There are several groups trying to create cryptocurrency ETFs.What will happen to the value of bitcoin if Bitcoin ETFs are approved ?
Well it's hard to predict what will be happen to that ETF because until now theres no sign if its approved or not. But I think theres no affect to bitcoin if the ETF is approved or not because bitcoin is bitcoin before that ETF is come.
Nope you know that many things affect the market and the price of bitcoin. even someone's speculation can be influential if followed by many investors. especially the SEC which is a well-known institution and agency in the field of trade. of course the approval from the SEC can make many investors arrive.

In my opinion there is a game behind all of this, they deliberately create conditions like this so that the price of bitcoin continues to decline and they can buy at low prices. after that there will be news if the ETF has been approved. this is only my guess.

They will keep delaying all these until no one cares anymore and that's the time they approve. Even so they want no one will care when its going to be approved and I think you should really not care about it at all. I once want it to happen since last year but I doubt it will really happen in my lifetime. You just focus on more on acquiring more altcoins.

Basically SEC kept rejecting all ETF applicants for the reason of lack of central administration for taking care of investors but that could not be fixed with bitcoins. I do believe only when SEC starts realizing the features of being  decentralized system like everyone should take care of themselves and should not depend on an authority then most probably we may get approval.

I'm not seeing SEC to liberalize their terms in near future but it may happen when there will be new people with modern thoughts governing there.
You might be right because even Winklevoss brothers also was not able to convince SEC. I mean even they are ready with all the requirements, the base of cryptocurrencies is till remaining as barrier here. Probably, SEC needs more time to study the crypto ecosystem but I suspect that they will compare it with traditional system which might lead to disagree with cryptocurrencies hence approvals may still get delayed for infinite time period.

Blockchain and decentralization concepts are becoming part of academic curriculum which may help higher officials to understand better and then may start considering to approve bitcoin based ETFs.

There will be no effect on the price.

And they are not going to approve it before we reach three-digits.

why does ETF have no effect on prices? when we reach three digits and the ETF is approved, it won't change the price? then why are they waiting for us to reach three digits?

Bitcoin is no doubt bitcoin but we need ETF to be approved if we need to see a lot of rise in the prices of bitcoins. Currently there is not anything speical going on with bitcoin and every one is uncertain about bitcoin so the adaption rate is very low.

If ETF is approved we can see another big bull run this year, else i am not sure if the bear market will end or not. Sad

An etf is definitely not needed for the price to rise. Once the sellers on the market feel safe the bottom is in and so there is no reason to sell at current prices (which could take a bunch of months) the price will start to rise as they decide that selling at three or four thousand dollars isn't a good deal for them. An ETF if approved soon would likely make the price rise sooner, but it is by no means needed to make the price rise. An etf is just one of many factors that can contribute to the next bull run (ie more countries officially recognizing Bitcoin like Japan did in 2017, institutional players entering the market through stuff like BAKKT and Fidelity etc, greater merchant adoption, continued tech advancement including the LN, more financial people getting on board and publicly talking about the future of bitcoin, etc.

The crypto asset management firm Bitwise has filed an initial registration form for a new Bitcoin ETF proposal with U.S. regulator SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission).

https://coincodex.com/article/2859/bitwise-proposes-new-bitcoin-etf/
I just wonder what changes they have made within themselves so that they will get approved unlike what we have seen in the past. Until now, so many ETF applications were rejected and I do not think what will be the possibility if we keep trying on.

SEC once again delayed the decision on whether to approve or reject the VanEck SolidX Bitcoin Trust!

https://coincodex.com/article/2721/sec-delays-decision-on-vaneck-solidx-btc-etf-sets-february-27-deadline-for-final-decision/

Well a lot of people are eager for an approval asap expecting it'll save the year for them but i wonder what's going to happen if it gets denied considering the state bitcoin's in right now.

It will be too late for any of you, none of us will ever know what the price will do if it gets accepted because the price will be affected way before the acceptance and we will know even before the results comes to us.

When we read the news that it is accepted the price would have probably already skyrocketed. People with insider info will buy as much as they can afford and let other friends know afterwards, they will buy and let others know, with that going about when it reaches to us it will be way too late to do anything about it. Do no expect a sudden change whenever it is accepted because you will not profit from it, whales will.
At the end of the day, it would just be another FOMO period and the same rinse and repeat cycle kicking in again.
People tend to think that the approval of bitcoin ETF will all of a sudden just bring about a huge change in the price of bitcoin and massive adoption, but all these things take time.

I would not see anything different from now when compared to when everyone was calling moon because of the futures contract. With ETF approval, I do not see anything happening that would not have happened anyway without it.

Yeah, we will get to see some whales try to instigate price movement because of the news, knowing a lot of FOMO will kick in again, and may be afterwards is when we will get to even see the capitulation phase, when the market gets driven down hard the more.

A day is coming when this ETF will be approved and by then we would see how bitcoin is going to react to it.  However,  I am thinking ethereum will be the most beneficial as many ETF tokens will be louch on it.  Bitcoin will actually go bullish and it might get another moon because of the new investors coming into the market.

For ETH to get an ETF of its own Bitcoin first needs one. It won't be the other way around.

However I don't see an ETF for ETH anytime in the near future due to the problem that it still might be considerered a security.

Another issue with ETH is the tokens that it supports where a large portion of them ended up being pure scams. This won't go well with the SEC.

At first a BTC ETF for a few years to test stability and volume and active interest and then maybe an ETH ETF might be in the works.

At first there will definitely be hype.

People in the short term will buy up this news due to FOMO, in my opinion. However, in the long run, it's safe to say that there will essentially be no longlasting effects that an approved ETF would bring. Perhaps, it could lead to more market manipulation, even.

And that's only given that the unapproved, upon review ETFs are going to get approved. At this stage, it's very unlikely even though deadlines have been postponed that there is a serious possibility that previous precedents would be reversed.

The price will be able to rise up higher but it will not be like last year However The ETF accepted will increase all investors' and users' failth and this fact will lead to bigger extension of bitcoin . After that bitcoin is possibly considered as future assets .
Do not be so sure yet, so many people said the same thing when the CME and CBOE futures contract was going to be launched and I saw a lot of people even calling $1m.

ETF or no ETF, the market has been growing and nothing will change the fact that even without it, the market would still not continue with its steady growth over the years as well as development, so I really do not see much effect even if there is any at all when it comes to ETF being approved.

We should focus more on seeing real life usage, than just assuming that ETF approval will just save the day for people who are looking to acquire wealth in the short term. Institutions are not dumb, they will get the weak hands out of the way to gain a better position in the long run.

I think it will be no different than what happened with the Bitcoin futures last year. It will be buy the rumor and sell the news.

Basically it created alot of hype. People were thinking that people with their 401K pensions would be buying into the BTC futures and it would make the value sky-rocket and instead the opposite happened.

Even if you look at the volume and open interest for the CBOE and CME futures, its still very low. Compared that to the Gold markets which is huge.

An ETF is no different. People right now can buy BTC anyways if they really want to. Most will be scared to invest in BTC due to the huge volatility that it has experienced this past 9 months.
