Indeed, with De Bruyne's injury, Manchester City's midfield situation seems to have lost its enthusiasm. We have to admit, De Bruyne is known as the creative brain in City's midfield. His absence could reduce attacking creativity and the ability to create goal opportunities. Without a player like De Bruyne, City may have difficulty organizing play and penetrating opposing defenses.

The importance of key players like Rodri, Haaland and De Bruyne in the Manchester City squad cannot be ignored. Guardiola must be able to rotate players intelligently and choose the right replacement. This involves understanding each player's specific role and ensuring that when key players are absent, there are strategies in place that can keep the team balanced.

yes indeed Although City having a good defense can help prevent conceding goals, losing the ability to score goals can be a problem. Therefore, finding a solution to remain effective in attack without key players is very important.
Manchester City squad has some key players that when they’re absent the team seems to face a decline in performance. KDB is one key player especially with his long eye sight for assisting the point striker Haaland. And if you notice, this season KDB has been out for over 3 months you see that Manchester City’s midfield isn’t looking too organized.

Another player of utmost importance is Rodri who has missed some matches which in those matches City have lost because of missing his defensive abilities; now with this key players in key positions, I think it’s a big task for Pep when it comes to team selection when one or two of these key players are inactive. For you to be champions you don’t need just defensive abilities but also high goal scoring abilities too is essential.

Liverpool v Arsenal... What a match to watch!  Grin

This match is going to be really crucial for taking the lead or maintaining it. Liverpool have to win if they want to push Arsenal down from the 1st position. As the match is at Anfield why not? Liverpool are one of the best teams in home matches in the Premier League this season. They have 7 wins and 1 draw. That draw was due to their lack of finishing skills against Manchester United. But I don't think they will be the same against Arsenal as well. I favour Liverpool for the win.  Smiley

I thought Alvarez's performance would be good, but Haaland's absence is very obvious. Unfortunately, the absence of one player is tiring for City. If Haaland suffers an injury for 5-6 months, City can only finish the season in the mid-table. KDB was the brains of the team and City was already badly affected by his injury. Moreover, when Haaland's absence is added to this, Manchester City continues to deteriorate.
Losing KDB and Haaland from the Manchester City squad is currently a big loss for Manchester City, even though they still have replacement players, but it is clear that the creativity of the attacks built by Manchester City has decreased drastically when these two players are absent, so far Pep Guardiola has focused too much on KDB as a driving the midfield and also being Haaland's main supporter, his full trust in KDB and Haaland all this time has finally boomeranged for Pep, who is now starting to have difficulty finding other players who are capable of doing the same thing as KDB and Haaland are doing in the Manchester City squad.

The decline in Haaland's performance is due to several causes and it is impossible for a quality player to have decline in performance without there being cause and I don't know what the cause is for sure, seeing Haaland and De Bruyne are already in harmony, I am very happy even though I don't know when he will appear with Manchester City, which is certain if These two players will appear again soon, of course MC will soon recover from his slump and immediately win the first position in the points table.
For Guardiola, this is not a difficulty but like a challenge that must be completed in the near future to catch up on points behind Arsenal.
There must be reasons for a quality player declining in performance. The dynamics of football are complex, injuries and tactical adjustments can influence a player's form. The anticipation of Erling Haaland's return and the potential partnership with Kevin De Bruyne is a source of optimism for Manchester City fans. The chemistry between them both can indeed be a catalyst for success, and their understanding on the field could significantly elevate the rhythm and the attacking prowess.

Seeing this as a challenge or a difficulty is a positive mindset. Guardiola is well-known for his tactical thought to thrive in finding solutions to overcome them. The belief that Guardiola sees this as a challenge that can be overcome is a testament to his strategic approach and determination. It's unclear when Haaland will return, but the prospect of him joining forces with De Bruyne in the near future is exciting to wait for. If these two players can establish a strong partnership, it could indeed propel Manchester City back into contention for the top spot.
Yes, the chemistry between Pep Guardiola's two mainstay players is very reliable because if these two players can appear again with Manchester City they will definitely get more consistent wins and even win the Champions League title again, but the problem is we don't know when they will return soon and other questions If De Bruyne returns, will he be able to perform optimally?
This question still dominates my mind to this day because even though he has returned but cannot make a good contribution, MC performance will definitely be the same, but even though this worry still crosses my mind, I still believe Haaland can be a reliable player.
I know Pep Guardiola character, he is an intelligent coach who can always solve every problem and get the best solution and the fact is that up until now he lost his two mainstay players, this club can still survive even though it is not in first place, but if Haaland returns I am sure that if we face him with a strong club it will definitely be a very easy match.

So true, once rodri got injured and manchester city was always consistently getting several lost in a row. im seeing that if rodri has the most important role in the club right now. Im saying based on the truth if manchester city can't even play without rodri right now.
Im not saying he was the best but rodri is the only player that can help manchester city to get its club aware if city needs someone like rodri and de bruyne. This is the main problem owned by manchester city.

I have heard that pep has been targeting fulham's midfielder. I hope he will be the right decision for pep guardiola right now. Manchester city needs to get some players. The club needs to put attacking midfielder and striker as the main positions to be filled too.
This is caused by manchester city needs to anticipate once the club will be missing those guys like haaland and rodri due to the injuries. This is very important decision that needs to be taken as soon as possible.

Manchester city doesn't have good quality players like all of them. City needs to find their backup.
When Debruyne got injured, they had a set back but it wasn't very much cause they still got some player maker's and attacker that could make sure they secure the 3 points, but when Rodri was booked with a card, Manchester City suffered in the midfield cause they could find a substitution player that could hold the defensive midfield and stop the opposition midfielders from creating chances, City conceded goals and even got beaten by Wolverhampton and Newcastle.

The thing about the club is that every player in each wing has a role to play, but there are some key players that if they're out of the squad you'll see them struggling to succeed despite Amy formation Pep Guardiola trys, players like, Rodri, Haaland, Debruyne, these are key players that makes City very strong and tough to play against, and now Haaland and Debruyne are out, they might not concede much cause they've got good defense but they'll struggle to score for a while.

Even if those guys were not injured and the performance from manchester city was still bad. The absence of those players will make the performance of manchester city become even worst. I have no faith on manchester city this season.
It seems like that the club was not making some improvements. It was only relying upon some players. As you can see that how manchester city was playing so badly. We can imagine that if manchester city will be missing some players like KDB, haaland and alvarez at the same time.
It's going to be a serious problem caused by manchester city has main mission to defend some of its trophies achieved last season. Pep needs to find a solution for this problem.
I can't really sure about what kind of plan will be prepared by pep but it seems like that needs time to go so well. Even missing KDB has been giving huge impact to the city. The worst thing is going to happen if city will be missing a lot of players.

But when compared to its competitors in the race for the English league champions, Manchester City is still stronger than Arsenal or Aston Villa. liverpool's other candidates are equal to Manchester City. still Manchester City is still the strongest candidate, but if Haland is injured there is no comparable striker stock. only Julian Alvares is still far from his level when compared to Haland.
And Liverpool also only competes in the Europa League which is lighter competition compared to Manchester City who fights in the Champion League.

I was surprised when I saw how City didn't have good squad depth. I used to think City had good quality reserve players. But it seems they can't match the quality of the first team. In fact, for a team that is aiming for the championship title, they need consistent play in every match. This means that the team must have good squad depth so that when key players are injured they can still perform consistently. But I also don't blame City because Kevin De Bruyne's injury was a complete disaster for the team because KDB barely played in half the season.

@Godday Pep definitely needs fresh recruits to ensure City keep fighting on all fronts because Pep is a serial winner and he knows that he can’t hide behind the excuse that he didn’t win because his star player’s got injured. Furthermore there’s one particular outgoing we should discuss Phillips to Manchester United from Manchester City do you’ll think that it’ll take place in the January transfer window?

Kevin De Bruyne and Haaland were two important figures in the Manchester City squad last season, so when one of them suffered an injury and was absent from defending the team, it certainly disrupted the team's performance, especially if both of them were not there.
However, if we talk about the possibility of winning the Premier League, I think Man City is still very much in the cards and with quite a lot of games remaining in this season, anything is still possible, especially as Manchester City is currently only 5 points behind Arsenal who are at the top of the standings Premier League.
You forgot to mention Rodri in the list. With the absence of De Bruyne, Rodri’s presence has been very important to the squad because whenever he got injured, the team always feel it, likewise whenever Haalandbis in the field, they have that confidence of winning even though if they are without ball he is an irrelevant player, but if they created any chance he will show his quality as a good striker that is why they missed him due to injury.

It is true that the roles of Kevin De Bruyne and Haaland are very important in the squad, but Pep Guardiola knows what he has to do to overhaul his squad in this match and he has to really get used to staying focused on other players if Kevin De Bruyne and Haaland are absent because injured, so Pep Guardiola already knows which reserve players will be used. In the world of football, if you only rely on 1 or 2 players, it will not be possible to be successful in the future and of course it still requires teamwork to continue to develop well. That way, if one day one of the main players is absent, of course the other players can still make a good contribution to the squad to achieve victory.
I am also sure that Manchester City will definitely be more focused on facing their opponents in the remaining matches to achieve victory in the next match, so that they can continue to compete with Arsenal and Liverpool to win first place at the top of the standings or become champions of the English League this season.
The partnership of Kevin De Bruyne and Haaland last season was very impressive, went Haaland arrived Manchester  City it was as if he's found his missing piece, playing together as teammates,  but this season I noticed that Haaland performance dropped despite the fact that he's still found the back of the net multiple times, but if KDB was not injured I think Haaland goal would had been more or double the amount of goals he's score currently.

I think things are gradually becoming tough for Pep this season and needs to do everything possible to make sure they don't drop due to the absent of their key players, when De Bruyne got injured it really affected them a little but now their striker is injured, it might become difficult for them to score goals, well I trust Pep Guardiola to develop  a good strategy that would sustain them from losing without Haaland, now one of the attackers have to play as a false 9, Alvarez or silva.

I think the reign of Manchester city seems to be over in both the champion League and the Premier League respectfully since Manchester City have been a twice title holder in both leagues so for now it become a pay back time for them and for such Manchester city have to leave the title for other clubs who are already making good use of the current state of things in the premier leagues to accumulate alot of points that will help them to remain at top competitive position before the final stage of the competition.
It's very true what you say. Indeed, there is nothing wrong with thinking that City still has a big chance, but it seems like the poor results obtained due to Haaland's absence in the last few matches shows that they have problems in attack. There is no finisher as good as Haaland in their team. That will be a problem, especially if a club relies heavily on the performance of a striker. Initially, without the presence of Kevin De Bruyne, City's performance did decline a little but they were still quite competitive. Currently, after several matches they don't have Haaland, I can say that The Citizens' performance is really bad at the moment.

Manchester City might have been dominating the EPL since the arrival of Pep Guardiola, however im not quite sure if they'll still win the league again this season, if you notice their performance in the league currently you'll see they've declined and are now finding it tough winning against some mediocre teams in the league,  therefore it made them drop points that’s why they're in the position they're currently, well i get your point and there's a possibility of history repeating itself but im not going to conclude yet till they get to the 30th week.

Since Kelvin Debruyne absence alot has happened and it felt like some part of the team became exposed, giving other teams a chance to predict Guardiola's strategy, but with his arrival by January, we'll begin to see a very tough and brilliant City that scores alot of goals, it's going to be a big boost for them cause Haaland and Debruyne understands eachother very well.
Manchester City has faced challenges and dropped points against teams they might have been expected to beat, But that's is popular in Premier League where a favorite team being beaten by mediocre team, and that can't be a reason to judge a team having a declining form. It's not uncommon for top teams to face difficulties and drop points in the course of a long season. I think it's just a temporary setback that is experienced by any team rather than a sign of a long-term decline.

The absence of Kevin De Bruyne undoubtedly has a significant impact on the team's performance. His return in January could indeed bring about a positive change. De Bruyne is a world-class midfielder with the ability to influence the game both defensively and offensively. His understanding with new signings, like Erling Haaland, could provide the team with the spark it needs to regain dominance. Pep Guardiola is a manager with a track record of success who has the tactical acumen to adapt to challenges and find solutions. The team's performance in the later stages of the season, especially after De Bruyne's return, might demonstrate their ability to overcome early-season struggles.
