Yesterday was a lucky day for the Red devils for them to win Wolves in the match, because wolves put in an impressive performance but they couldn't break the deadlock as Onana put a stop to their goals. Wolves wasn't lucky enough that was why they couldn't draw the match.

I wouldn't say that Manchester United performed brilliantly because I was expecting to see them score more goals than just one but to my greatest surprise, they didn't play like those that wants to score more goals. Manchester United needs a good striking force so that scoring goals wouldn't be a problem. I see a very strong defence that Eric Hag has built.
I watched the game and I was disappointed with the red devils performance and five players that underperformed were Mount, Fernandez, Garnacho, Antony and Rashford. Many times Mount was going out of position, making the midfield porous and over labouring Casemiro. Fernandez also had a bad day, it was when Erickson game on that I saw a little of his magic as he was part of the build up that led to the goal. Garnacho flopped completely, he couldn't execute one take on, loses the ball everytime he gets it.

Onana did very well to keep United in the game, AWB was also fantastic with his runs, blocks and slides and also assisted in setting up the goal. United were just lucky to win the game, they really need to improve their performance in their next game.

I did not watch the match but looking at the player's statistic, Fernandez got not that bad score compared to Antony, Garnacho and Mount.
Yes Antony, Mount and Garnacho seems to be not in their best form in the first match but I think it is still reasonable enough since it is not always easy to show the best in the first match.
Thumbs up to the new GK Onana, he did some crucial saves and make a clean sheet in the first match.
They need more times to create a great teamwork and play in real matches in the league so lets give them more opportunities to show their best.

Both Chelsea and Liverpool played good football in the first match of the season. But what happens is that Chelsea and Liverpool knows how to play draw in every of their meeting. So both of them playing together would not be the right criteria to determine whether the teams have improved. I can attest that Liverpool has improved right from the ending time of last season.
But there is no evidence of improvement in Chelsea apart from the pre-season. So we will need to see Liverpool play another club and Chelsea play another club for we to know if they have really improved.

The distance will certainly show who is worth what, but I am not impressed with the game of Liverpool beforehand. Despite the fact that the newcomers in the person of Soboslai and Mac Allister showed themselves well, Liverpool had only 35% of ball possession. Even if the newcomers continue to play well, I would not say that Liverpool have improved - this is only a compensation for those players who left. If other clubs at least have not weakened, then the status quo of last season will be maintained. As for Chelsea, I can’t say anything about them yet because I got confused in the kaleidoscope of their players.

Although Manchester United managed to secure victory in the first match. Then I would think that he could not perform much better than the opposition team. Comparatively, both the teams played almost equally. Manchester United need to perform better.

It must be draw. The VAR and referee were doing human error but not given wolves penalty during additional time. look at this

The match officials who failed to award Wolves a stoppage-time penalty at Manchester United on Monday have been punished by not being selected for Premier League games this weekend.

It comes after Howard Webb, the referees’ chief, apologised to Wolves in the wake of the error at Old Trafford. The referee Simon Hooper, VAR Michael Salisbury and assistant VAR Richard West will not officiate any games this weekend.

The fact that if MU helped by referee. It's not a fair result as it might be drawn. Wolves deserve penalty at the end of second half. I don't even understand why this error is still happening. Howard webb must be kicked out from EPL.
This guy keeps repeat the same mistke over and over since a long time ago. He is not capable anymore of being a referee in EPL. This guy shall be terminated from his job. he just makes wolves got disadvantage by loosing three points.
The fact still remains that Howard Webb is a United supporter and it can be found in previous games involving Manchester united he has officiated as central referee else how come would he be reiterating similar mistakes except he's just incompetent to be classified as a professional referee. The foul from Onana against the wolves player was very obvious for all to see but it was rather giving blind sight. Howard Webb neutrality in previous games and that of yesterday between Manchester united vs Wolves should be in question for the love of football.

3 points were secured by Manchester United but I feel that their performance in this match was underrated and even if you look at the comparison of Wolves with all their internal problems I still feel that yesterday's match Wolves were much better in terms of attack because Manchester United looked like they were confused in this regard. They weren't very cohesive and their attacks were wasted.
It's lucky that Varane managed to be the difference in this match because if it ends up being a draw then I think it's a failure for Manchester United.
Ten Hag must try more in this regard so that their squad in the next match is better than the first week that is completely over.

Coming into the fixture yesterday, Wolves were clearly the underdog and underrated by everyone (including myself) but they surprised us all and were unlucky not to win. There was no chemistry in the man utd team. Rashford was frustrated because Garnacho couldn't work with bruno and mount to supply balls to him. But this is where Ramus Hojlund will help Rashford in that regard. I'm sure if Sancho started ahead of Garnacho, the game would have had a different tempo.

League still early, all teams still have a lot to improve.

But it must also be remembered that this is the first match, so we can draw any conclusions about what will happen to them in the next matches.
You mean we "cannot" draw conclusion? Well you are correct if that's the case. It's just that I expect their opponents to exploit their current weakness as displayed in game 1. They will be facing a better team in Spurs soon so we'll see how their defense will hold up. I personally doubt Onana will have a clean sheet.
Being a first game of the season we can not agree though but technically speaking Manchester united played as an average team playing against a stronger opponent, the only shot on target they had was that which brought about their winning goal (a header), supposing wolves had made good use of their attempts converting those multiple chances to 2 or more goals I don't think anyone would be here saying we shouldn't conclude yet about Manchester united performance being poor, cause obviously they performed poorly and if their lapses ain't quickly covered within the midfield then UTD may be heading for a bad season .

25 minutes in but both clubs are still holding their own as the ball is mostly in the middle but I'm expecting something more now for Manchester United because looking at their current opponents of course this should be 3 points for them in the opening match.

So far I haven't found Manchester United really capable of threatening the Wolves defense. Manchester United had more possession than Wolves, but they didn't create many chances until 45 first half minutes. I think both teams will very likely end the first half goalless, and that is a very objective result given their game.

Wolves defend well with their 4 defenders. They are still quite disciplined in guarding their defense area well, but they can also carry out very dangerous counterattacks.

It's not surprising, but from the few games that have happened, Wolves can always make big teams difficult. They are not new debutants. In addition, it is interesting that small or large EPL teams can always make it difficult for the opponents they face. No strength gap is too big for each team. From that match there were indeed some crucial moments that should have given the advantage and the referee's decision was different. EPL competitions are long, judging from the first game is not an exact measure and that's hard to accept.

Exactly, I agree with what you said! Wolves has often managed to put the top clubs in the premier league in difficulty and it is not new to this undertaking, but we must add that over the last few years almost all the small clubs in the EPL have narrowed the technical gap with the top clubs. and in fact the EPL has become the most balanced and toughest tournament in the world. going back to the result of Man UTD - Wolves I think the result is a lie, wolves didn't deserve the defeat and the referee's choices are very questionable, in fact it seems he was punished with a stoppage

Two different images are visible, the top one is Caicedo while still at Ecuador in 2021 with his mother and the bottom one is now when he was announced as Chelsea's newest player. Dreams are real and Caicedo is one of the players who has made his dream of playing for the club he loves so much come true. After going through a fairly long process with Brighton plus competition with Liverpool to bring him, he became Chelsea's most expensive current signing at £115 million. He is a great defensive midfielder and has been the talk of the town lately and joining Chelsea was the right choice for him. He is ready to make history with his dream team which is currently in transition with new players and also a new coach in it. Looks like we'll see his debut later when Chelsea against West Ham.
Caicedo is good but I think he is overpriced, a player with little experience and already bears a 115million euros tag is just shocking. I really hope he delivers as much as his price tag bears cause it will be disappointing if he flops at Chelsea or have to sit on the bench too often because Chelsea has a record of killing good players who in their prime moved to Stamford Bridge and couldn’t live up to expectations.
With other parties wanting Caicedo, Brighton actually have many options and of course the most expensive one they will take as a form of agreement.
Regardless of whether it is too expensive or not seeing the performance displayed last season is actually comparable, it's just that for now whether it will be the same as before in the new team will certainly be a big question.

Now we will only see how Caicedo performs at Chelsea this season whether his price is ultimately in accordance with the performance shown or even his performance does not show significant results.

Chelsea and Liverpool have been playing draws for a long time, and their first meeting of the season confirmed it once more. Liverpool significantly improved at the end of last season, while Chelsea also improved in preseason games. However, based on their overall performance following that game, I believe Chelsea outperformed them. But, as you mentioned, we'll have to wait and see how they play against other teams because theirs always ends in a tie before we can determine who is more powerful and improved this season. Nevertheless, one match can't prove that; we must wait for them to play 3-5 matches before we can say anything about them.

Chelsea and Liverpool have changed a lot this season, with the entry and exit of players making the first game a bit needing adaptation in the league, and a draw in the first game is a fair result for both teams, maybe with the next few matches we will see that the two teams will be more solid and shows the true quality of this team, and I believe in the second meeting in the league there will be a winner and judging from the first game I see Liverpool will be slightly above Chelsea at the end of the season

The first games are always tricky and it is difficult to know how stable the teams are. With new players requiring time to adapt to the team and to the strategy used, things gonna improve later.
Liverpool will face Bournemouth in the next round so a victory should occur or else it will be a bad start for them. Chelsea will face West Ham which isn't that easy so they will have to show their best to win.
Tottenham Hotspur - Manchester United and Manchester City - Newcastle are the best matches this weekend.
Every team in the Premier League is a very tough opponent against each other. No match is ever easy for a Premier League side. Good things can only be achieved by performing the best against the best. Every Premier League team has already completed one match. Every team has performed their best in Premier League first match against each team where some team has success and some team has not success in first match. Every team is once again preparing for their next match, the teams that did well in the first match are planning how to do better in the next matches and the teams that did not perform as expected in the first match are finding their mistakes and trying to improve in the next match. If every Premier League match is more exciting, we will enjoy watching the game more than expected.

Do you still doubt Manchester united that they will not finish this season well, because I have seen some new positive changes among their young talented players that helped the team to secured 3 points from the game to stand among the strong teams in this season. Despite they didn't use all their squads to play the first game but they refused to allow the game to end up draw like Chelsea and Liverpool that drew their first game 1:1, which is a big worry to their coach to use this opportunity to still bring more players that can join them to achieve their goal in this tournament. I guess, there is a big hope for Manchester united to reject that top four in the premier league season, because their coach is a record breaker, and he will surely make fans jubilate in this season.

Liverpool should have pondered himself and changed their strategy, what they did was too old for the progress of the English Premier League, even though the result of this match was a draw.
At the start of the season, at least the results weren't too bad for Liverpool to draw with Chelsea and have to share points, at least Liverpool didn't lose points at the start of the first EPL season yesterday, because of course it would be very disappointing if the result was Liverpool losing to Chelsea, which is considered a bad club in last season, I also saw that since Pochettino coached at Chelsea they looked better.

I know Liverpool main squad should be far superior to Chelsea, but that doesn't mean Chelsea can be easily beaten, it seems they also want to rise from a nightmare and downturn last season, because that's what made the meeting a draw, I think Liverpool really have to change strategy and overhaul their squad so that in the second EPL match later they can get full points.
Yes, I think Liverpool didn't perform too badly and they even managed to bring home a point. This season Klopp has rejuvenated his squad and it is an update that should be appreciated. While Chelsea have also appeared with a new face this season, Pochettino's arrival has certainly lifted the team's degree from last season's slump. I believe this season the Blues will again be able to compete in the Premier League even though it is quite difficult to dominate the top.
Indeed it is not too bad to share points with Chelsea and again this is still very early to say it about Liverpool but that does not mean that you sit casually, what I worry about is that Liverpool have the same fate as Chelsea last season.
Furthermore, Liverpool against Bournemouth, they should have evaluated and got full points in the next match.

From what Chelsea showed in his first match this season it was like showing his fighting spirit back to rise, but would it last a long time?, There are still many homeworks that Pochettino must do in many lines to finalize their strategy, they have not found players who It can be relied on to be the foundation of the strategy, or whether I have not been able to read what is in his mind Pochetteino for his players today. Huh

As you just mentioned it is difficult to know where the teams are heading so early in the season and that is why I think that the most interesting game of the upcoming weekend is Manchester City vs Newcastle United. Obviously, Manchester City had a comfortable win as expected, but many eyes were watching Newcastle and they won destroyed Aston Villa, which could be a first sign that Newcastle will once again be in it for the top 3 or top 4 of the table. Now how are they going to play in an away game against Manchester City? It is impossible for me to come up with an educated guess, I have no idea whether the 5-1 can be considered as a good reason to think that they will do well against Manchester City, too. It doesn't have to be a win against them, but a draw or a very close match that does not end 3-0 for Manchester City would still be a respectable result.

It is difficult to perform well in the first matches. Moreover, even if they do not play well in the first match, there is a possibility of correcting their mistakes and performing well in the next matches. But if the goal is the title, then it is important to perform well from the first match. Otherwise, in a competitive league like the Premier League, the title race will be left behind.

Liverpool will face Bournemouth in the next round so a victory should occur or else it will be a bad start for them.

Liverpool did not win the first match. Liverpool will play a home match against Bournemouth. The chances of Liverpool losing points in this match are very low. Because Bournemouth is not a strong team. However, the Liverpool team must perform carefully. Because, Bournemouth managed to share points with West Ham in their last match. They will try the same with Liverpool.

Quote
Chelsea will face West Ham which isn't that easy so they will have to show their best to win.

Chelsea played well in the first match, but could not get 3 points. It is not certain whether Chelsea will win against West Ham. West Ham is a strong enough team. Even so, I would consider Chelsea favorites in this match. My guess is Chelsea will win the match 2-1.

Manchester City - Newcastle are the best matches this weekend.

The best team in the Premier League is Manchester City. However, the progress the Newcastle team has been making lately is admirable. The team won 5-1 against Aston Villa. This shows that their attack is strong. I am looking forward to see what match strategy Guardiola uses in this match.
