Since Arsenal's squad standard is inferior to that of Manchester City's, despite the fact that Arsenal recruited several new players to the team, I didn't anticipate that they would be able to win the Community Shield today. In fact, I am relieved that they did. De Bruyne wasn't given the opportunity to start because, in my opinion, Guardiola underrated Arsenal. I think if Guardiola had combined these two players together after adding De-Bruyne and taking out Haaland, they would have won the game with ease. I won't hold it against him much, though; there could be a reason he doesn't use them together.

I don't even expect Arteta to use Kai Havertz to top strike because he doesn't have the ability to play that position as well as Nketiah or Trossard. Since I witnessed Kai Havertz's weak striking performances in Chelsea. But maybe he is performing better on the training ground, which is why Arteta is still giving him that much opportunity. Seriously, Kai Havertz performed poorly in that striking position today. I also don't expect  him to stay in the game for a long time today; he was expected to sub in the first half.

If you look at how they performed in a number of pre-season matches this was indeed quite satisfying. Their performance may not be as brilliant as other big clubs in the EPL, especially to compete with top-class clubs. However, their performance has progressed quite well, at least the consistency of their performance, the application of tactics by their coaches is quite good on the field. Their consistency, especially on the field these few matches have been enough to prove that they can indeed be stronger this season compared to the previous season. It's just a matter of how Eddie Howe sharpens and strengthens his squad through tactics that suit them perfectly.

Arteta had an amazing performance and they were playing Manchester City today while due to the recent games from Manchester City we were expecting to see Pep Guardiola and his players winning this match but in this game, both teams had a close performance with each other and the game finished with a 1-1 result but in the penalty kicks Arsenal won the game and Fa Community Shield,
We can now wait for the next season and see an amazing performance from Arteta and his payer and they have the same performance in the next season.

The UCL was city's ultimate prize and since winning it, I feel like they won't be able to reach that level of performance and they've lost the services of some of their veteran players in the transfer window so there's an obvious drop in quality of the squad. Manchester city are just not lucky with community shield games in recent times. Good thing City didn't make it easy for Arsenal - making them grind hard for the cup. After watching the game, it gladdens me that the PL is finally kicking off. Being a while.

I often talk about how exceptional De Bruyne's assists are at Manchester City. Who would have thought that when he was substituted in the 77th minute, he would do something truly remarkable? Even though Haaland had been on the field for 10 minutes before De Bruyne's entrance, Guardiola noticed that nothing significant changed. However, once De Bruyne stepped in, he made Arsenal concede with an incredible assist. Currently, among English teams, he stands out as one of the most prolific players in terms of assists. On the contrary, Arsenal performed exceptionally well, and their display today is convincing, they may be on the right track to winning the Premier League this season. Their ability to seamlessly combine defensive and offensive tactics is something that few players can achieve, when Guardiola noticed the effectiveness of their strategy, he made the great decision to substitute Haaland. The success of Newcastle United back in the Champions League has proven its best quality to compete more strongly this season. Additionally, I expect Arsenal manager Mickel Arteta to bring on Nketiah and Trossard on time due to some errors Hervertz made in the first half of the game, and the substitution of Timber was another decision that Arsenal fans were unhappy with because that was the position Manchester City used to score Arsenal after he was substituted. Saka needs a competitor, a player of his calibre, but for the time being, they have Nelson to back him up, even though they are not in the same class in terms of performance on the pitch.

Before the kickoff of the Community Shield match between Arsenal and Manchester City, many had predicted that Manchester City are gonna humiliate the North London club because of the better quality of players at Man City.
But I was of the opinion that though Manchester City squad is visibly better than Arsenal, Arsenal might still shock City and win the cup and just like I predicted the game, Arsenal won.

Sincerely speaking,  Newcastle has put in place some commendable forces that can possibly place the club in a better position in the coming season even though Newcastle's performance was also good but not very ok most especially in the champions league to the signing of new players into the club will be a great boost for the club against the next season and Newcastle will have a fun season this 2023-2024 season.

More also some of the clubs in the same category as Newcastle like Chelsea,  Arsenal and Liverpool are all taking similar steps to better their lots in the next season considering the average performance in the last season.

You will have too many cases like this in coming season due to rule change, hopefully now you will be ready for the time like this and shocking results like this as well.

Arsenal is the second team to win most this trophy and comes after Manchester United. These are the biggest clubs in England. It's ridiculous that other club supporters try to downplay this trophy. Every trophy won in England has value and only big clubs can win trophies. Manchester City has been very weak in this area, for some reason, they can't win this trophy lately despite their Premier League performance.
After all, it was a cup game and it meant nothing to the league. Teams play differently in the league. The motivation to win a trophy here is different. I think whoever wants more wins. Let's see if anyone who wants more can win in the league. The league is a long marathon.

So far the improvement in the squad reshuffle carried out by Eddie Howe provides a sign that Newcastle United will be able to compete more strongly next season either in the Premier League or in the Champions League. The addition extra time that was given was 8 minutes, so after spending like 5 minutes out of the 8 minutes additional time that was given, their was a collision between Manchester City player and Arsenal player which they wasted fee minutes of their time, i think the time wasted was added to the 8 minutes and that was why the referee didn’t blow the final whistle early, if they didn’t waste that time, am sure he will have blown the whistle early and the goal scored by Arsenal won’t have happen.

Trosard was Arsenal's savior with his 90+11 goal in this match.
It was a decent game but I didn't expect this as I felt Manchester City could have been much better than this.
But still Arsenal got the Community Shield and of course we must congratulate Arsenal for their victory and hopefully this will be a morale booster for Arsenal in the hunt for the season which will take place in a few days.

On the other hand, this defeat makes Manchester City even further away from the Community Shield. 3 times they were here in 3 consecutive years and 3 times they also had to accept defeat.

It wasn’t confusing, it was required considering the amount of stop and play involved in the game. There was a long break involving a head to head collision between Partey and Walker which wasted lots of time. And even at that we were told that they are going to be changes in the time added in the matches due to long talks, delayed time by winning team, balls kicked out (part of the reason why Alvarez was booked during first half for kicking the ball away) and also the time wasted on celebrations. I am sure that was the all testrone done today. But still English refs are still awful in terms of decision making.


Yes Arteta formation and tactics were bad today, firstly Timber was excellent but struggled to use his left foot from the left side properly, since Zincheko is available then Timber should start as a Center back and Zinchenko at the left. Then that settles the back four. Although Ramsadale saved a penalty today I still feel arsenal needs another goal keeper and Raya will be a good upgrade. The midfield picks it self today because I love the three players there, they complement each other. As for attack Nketiah should be ahead of Havertz and Trossard needs more time on the left wing. While Saka also needs a competition

Great game today between Man City and Arsenal. Both teams played real solid football. Despite not being a fan, I'm actually happy for Areteta and his team for the work they have been doing for years now. It's beginning to bear fruit despite their shortcomings last season. This win means more than just thr trophy. It just means Arsenal is going to compete actively for the EPL trophy this season. The years of man city being the only dominant team might have ended.

It's going to be a darned good season.

Manchester city has never always been a scare to Arsenal for as long as I can remember. The team I think is more scary to Arsenal among the two Manchesters, is Manchester United.  
Arsenal just lacked the grit last season because sincerely they weren't expecting to go that far with the kind of players who were still not experienced enough to handle the pressure till the end of a season.

Today's game was simply awesome and both teams actually showed us that they deserved to be on top the table. Impressive display from Havert and Saka and am hoping to see more improvement from Saka in subsequent games. It would have almost ended like the champions league final against Inter Milan which ended 1nil in favour of Manchester city, but well am glad over the outcome.
At least Arsenal got a compensation trophy for a good finish.

I don't understand why 11 minutes was added... Some strange match... City should have won, but on 101 minutes Arsenal scored a goal... For me there is a lot of confusion in this game... Arsenal of course also played well, but somehow strange they scored a goal in 11 extra minutes...

I checked the match statistics, sure enough that Manchester City dominated this match well, but in the end luck was not their thing in the last minutes. Leandro Trossard, who entered in the second half, managed to score a goal even though his shot did not go straight to the goal which was escorted by Stefan Ortega. The Manchester City defenders failed to anticipate the shot which in the end in to Stefan Ortega's goal and he was fooled.

Arsenal deserved the title they won regardless of how they tried. Arsenal tried until the last second and they were really ready to win the title when they faced penalty shoot-out. Pep Guardiola deservedly be disappointed for the day's failure, but maybe that's the end of it.

The two players that had a head clash during a corner against Man City were the ones that led to the game pause. From my understanding, Arsenal used that little break to have more energy to withstand Man city pressure and unlucky for City Akanji leg deflected the ball into the goal post. Arsenal has really improved in their game because I never expected such brilliant performance from them. Arteta and his team will have a fantastic surprise for their fans this season. Pep should have see this coming because history repeated itself again. In community shield Arsenal is always king over Man City.
