Yeah Liverpool had a good start with the season but like they say, "it's not the beginning that really matters but the end that does", and this is just where Liverpool are about to find themselves in this race if they don't get back to winning ways quickly they might have a bad end of a season after a long winning run in the start.
Is one defeat a benchmark to judge Liverpool this season? Of course not. We only lost 1-0 and there is still a match where Leg 2 has the opportunity to turn things around. Tottenham were just lucky because if they could dominate the match, the first half should have given a surprise. The Reds can still catch up even though they have to play at Spurs home, I'm sure the aggregate will be chased by Arne Slot in the next meeting. Spurs are a little closer to the EFL Cup trophy but do you still believe they can win it? Grin In the Premier League, Tottenham performance has been getting worse and they are not really a promising club.  Roll Eyes

Graham Potter is appointed West Ham's new manager on two-and-a-half year deal... as the Hammers land their No 1 target after sacking Julen Lopetegui

West Ham United have announced Graham Potter as their new manager, with the English boss agreeing a two-and-a-half year deal at the London Stadium.

The former Brighton and Chelsea boss takes over from Julen Lopetegui, who was sacked by the Hammers on Wednesday after overseeing an underwhelming 20 Premier League games in charge.

Lopetegui was still holding on for a long time and after the game West Ham were showing, Lopetegui could have been sacked a long time ago, right after the 5-0 defeat to Liverpool and not waiting for another defeat to Manchester City. Apparently West Ham bosses did not want to pay compensation of 3 million, but the damage from Lopetegui's further work outweighed the damage from Lopetegui's penalty.

Potter is not a bad coach, but whether he will suit West Ham is unclear, because West Ham plays quite simple and aggressive game and Potter tries to make sure that the team had a creative players and prefer complicated play.

A fight shown by United and beyond my expectations actually. Facing a team that is at the top of the standings but they were able to hold Liverpool to a draw with their 2 goals. Not a bad result considering what Amorim has achieved so far.
The result should motivate and strengthen the mentality of United players for the next match. Facing Arsenal in the FA Cup, and several matches that they must maximize in the Premier League. United also still has to fight in the Europa League, Amorim has a lot of work to maintain the consistency of his team's games with some news of their players who are ready to leave United.
The success of holding Liverpool at Anfield must really be able to motivate United players to immediately rise in the next matches. In addition, Amorim must also be able to convince the Red Devils owner to add some new ammunition in this transfer window. I am sure Manchester United will rise again and achieve the target to be in the top competition of the standings at least they must be able to finish in the Europa League zone.

If Amorim manages to get good new players to join the team, that's great. Hopefully, it can have a positive impact on United's game and development. It's just that advancing to the position to qualify for the Europa League next season seems too difficult.
This season, not only United is seen to be experiencing a difficult situation. Tottenham and Man City are also experiencing problems with declining performance, like United.

Tottenham 1-0 Liverpool

Has Liverpool lost a truck like Manchester City? Liverpool did not play well in the last two matches. Manchester United was not in good form. Even then, Liverpool failed to win the Premier League home match. The match was drawn 2-2.

The semi-final of the EFL Cup was quite important for Liverpool. The opponent was Tottenham, a renowned team. This is true. However, in the last few matches, we have seen Tottenham's weak and irregular performance. I expected Liverpool to win this match. However, Tottenham won the match by a margin of 1-0. Liverpool's players played well. They created many attacking opportunities. But the attacking players completely failed to break Tottenham's defense. As a result, despite 7 on target shots, Liverpool's players could not score a single goal.
The results were beyond our predictions. because I also hope Liverpool can get lots of trophies this season. And I also want to see Liverpool succeed in the EFL this season, just like last season. But yeah, this season it seems Liverpool also has more important priorities, namely the UCL and the Premier League. So, in my opinion, losing in this match is not a big problem. And it also doesn't mean that this team is starting to lose its performance. because I am sure that in the UCL and in the Premier League Liverpool will continue to play better. Hopefully what happened to Man City does not happen to Liverpool.

I think it's even more about Liverpool dropping points against Nottingham Forest again next week Tuesday when they travel to Nottingham Forest stadium. Even at home they found it difficult to break Manchester United, I expect a tough game for Liverpool,  mind you, they lost the first fixture earlier this season against Nottingham Forest do not forget in a rush..... Arsenal will be against their london rivals who doesn't get along together  ( Tottenham Hotspur  ) and they will definitely maintain the second spot because I'm certain they'll get all three points against Tottenham Hotspur. The one game left to play as well would be against their rivals Everton,  they won't get it easy during that fixture.
Nottingham are the only team that managed to beat Liverpool this season, it would be good for the intrigue in the Premier League if they did it again. I think it is quite possible, although initially few took them seriously, they were able to prove that they are capable of beating their opponents and if they beat Liverpool the difference between them will be only 3 points. But on the other hand, Liverpool are strong enough to beat any team, so the match should be exciting.
I was among the many that didn't take Nottingham Forest seriously. When Nottingham Forest won Liverpool at Anfield, I thought they wouldn't maintain their good performance up till this time, but I was surprised to see that Nottingham Forest is still in the Premier League top four, and with the way they are playing in the Premier League, it will be difficult for them to lose their current position in the Premier League table. Even though Nottingham Forest won against Liverpool in their first meeting this season, I think Nottingham Forest wouldn't beat Liverpool again when they play for the second time because Liverpool will not allow that to happen since they lost to Nottingham Forest in their first meeting this season. When Liverpool plays Nottingham Forest for the second time this season, they will want to beat Nottingham Forest back and get revenge.

Yeah Liverpool had a good start with the season but like they say, "it's not the beginning that really matters but the end that does", and this is just where Liverpool are about to find themselves in this race if they don't get back to winning ways quickly they might have a bad end of a season after a long winning run in the start. Probably could be fatigue that's starting to affect some of the players thereby  making their performance underwhelming or something else I don't know but that's Arne Slot job to figure out. Making sure Liverpool win the second leg when they meet Newcastle in the EPL as it's going to be epic seeing Tottenham Hotspur in the EPL final and winning the trophy at last.
Liverpool's defeat on the EFL stage certainly did not surprise many because sometimes the EFL Cup is not a priority for some teams because there are other things that may be more important. I see Liverpool preferring to focus on the Premier League competition because they are currently several points ahead of their competitors. However, even so, Arne Slot must also seriously review the statistics in his last two matches because if there is a problem that may not be fixed immediately, it will greatly affect the next match.
Not so, basically Liverpool's performance has declined in the last 2 matches we can see and this is not a matter of priority or not but basically all teams want to win all matches.
However, this is not too much for the defeat experienced by Liverpool and what happened is commonplace for a football team and I am still very optimistic about Arne Slot to be able to maintain the rhythm of the Liverpool team's game throughout this season.

The former Brighton and Chelsea boss takes over from Julen Lopetegui, who was sacked by the Hammers on Wednesday after overseeing an underwhelming 20 Premier League games in charge.

The Spaniard, who will be paid just over £3million in compensation by the Hammers due to a clause in his contract, was relieved of his duties following a poor run of form which culminated in a 4-1 defeat by Manchester City last Saturday.

The disappointing loss at the Etihad followed West Ham's 5-0 drubbing at the hands of league leaders Liverpool six days earlier, with both results leaving the Hammers in 14th position in the Premier League table.

West Ham's previous performances were poor, and the manager is to blame, they had good players but were unable to win games. West Ham conceded 9 goals in their last two games, including 4 against Manchester City and 5 against Liverpool. The club is presently ranked 14th in the league, having earned 23 points in 20 league games. Perhaps they sell some of their players at the end of last season since the midfield does not appear to be as powerful as it was the previous season.

However, it is unbelievable that West Ham hired Graham Potter, who was a failure at Chelsea, after seeing the manager's inability to improve Chelsea. West Ham's management appointed Potter to a two and a half year contract, which I believe is quite long for him because the manager has never achieved anything in his management career. West Ham is currently at the bottom of the league with -15 goals; perhaps he can help the team avoid relegation, but I wish him all the best.

Has Liverpool lost a truck like Manchester City? Liverpool did not play well in the last two matches. Manchester United was not in good form. Even then, Liverpool failed to win the Premier League home match. The match was drawn 2-2.

Liverpool has started already from Manchester United to Tottenham Hotspur and Accrington Stanley will be there next, however I believe I have not gone out of analysis if I say Liverpool will not win the EFL CUP because already they have lost the seating of the semi finals so they have one match remaining and definitely they would possibly loss again and this also goes to Arsenal because Newcastle United also won then 2:0, so this makes Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United the main rider of the cup for now until the last chance of Liverpool and Arsenal is crumbled.
You shouldn't run into conclusions on which club will be in the finals. Liverpool is still hopeful than Arsenal, because Tottenham only scored one goal. If Liverpool can win with two goals ahead, they will definitely be in the finals because Tottenham is not consistent. Arsenal might not qualify to the finals, because they need three goals to be in the finals and Newcastle is consistent in their matches.

I am likewise thinking in same direction as you about Liverpool's roller coaster campaign seeming like getting to the end of its way similar to that of Manchester city because for a team that's said to be in one of their best form for the season it was expected that they wouldn't find much difficulty in beating Manchester United but they simply had to settle for a draw in that game. And now to the EFL, Tottenham, a team that have been so inconsistent this season and fair to say beneath Liverpool but still managed to beat the Reds 1 nil.
Since the beginning of this season, we have seen Liverpool playing well. Liverpool is dominating the Premier League and Champions League. But in the last two matches, we have not seen a better performance from Liverpool. However, I hope the Liverpool coach will be careful. Liverpool will not face the same problems as Manchester City. Liverpool lost the first leg of the EFL Cup match. Liverpool still has a chance to qualify for the final by winning the second leg match.

Manchester City performance has suddenly gotten much worse which is surprising because they started season well. They were doing as well as Tottenham and Liverpool at beginning. Losing to Tottenham is not big deal but losing five games in a row is problem. It is not clear if Manchester City coach can make team play better in second half of season. At same time Liverpool is playing very well with all their players doing great job. Even though they lost the first game, Liverpool is still a strong team and has good chance of doing well in Premier League.
All that has changed in City's game is that they are finally starting to score, which is something they have been lacking in the past few games. They were creating chances but they couldn't score, now it seems like they are starting to look like their old selves. But they also need to take their defence more seriously, because in the games where they have been bad in attack, that could have helped them. Now they have a few more games against weak opponents, that should be enough for them to rest and continue winning.

This is how teams start getting bad in their performance, Liverpool ending their match in draw with manchester United wasn't good, we are talking about a team that's mainly the outstanding among all the EPL team presently that we can say they may be crowned the league title at the end of the season but with the few matches they have had so far I think something is actually wrong which needed to be rectified very fast to avoid reocurence, in the two recent match of Liverpool I  lost some bets though no worries but the major thing is that Liverpool really need to up their games, there encounter with Tottenham in the EFL Cup, they made attempt to score goal, yea tere was about 7shots on goal in there favour but that's not really the issue, converting those opportunities to goal is where the problem lies and it wasn't possible for them in that match.
Liverpool finally felt what defeat is, but hey this is only Leg 1 and there is still 1 more match that Tottenham cannot be proud of. A 1 goal difference is not difficult if Liverpool plays better in Leg 2. This match also took a victim because I was sad to see Bentancur suddenly fall. All the players were shocked because there was no contact with anyone when Bentancur headed the ball. Luckily, this is only the first leg, so Liverpool still has a big chance of turning things around in the second leg. I also don't understand that in this league cup semi-final match, the teams that were highly favored actually lost. For example, Arsenal also lost to Newcastle in the first leg. So whether this is a coincidence or Liverpool and Arsenal are currently experiencing a decline in performance. But the point is we cannot conclude that Liverpool or Arsenal will fail to reach the final round at this time. Because the match is not over yet, therefore I really can't wait to see the second leg match in the semi-finals of this league cup.

I thought I would watch the Arsenal vs Liverpool final. If these two teams met in the final, the match would have been more competitive and exciting. But Arsenal lost 2-0 to Newcastle in the first leg and Liverpool lost 1-0 to Tottenham.

However, both Arsenal and Liverpool have a great chance to make a comeback. However, it is a bit difficult. Because Tottenham won the first leg, Tottenham will naturally play a completely defensive strategy in the second leg. As a result, it will be more difficult for Liverpool players to break Tottenham's defense. At the same time, Newcastle is also in very good form now. It is also unlikely that Arsenal will win 3-0 in the second leg.

Honestly, Arsenal against Liverpool  that is what most people were thinking before their first-leg game. But as both Arsenal and Liverpool have lost the first leg, let's see what will happen in the second leg of the competition.

I still have hope for Liverpool to reach the final. They may win the second leg, as the game will take place at Anfield. Liverpool still has some chances to qualify for the final. However, as for Arsenal, I can't say for sure. Maybe Arsenal will be lucky to qualify for the final. Newcastle are in form currently, and even when they are not, it’s not always easy for Arsenal to beat them by many goals. It would only be luck that could make Arsenal qualify for the final.

As for me, I have lost hope in Arsenal qualifying for the final. I don't think they have the squad they need to beat Newcastle, especially with Saka currently absent from the squad. Newcastle are also really strong defensively.

Hats off for Forest. They overachieved this season. They will really surprise me if they can qualify for the Champion League. They're equal to the Arsenal, and better than Chelsea or Manchester City.

I'm feeling Forest is gonna win PL, then continue with UCL, and hibernate for several decades. That's unbelievable how they reach 40 magical points just to secure their positions from relegation zone and get additional bonus for UCL spot. Amazing!  Cheesy Cheesy

I am also amazed by Nottingham forest and it is indeed unexpected that Nottingham forest will achieve a good ranking but we do not know whether Nottingham forest will be able to consistently win or not but what is clear is that now Nottingham forest is superior to Chelsea and Man city. if for example Nottingham forest gets a ticket to the Champions League then surely many people will be surprised but surely now when compared to last season and now Nottingham forest is like earth and sky in its performance because now its performance is really impressive.

I also have the same opinion as you that Nottingham forest will potentially be able to play in the UCL next season but if they become EPL champions I think it will certainly be difficult because surely Arsenal and Liverpool will not allow Nottingham forest to be able to shift their position. yes if for example Nottingham forest gets a ticket to the UCL then surely this is an extraordinary achievement for Nottingham forest even if for example they do not become EPL champions.

Potter told the club website: 'I am delighted to be here. It was important to me that I waited until a job came along that I felt was right for me, and equally that I was the right fit for the Club I am joining. That is the feeling I have with West Ham United.

I don't really have issues witg West Ham signing Graham Potter to take over Julen Lopetegui but the question is will he be the man to take the Hammers out of their dilapidated state? Because if you ask me, David Moyes was about the best coach the club has ever had in my opinion as he always manages to take them to European competitions no matter what difficulty they've been experiencing  in the Premier league but they just had to sack the man simply because they don't like his style of play? Really?
I guess Julen Lopetegui has shown them a better form of playing that's why West Ham are 14th on the table with 6 points safe from the drop zone.
Graham Potter will sure have his job cut out for him as he will have to not only boost back the players' morale but also move them back up. He wasn't successful at Chelsea, maybe he'd be able to push them like he did at Brighton.

At the start of the season, Manchester City started well, keeping up with Tottenham and Liverpool. I don't know what is happening to Manchester City. Falling into a slump, losing to Tottenham is a normal thing to happen, not a reason for City's performance to decline. Moreover, Manchester City has lost 5 times in a row, which is still a sign.
Ask whether the City coach will not be able to recover in the second leg. Liverpool are now on fire, all the players are in good condition, losing in the first leg doesn't make Liverpool worse, there is still a chance for them to find a safe position in the Premier League.

I personally previously hoped that the two teams would meet in the final, but on the other hand I think their chances to still meet in the final are also still open, Liverpool was defeated by Tottenham with a narrow score, so it is likely that they can make a comeback in the second leg later, especially later the match will be played at Anfield where they will get full support from the fans, although Tottenham is currently 1-0 ahead of Liverpool but I am sure that in the second leg they can turn the situation around and reach the final, while Arsenal have a more difficult situation by catching up 2-0 and playing at  Newcastle home, but if we look at the history and also the mentality that Arsenal has in the Carabao competition, I think they also have a chance to be able to turn the situation around although it may be with difficulty.
