Tottenham Hotspur's win tonight after their convincing win against Newcastle last weekend I think goes a long way to explain how good of a side they can be and their level of determination to return to the summit of the English Premier League standings. Before the their last weekend win against Newcastle, they had already gone five league games without a win in which they lost three and shared points in the rest two of the games including draw against Manchester City. During that period, a lot of their first team players were out injured as well as those that were suspended but since last weekend that Romero came back to the squad, they've been performing well especially in the defense side of the team.
After a gloomy streak, things are gradually looking up for Tottenham with two consecutive wins. Tottenham's recent struggles have been primarily due to a severely depleted squad. Many key players have been absent due to injuries and suspensions, most notably Maddison, causing Coach Postecoglou considerable difficulty in organizing the lineup and gameplay. This situation has seen some improvement in recent matches with the return of Richarlison.
With this victory, they have currently leveled their points with Manchester City, though lagging behind in goal difference and trailing the table-topping Liverpool by only 4 points. Therefore, I believe Tottenham is still in contention for the championship this year.
Arsenal is always declining once it enters into the late game, unlike the club like manchester city or liverpool which are very stable and they are to know what they are doing. Arsenal is always botting the chance to win EPL in so many seasons.
I personallly think that arsenal has no chance to win EPL. It is possible that Aston Villa will exceed the performance of all the big clubs by the end of the season. Aston villa is just getting better and better.
There's no denying that losing the championship last season was almost unacceptable for Arsenal fans, especially considering how they had outpaced the second-placed Manchester City, only to be overtaken in the final matches, losing their coveted title. However, this season is different for Arsenal. We can't simply rely on the past to predict the present.
As for Aston Villa, a team proving to be a formidable opponent for the giants this season, no one can underestimate them at this point. But when it comes to championship potential, I still believe Arsenal has a significant edge over Aston Villa in many aspects. Even if they perform well, I'm confident Arsenal could clinch the Champions League title this year. Let's wait and see.
