Returning to the initial setting, Man United had just been praised for their dramatic win over Aston Villa, but in front of Notthm Forest couldn't do much more than have to submit with a score of 2-1.  What's wrong with this fight?  Man United really can't predict the direction of their game, sometimes when they are in doubt  they actually play well but on the other hand, when they are sure they can get 3 points against a weaker team the results are always  surprising. For Notthm Forest, they have played  an extraordinary game which is able to provide an important lesson to Erik Ten Hag that in the Premier League even  weak clubs  can be deadly weapons on the pitch. What made this match interesting was that the second goal was scored during a counter-attack carried out by Notthm Forest players, which was due to the contribution of former Man United himself namely Elanga, and he managed to open the way easily in the opponent's defense line when he was ready.

I think what we should ask ourselves is which of the results was rather expected and not a surprise? And for me the answer is that I did not expect Manchester United to win against Aston Villa whereas I thought they could loses the game against Nottingham Forest. Manchester United has those games sometimes where they leave people behind with questions, like they did against Aston Villa. But I doubt that they would make up for a two goal difference if they played that game against Aston Villa again. They don't have a standard performance where they can rely on. It is wild and one week they play like this and the next week they play like that. There is no consistency in their game.

I have actually not seen any team play as badly as Everton played today, the players were moving on the field like they had some issues with the coach and were just forced to be on the field, they created less chances and were very bad in the midfield and defense.
Great game from wolves the played with passion and every man in the team was amazing and this was a well deserved win which could have been more goals.

Certainly agree with you. Against Manchester City, they were looking somewhat okay. But against Wolves, they kinda lost their touch. They had no shots on target and they had taken 8 shots in the total match.

Max Kilman got the lead for Wolves in the first half and the rest of the goals came for Wolves in the 2nd half. Overall job well done by Wolves. As for Everton, this loss got them closer to the relegation zone. Things are not looking good for them and they might get relegated this season.
Everton should manage to get points from these matches because these are the matches of teams with equal strengths. Their inability to show any presence against Wolves brought a very painful result. Everton was upset when Wolves took 3 points from them with 3 goals. The Premier League is cruel. If Everton gets relegated, maybe they won't be able to get back into the Premier League. So they must be very good.

Everton is very close to being relegated on the table. They presently sit at number 17 on the league table. But I believe they can still avoid being relegated if they can improve in their performance. With the presence of Sheffield and Burnley in the relegation zone, Everton can still escape relegation with little improvement on their performance.

Everton after their remarkable uptrend has now turned into a losing team for the last three consecutive games. I was impressed how they were coping with the 10 points deduction and how they resisted to give up and out of a sudden started collecting important points also against the good teams, but now they are in the middle of the fight against the relegation zone again. But there is still lots of hope for them for a good reason. They know they can do better than that and I think they will be among the teams that successfully stay in the Premier League eventually.

Sheffield is struggling pretty hard and Burnley, too, as they are the two teams with really the worst defensive lines in the league. But Luton Town have their moments and should not be underestimated of course.

Nottingham just continue to smash every big obstacle coming in their way.  Grin  After defeating Newcastle away by a really satisfying score they destroyed Manchester United home this time. Maybe 2-1 is not much of a destruction but I call it like that anyway when a much smaller team defeats one of top teams in a league.  Smiley

Manchester United are a top team maybe but their performance is just very poor this season. There is still no change about that clearly. I wonder how Erik ten Hag will find a solution to this. He still has credit in the board seemingly. He had better take advantage of it in some way.

I think Chelsea actually took things easy towards the end because they ended up conceding two goals in a quick time. Chelsea was looking to keep a clean sheet before that. And those two goals actually changed the complexion of the match. Suddenly it looked like Chelsea was in trouble. But in the end, Chelsea was able to actually win the match. But they didn't dominate the match for sure. Which I expected them to do. But actually, Luton Town played far better than expected. They definitely played well for a team that is currently in the relegation zone. If they could keep themselves on the side in this match, probably they could have actually walked off with 1 point.

After Roman Abramovich left Chelsea, Chelsea turned into an ordinary Premier League team. As the quality players in the team were also injured, they played away against Luton Town today as a completely ordinary team. From my point of view, there is only Thiago Silva in the team that I know, and I think he is now at the test of his career.
Chelsea made the match 0-2 with two goals in the first half and the first half ended with this score. At the 70th minute, C.Palmer scored his second goal of the match and Chelsea's third. Just when Chelsea thought they would win the match easily, the match became difficult when Luton Town scored two goals in the 80th and 87th minutes. The excitement peaked in the last minutes, but Luton Town could not score the 3rd goal and the match ended with Chelsea winning 2-3. With this victory, Chelsea achieved their first away win in the last 5 matches. He had previously lost 4 matches. I miss Chelsea's quality squad of previous years.

Sheffield United are so weak this season they are very fragile in their defense because many of the opponents they face can score a lot of goals against them  I think the match that will take place between Manchester city vs Sheffield united will be quite easy to predict because these two teams have quite different player qualities. I think Manchester city can score lots of goals against Sheffield united because their defense is so weak this season.

I think Sheffield united will not be able to get out of the relegation zone this season because it is quite difficult for them to win in the matches they play. I think management should be able to improve their defense line better because so far they have conceded 47 goals. Maybe Sheffield united will lose again at the etihad stadium.
Sheffield this season have not been a good side. They've had a number of defeats, even though they try to score a goal in most games they play. They just don't have the quality needed to stay on top of the league standings. In the EPL, leaving it's competitive nature aside, most times, Sheffield United can be predictable not to deliver adequately but they shouldn't be condemned fully.

They played away to City and it was definitely expected that City would make an impact. They were the host and definitely a better side than them. City wouldn't let them have their way. Although they were able to prevent more than the scores 2 goals from being netted but their efforts wasn't just enough. Even though it was certain to be an easy win for City, Sheffield didn't get the chance to net a goal in the game and that definitely shows the class of these two teams.

In fact, I have already said what I will say in another thread that actually those who are at the top of points table or in the top 3 have performances that are not worthy or I mean Arsenal, Liverpool and Aston Villa are not yet strong enough to be leaders of the Premier League and Look at how Aston villa was beaten by Manchester United and Asenal was beaten West Ham.
From the conclusion above, we can estimate that to be able to maintain a position in first place in points table, you must have very high consistency.
football is not some sort of a perfectly placed activity, Teams experience good and bad times, these teams you've mentioned above have had periods they played really well and were applauded by everyone, it's quite unfortunate that they lost form slightly this past week and lost matches, but that is not enough reason to look down on them. Sometimes these players suffer from fatigue or injuries and it affects their team play for some time, when there are good players on the bench, their inefficiencies are effectively compensated. In the case of Aston villa, they over relaxed and it cost them the game, but not withstanding, learning is everyday and I believe these teams have spotted their weaknesses and will work on it to give us a better and expected performance on their next campaign.
Yes, I really understand what you are saying, in other words, sometimes surprises come from weak clubs and big clubs will lose.
I really understand that some of these clubs have had success in the past, but I'm just here to tell you a story and remind you to be careful betting on the matches of these three clubs because it cannot be said to be consistent and it was all proven if Arsenal lost yesterday's match.
Next, Liverpool's upcoming match will be against Newcastle. I predict Liverpool will win or draw, but I will not bet on that match because I feel that I will be cursed by the Newcastle match.
Next, Aston Villa against Burnley is one that is difficult to predict but it is more comfortable if you bet on a double chance to avoid the surprise of Aston Villa or Burnley.
Manchester City will play Sheff United and without hesitation I choose Manchester City as the winner because it looks like Haaland is back and I just want Manchester City to get back to first place quickly, displacing a club that doesn't have high consistency.

I agree that West Ham is in great shape as they don't lose patience. Seriously, in this game it was all about resisting and giving Arsenal a hard time to get closer to the box in a good position. Arsenal had so many chances, but hardly any of those chances were huge. That's what West Ham made sure to protect themselves from conceding quick and easy goals. Of course at the end of the day there was also some luck involved. Otherwise you can't win a game that is essentially a game with only one direction. But really if that penalty was scored, what a tough total would that have been? 0-3? Wow, but doesn't matter. West Ham is on a good run!

I don't care the kind of form West Ham is in this is a match Arsenal should have won. They messed up by losing this match to West Ham. They were at home and they had the advantage. Is West in a better form than Arsenal?
This is just what Arsenal do, they always bottle their opportunities. They were supposed to win the league the year Leicester won it, they were supposed to win the league last season but they messed up and allowed Man City win it, now they've lost and giving either Liverpool or Manchester City a chance to win the league again.
Now Manchester City has an outstanding match, if they win that match they'll be second and top Arsenal with goals.

I don't know if any team is ever supposed to win the Premier League as you call it. Liverpool was supposed to win it a couple of times but they couldn't because there was this superior team called Manchester City. Bayern is supposed to win the Bundesliga, yes. But no team is supposed to win the Premier League as the average quality of the teams is highly different. PSG is supposed to win Ligue 1, but you are talking as if Arsenal is to the Premier League what PSG is to Ligue 1, but no, that is definitely not the case! Cheesy

I think Arsenal are massively overrated. They had one good season in like a decade and still didn’t win the league. They have an average goalkeeper and impotent strike force. I think Saliba and Gabriel are a good CB partnership but their fullbacks are mediocre. The midfield is pretty good but I don’t think they are good enough to win big titles yet.

Their fans would bet to differ. I've said it countless times but their fans always make it a point to try and shot me up. They think winning titles is about having a few good days. It's not everyday they'd get it easy and in those moments they'd need talents that can come from the bench and make things happen. I can't remember the number of times Klopp made a late change that got Liverpool winners — from Nunez to Jota and there's no way I'd make mentions like this without adding Divrok Origi Wink

Nkettiah and Nelson came on yesterday and play absolute rubbish.

I sometimes think they might be slightly overrated. Massively overrated sounds like an exaggeration to me, but slightly is enough to come to the conclusion that it is not very likely for them to be ready to win the Premier League yet. The results have been bad recently, but the results were not necessarily perfectly reflective of how the games went. But that's something that can happen to the other teams. Manchester City had a few games this season that were dominated by them and yet ended with a bad result.

It's true, things haven't been easy for Tottenham and Arsenal after losing their last match. Arsenal's failure to win meant they failed to lead the standings and this also put Liverpool at the top. Tottenham have ultimately suffered a dip in form even though they did something very convincing at the start of the season. Everything changed so quickly for them and so far Tottenham have struggled to return to their top performance.

The poor results experienced by Arsenal and Tottenham provide a good opportunity for Manchester City and Aston Villa to provide tough competition. This is the advantage of the Premier League compared to other leagues in Europe, competition between teams in the race for the title is very tight.
Arsenal and Tottenham’s loss yesterday wasn’t expected and it’s one loss that would come haunting in nearest future. Tottenham who started the season pretty well now sits around 5th spot and could even get a slip off that position if they continue having losses to their form and that’s not really good especially with the sweet start to the season they had, there's still lots of work for Ange Postecoglou to get this team kicking again, especially adding more players to their depth.

Arsenal who failed to lead the log after falling to Moyes plan at the Emirate, yes the loss was important more especially for the coach but it could haunt them to; now the battle for the league is pretty open for the likes of Manchester City who are defending champions and Aston Villa. This fierce competition in the league, makes the EPL a very sweet one and competitive and also helps to boost team’s performance.

Because Manchester City were already able to win only once in their last 5 matches in the Premier League. If they lose points here too it would be a disaster for them. I know Everton are on the rise recently but we are talking about Manchester City here. The Manchester club must be able to find a way to make a comeback!
And in the end they were able to beat Everton 3-1. This is a good result for City and they will be able to continue to improve their ranking. Aston Villa's defeat further enabled City to catch up on some of the points they were left behind. The competition in the Premier League is becoming increasingly exciting to watch. But I doubt City will be able to become champions this season because they really struggled when Haaland and De Bruyne were injured. But at least they will be able to secure a place in the top four and qualify for the Champions League.

Seeing De Bruyne and Haaland returning at the same time would make Guardiola very happy for the upcoming matches. Because when these two players are both on the pitch Manchester City are playing way different than this. This would even be the main factor to help them climb the standings to the top once again.

In the end we have just reached the halfway in the season so there is so many more matches to be played. The balance of the league can change significantly just as it has happened so far. It is up to Arsenal and Liverpool to be consistent and try their best to stay ahead of Manchester City.  Smiley

As far as I know Arsenal are already looking for a striker seriously. Because I have seen some transfer speculations related to them for the centre-forward position. Maybe Guirassy is also a target for them as he has a release clause which can be activated in January. But there will surely be some other big teams going after him as well. Guirassy is a really great talent with the performance level he has shown so far. He can be a useful player for Arsenal as he isn't an old player either.

But in this case I wonder whether Arsenal would think of parting their ways with Nketiah or Gabriel Jesus.  Huh

Crystal Palace have shown great interest in Nketiah in the next transfer season of January but I don't think that will be possible at the moment as Arsenal have shown interest in his forwards and I don't think they are in any way considering that. Maybe in the next transfer season.

Jesus on the other hand have tried to shown consistency over this season but he still faced many criticism over the 2-0 lost to West Ham club. However, Henry have supported the player full time.

I think Arsenal still have the squad depth to perform averagely well in the new year but still needs to work on their strike. I feel like they still need one goal machine in the forward.
