEM network, you create a namespace and then a mosaic (token) paying a fee.

then what?
how those tokens will be converted to PetroCoins?
or... those tokens are the PetroCoins?

remember that Petro is not a coin builded from scratch with its own blockchain like Bitcoin or Ethereum.
Petro will use the NEM technology and blockchain (forever? i don't know).

DIMCOIN (dimcoin.io) use NEM technology and blockchain.
on coinmarketcap.com:
- if you search Bitcoin, it says Coin Mineable. link here
- if you search Dimcoin, it says Token. link here

for this reason i think Petro will be a NEM Mosaic (Token) and staying that way (forever? i don't know).

if what i think is correct
then that's why they didn't send anything during the presale or during the ICO
because the Petro will be a NEM Mosaic (Token) and staying that way.
so... you will receive your Petros (Mosaics or Tokens) at the end of ICO.

my only worry is that NEM foundation could BAN the Petro from its blockchain following U.S. dictatorship orders.
if that happen, the venezuelan government could use another technology or return the invest in the worst case.

It would be surprising if it wasn't the case. You will receive Petro at the end of ICO.

Actually, they aren't following their own script anyway. According to the white paper during presale buyers should have received presale tokens, to exchange them during the initial offering into petros. Nothing of this was/is happening.

that's really bad, but i didn't expected nothing different.
there are really too much interests, too much contenders, an enormous debt that a lot of people want to be payed.

I'm afraid things will go really slow

Fyodor is a mystery.
There is nothing that says he's one of the people in charge of the technical development of Petro.
The guy never showed again.

He got a quick interview a few weeks ago (but don't remember where, it was in English).

But all the information on him and his website are in Russian.

Druzhkov and Fyodor Bogorodsky were reportedly seated in the front row in the presidential palace during the much-publicized launch of the Petro last month. The two Russians were also thanked by the President ‘for aiding his fight against American “imperialism”’, the report added.

“Of the two Russians who also signed agreements with the government to help develop the petro one, Denis Druzhkov, CEO of a company called Zeus Trading, was fined $31,000 and barred from trading for three years by the Chicago Mercantile Exchange for fraudulent trading in futures’ contracts,” read an excerpt from a separate investigative report by the Associated Press. “The other, Fedor Bogorodskiy, lives in Uruguay and was described by the government as director of a company, Aerotrading, whose website consists of a single home page with no company information.”

I don't think this is completely correct.
Right.

Denis is the only one that is or was CEO of Zeus Exchange.

Fyodor is a mystery.

The guy never showed again.

Maduro was probably given wrong information during the Petro launch event because he correctly mentioned Aerotrading, but wrongly mentioned NEM, calling it a "company" (while it's a foundation). Actually NEM is just the blockchain they are using, not a partner.

Zeus is likely withdrawing their support for obvious political pressures. The US behave like a mafia (they always did), so nobody can do anything without their consent in their areas of influence (or they end up being treated like Venezuela). Venezuela can only create partnerships within countries outside of US mafia influence: mostly China, Russia to name the most industrialised. India is huge and complex but politically it is currently strongly influenced by the US.

So the 2 guys on the left are the Russian millionaires/billionaire that advise President MADURO?? One of them is said to be living in south America, is that correct? Thank ypu

There's no reason to believe that they are millionaires or billionaires. The Time article describes them as businessmen having "ties to to major Russian banks and billionaires". And yes, one of them (Bogorodsky) lives in Uruguay.

Here a picture of that meeting.
The two guys on the left were in the Zeus website.

Denis Druzhkov and Fyodor Bogorodsky
This old picture shows that they changed its website.
Here an old news with Denis and Olga together, lmao.

I don't think this is completely correct.

Fyodor Bogorodsky has nothing to do with Zeus, as far as I know. He is based in Uruguay (and sounds more like an idealist than anything else to me): almost all information on him is in Russian though (which I don't speak unfortunately). So it's very hard to know from decent sources. I think he is one of the people in charge of the technical development of Petro in his Russian company Aerotrading. Very little information on it.

Denis Druzhkov, is actually CEO and co-founder of Zeus.

i don't know what they were doing in Venezuela and they never said anything.
Zeus is just a cryptocurrencies exchange with its offices in Singapore, i believe.
and that's all.

This "information" may be true or false, but what is obvious is its intention to harm el Petro; intention that is present in everything this person posts.
The news seems legit.

By the way, Zeus changed its website and remove from its team the two guys that met with the venezuelan president.
I wonder way? lmao.

Anyway, it doesn't matter, that won't stop the Petro.
I think the only way you can stop the Petro is shutting down all internet.
or the venezuelan government never release the Petro because technical issues or incompetence.

Thanks for the info Happyminer ,Zeus is based in Singapore, they don't want no problems with the United States,it will be different for exchanges based in Russia but it shows that it won't be easy to get Petros outside of ICO which could make it skyrocket or crash...we will find out soon enough...Cheers

Zeus distances itself from the petro

Maduro himself and the pro-government media claimed various times that NEM and the company Zeus were involved in the petro project and that the government had signed contracts with those "companies". NEM disclaimed the allegation already some time ago, now Zeus follows suit. Zeus also declared that they have no plans to "include Venezuelan cryptocurrency Petro token to trade at Crypto Zeus trading platform":
