This is true, but considering that Aston Villa's performance so far has been very impressive, it is natural for users to speculate that Aston Villa could qualify for the Champions League next season. While I agree that sometimes people post stuff here that is of no relevance, @Weawant was correct as today is the League Cup quarterfinal and it is quite interesting because both teams are on a mission to save their season. Newcastle just got knocked out from the Champions League and I guess there is no need to talk about Chelsea. That is why I expect them to take this game more seriously than they usually would. Normally, the League Cup isn't of great importance to the big names, but when they are out of the international tournaments - or never started, like Chelsea - then these competitions gain some relevance again.

I do not think so, last games were played on Sunday, which was the 17th, the next set of games are scheduled to start playing on thursday which is the 21st of December, I just checked the premier league match fixtures to re-confirm this over and over again..

So, I am really confused as to where you got this information that Chelsea will be playing against Newcastle tonight, I can't even see this game in the timetable of games to be played from Thursday to Sunday this week, or is there really something that I am missing?

Everton really need balancing against next season because this 10 points deduction really draw them back and I am quite sure that points deduction affected their performance and reduced their expectations on the way they plan the season but with their courage and consistency they are able to get out from relegation zone which they are moving up gradually with a seven points away from relegation zone if luton town win their outstanding match against Newcastle united then it will reduce the points to four but is it possible luton town to win Newcastle united, but who knows luton town are very strong at home.

in the previous match Newcastle was able to teach Chelsea to use a big score but at that time the match was at Newcastle home which gave greater enthusiasm and great confidence and this time the match was at Chelsea home, Newcastle chances of winning were smaller and vice versa Chelsea chances of winning were bigger because after all competing at home always gives a huge sense of self confidence which will affect Chelsea performance.

Chelsea playing against Newcastle  is definitely going to be an interesting game to watch which I'm very much in anticipation, Newcastle recently have been experiencing some draw back which I think will not put them in the right frame of mind for tonight encounter against Chelsea, I will consider them both as an average team and wouldn't expect much from them.

Earlier at the beginning of the season when Newcastle was in their very good form and we're winning most of their games so well that they had series of wins consecutively, I would anticipate a win against Chelsea but then recently Chelsea has really been very inconsistent and they win certain games you will least expect and aswell loose in games you doubt they would have won aswell so I can't be sure about their performance to night because Newcastle aswell is in their weakest of form but then Chelsea could possibly win or a draw.

Urawa Reds are the fourth best team in Japanese league and they have quite bad results in their domestic league. No need to mention the superiority and competitiveness of English Premier League comparing to the other European and non European leagues but the odds @19.5 vs 1.1 for Manchester City said it all
I think we should talk about how much Manchester City will score, how much the goal difference will be and whether Urawa Reds will score or not!
I know Manchester City are having some difficulties but I assume they could pass easily this game and lift the title after beating Fluminense.

I do believe City will play with their first team since this is a competition or a title they've not won before, And besides their game is still far and about ten days from here, resting players wouldn't make much of sense, So they are gonna consider the match a serious game regardless of the team that they are facing, European elite team or not, and wouldn't want to do experiment or jeopardize with their chances of likely lifting the trophy of the competition that they haven't had the opportunity to lift before.

City doesn't have one but you will be seeing it soon. It will be an easy game for manchester city if we are seeing from the european perspective but that's japanese team. We do know that how japanese team has been so popular caused by it has a very hard work.
It seems like that another difficult match for manchester city will be coming soon. Im sure pep will be using the full squad against it. Never try to underestimate your opponent. This has become a common knowledge in the football.

I have no information regarding the performance from that japanese team but urawa was not performing so well in J1 as it was out of top 3. Im thinking city will beat it easily without any problem.

Today Manchester City will be playing in the FIFA Club World Cup against Urawa Reds from Japan and yes, I am curious whether Manchester City will be playing their main squad or just playing their second tier players. But, if I consider Mancester City's schedule, then it doesn't seem right if Manchester City only plays second-tier players because after all, Manchester City will also return to playing in the Premier League on the 29th against Everton.

I won't really blame Liverpool for the match result against United. Yes, the share of point isn't needed at this time but it just have to be made up for. Ten Hag has some work to do on United's performance because his efforts are just unproductive. The team is suffering a huge range of backslides and it's got to be fixed because situations may definitely get worse.
