I think it's even more about Liverpool dropping points against Nottingham Forest again next week Tuesday when they travel to Nottingham Forest stadium. Even at home they found it difficult to break Manchester United, I expect a tough game for Liverpool,  mind you, they lost the first fixture earlier this season against Nottingham Forest do not forget in a rush..... Arsenal will be against their london rivals who doesn't get along together  ( Tottenham Hotspur  ) and they will definitely maintain the second spot because I'm certain they'll get all three points against Tottenham Hotspur. The one game left to play as well would be against their rivals Everton,  they won't get it easy during that fixture.
Nottingham are the only team that managed to beat Liverpool this season, it would be good for the intrigue in the Premier League if they did it again. I think it is quite possible, although initially few took them seriously, they were able to prove that they are capable of beating their opponents and if they beat Liverpool the difference between them will be only 3 points. But on the other hand, Liverpool are strong enough to beat any team, so the match should be exciting.

let's see what happens later but the Man city match against West Ham that has happened which was won by Man city shows that Man city has made progress in terms of its performance and of course Pep Guardiola is a professional coach so he will definitely prepare everything so that Man city can rise.

now let's see what happens later and indeed Man city should be able to achieve a good ranking so that they can get tickets to UCL again but considering the current competition there are many good and surprising clubs then it definitely takes extra work to be able to get tickets to UCL. but yes indeed if for example Man city in the upcoming match always does not win when competing then it will definitely be difficult to get tickets to UCL and become champions again. now let's see what happens later but I saw Erling Haaland in his last match showed his classy game and the other city players have also appeared confident I am sure positive changes will occur for Man city.
Sometimes one win can revive the fighting spirit of players who have experienced a decline in self-confidence. And I hope that happens at Man City for the rest of this season. because I think the competition this season has become a little strange when we see Man City slumping quite badly. And actually the previous week Man City managed to beat Leicester and since then I think the confidence of the Man City players has improved again. So it is not surprising that in the match against West Ham we can see Man City winning the match with a big score, namely 4-1.

And next week we will see Man City compete in the FA Cup against Salford City and I think Man City should be favorites and will win the match. And then Man city will play Brentford in the premier league. I'm not sure how to predict this match. But if Man City is in its best performance again then yes Man City will win again. But the most difficult match is probably in the UCL against PSG. Man City and PSG both need full points in this match. And I think it's going to be a game that feels like a Finals game. And I can't wait for it.

if for example Man city continues to decline in performance and continues to fall into it does feel a bit strange because the club that won last season has to slump and drop in ranking. but of course it is not impossible if for example Man city's performance declines but of course I am sure Man city will be able to rise and play well like last season.

indeed we will see the Man city match against Salford in the FA cup and it seems that in that match Man city deserves to win. but what I am waiting for the most is of course when playing against Brentford later and of course if Man city wins I think it is very likely that Man city will be ready to fight again and will compete tightly again with clubs that are ranked high in the EPL. but if you look at H2H of course it is very exciting because Man city won 3 times while Brentford won 2 times so it will definitely compete tightly in this match later this is very exciting. but I am sure Brentford will lose in that match

It is good that Manchester City has started winning their matches again in the Premier League, but they should first play against a strong club in the Premier League and win before I will be fully convinced that they are back to their winning ways. With so many points Manchester City has dropped in the Premier League, it will be difficult for them to catch up with Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table. If Liverpool wins their outstanding match, they will be leading Manchester City with 15 points in the Premier League table, which seems difficult for Manchester City to close in with Liverpool, so Manchester City's target should be how to get to the top four of the Premier League table, which allows them to qualify for the UEFA Champions League competition.
Currently, the position that is most likely to be pursued by Man City is indeed a ticket to UCL, namely in the top 4 positions. Because chasing Liverpool, who is already leading the standings with a big difference in points, will indeed be difficult. In fact, Liverpool has the potential to increase the point difference if they win Liverpool's postponed match.

Talking about Liverpool, don't forget that today Liverpool will play against Tottenham in the EFL semi-finals. And I think Liverpool will most likely win this match.

We saw a surprise in the EFL Cup semi-final match and it was very interesting and exciting. Arsenal lost the match and they are very likely to be eliminated from the semi-finals. Newcastle played strongly and with excitement which resulted in them achieving a good result to qualify for the final. Newcastle are two goals ahead in the first leg of the semi-final, of course they will be even stronger against Arsenal in the second leg to qualify for the final. I think Arsenal may not be able to score as many goals in the second leg so their chances of going to the final are also very low.

It's a signal if Arsenal will be trophyless again this season. The same story happened to them every season. It's hard for them to win the trophy with their current mentality, and the lost against Newcastle proven it.

They're too often depending on their setpiece, but when club has discovered to counter it, they can do nothing. Look at the picture i mentioned above, almost a half of their players lying on the floor.

Also, the moment when Isaack pushed Arsenal's defender to get a space. They know very well how to counter Arsenal.

The better for them to sign Ten Hag, which gave two trophies in two season instead of keep Arteta much longer.

The Magpies have never previously won the competition and have had to wait since 1969 to celebrate any major trophy.
But in Isak they have the form striker in England right now and he rifled home the opener and then helped tee up the second for Gordon.
Arsenal have a mountain to climb when the sides meet for the second leg on February 5 if they are to progress to meet either Tottenham or Liverpool in the final.
The importance of silverware to both clubs was reflected in the line-ups as Mikel Arteta and Eddie Howe named their strongest available teams.
Arteta has brought Arsenal back into contention for Premier League titles in recent seasons, but his only trophy in charge of the Gunners came five years ago by lifting the FA Cup in the early months of his reign.
The home side were able to welcome back Kai Havertz, Martin Odegaard and Gabriel Martinelli from the side that started Saturday's 1-1 draw at Brighton.
But Arsenal's lack of a lethal striker like Isak proved the difference between the sides.
Arsenal had the majority of the ball and the chances but failed to make them count.
Martinelli came closest when he raced onto Leandro Trossard's pass and smashed against the post.
Moments later came the sucker punch. Arsenal, so renowned for their own set-piece threat, allowed a long free-kick into their box to fall at the feet of Isak who fired in off the underside of the bar.
The Swede's 14th goal in his last 15 games took him to 50 in a Newcastle shirt - doing so in five fewer matches than it took the club's record goalscorer Alan Shearer.
Isak had a major role to play in what could be a decisive second goal in the tie just after the break.
This time the Newcastle striker's quick feet allowed him to get a shot off that was parried by David Raya into the path of the onrushing Gordon to fire in the rebound.
Arsenal should still have made their mammoth task for the return leg in Tyneside next month a more manageable one.
Havertz somehow miscued a header wide with the goal gaping to cut the arrears.
Howe replaced Isak and Gordon as Newcastle were happy just to protect their lead in a 5-5-0 formation for the final 20 minutes.
Arsenal, though, lacked the guile to break them down without the injured Bukayo Saka to seemingly extend their wait for Arteta's revolution to deliver another trophy.

In the last 5 matches, Arsenal have drawn 2 matches and only managed to win 3, whereas in the same last 5 matches, Nottingham forest have won all 5, and their next game coming up next week is against Liverpool, this will be a tough match, which I doubt if they can scale through with a win, but if they manage to, then they will overtake Arsenal in the league table, except Arsenal manages to beat Tottenham in their next coming game, then they can both be equal in points again.

But to be more realistic, Nottingham forest may likely lose, or at most, end up with a draw in their coming game with Liverpool.
So, Arsenal still have a better chance of maintaining their second spot on the table for the time being.

Manchester City is recovering because they have lost many points, in my opinion their position is still very vulnerable, especially to catch Liverpool is quite difficult. The most reasonable option for them is to chase the Champions League ticket and bury the dream of the Premier League trophy this season.

I was not surprised by yesterday's match between Arsenal and Newcastle, I knew that Newcastle was going to defeat Arsenal, and immediately after I saw Arsenal like up and the players that started the match I believed that Newcastle could defeat Arsenal, in the match Arsenal only have one big chance and it was the chance that Martinelli miss, Newcastle create chances than Arsenal in the match and that will show you that Newcastle can defeat Arsenal, Arsenal depend on a set piece and corner kick that they use to score goals but Newcastle show Arsenal that they are good in defend.

Arteta is the one to also blame because he is supposed to start the match with a proper striker, Kai Havatz is not a striker and if we look at the game we will know that Arsenal needs a striker that will put pressure on Newcastle's defenders, Gabriel Jesus suppose to start the match yesterday as a striker but Arteta choose Havatz, Havatz miss a good chance that will make Arsenal equalize and Arteta still decide to let him continue playing, Arsenal need to warn Arteta about his job as a coach because the team invests much and they buy players that he needs and still he can't win them any trophy.

I wonder if these "contract" discussions would make it harder for Liverpool to keep doing great. I mean Salah keeps talking about how he is probably out after this season, and that is going to be quite troubled for the team to know that Salah will be gone, plus it will be pretty difficult for Salah to give his 100% all season long, sure he did great so far, but I wonder if he will start to be a bit worse because of this deal, and there are other players too.

Trent for example didn't looked great last game against United, not saying that's about the contract because it could be just one bad game and everyone can have that type of game and that's fine, but this looks like we are dealing with something that is looking quite difficult at the same time. This is why I believe that we need to look at this differently and not really deal with anything all that complicated at all. If we can make this work then we need to focus on how to get better approach.

Patience and hard work are the keys to success.
Arsenal performance in the defeat to Newcastle was good but they did not create any chances to score, although they had 23 shots on goal but only 3 on goal. I watched the game and it was a very exciting game but the experienced Arsenal team could not score any goals. Coach Mikel Arteta complained that the ball floated too much in the air. Instead, he should focus on improving the ability of his players. Newcastle are a great team and they played well and showed their tactical and organized play in scoring goals.
Arsenal players kept the ball in their possession for most of the time but missed most of the scoring chances. If Gabriel Kai Havertz had not missed the goal chances, the result of the game could have been different. However I am hopeful that from this match they will be better prepared for the next match.
I was not at all surprised by Arsenal's defeat against Newcastle. Newcastle's recent form has been on a winning streak. However, in terms of experience, Arsenal had a higher chance of winning. Arsenal didn't play badly in the match; they tried their best with full effort, and in terms of match position and pass accuracy, Arsenal was ahead. But they failed to score. Despite making 23 shots on goal, only 3 of them were on target. Although Arsenal dominated possession, they were completely unsuccessful in creating goal-scoring opportunities.

On the other hand, Newcastle, despite being behind in possession, was better at creating and scoring goals. They took fewer shots, but were able to hit the target. It is surprising that such an experienced team like Arsenal couldn't score or create good chances against Newcastle. Although Arsenal didn't win in Semi-final Leg 1 of 2, they still have another opportunity. Surely, Arsenal will be able to capitalize on this chance.

Liverpool still standing at the top with having 46 points where they still have a match in hand. Besides Arsenal comes to second position with along with 40 points where Nottm Forest has reached to the same points after they defeated Wolves with 3-0 goals but currently they rank as third in the qualifying table due Arsenal has better goal scored and the better goal difference. Although it was a valuable achievement for Nottm Forest who able to scored three goals where they took the control of the Field from beginning, goals scored by M. Gibbs-White at 7' and C. Wood 44 in First half. And after the start of the second half, they didn't give any opportunity to their opponent team Wolves to score a single goal but T. Arsenal's performance has decreased a little after Saka was injured and this is a problem that Arteta may need to overcome. For the second leg Newcastle will be much more favored because being two goals ahead in the first leg will make it easier for them to reach the final and it is much more difficult for Arsenal to get a win if Newcastle plays more defensively. In the Premier League itself, Arsenal will face strong teams in the next two matches and it might make Arsenal a little difficult to achieve the results they want. Arteta is under a little more pressure and if he makes the wrong decision it will make them drop out of the top two positions in the standings.
I just think that after this first leg encounter, Newcastle united is now the clear favourite to progress to the finals of this year EFL cup, though anything can still happen, arsenal has the capacity of turning things around, but it's going to be extremely difficult now that Saka is out injured, and just as you have rightfully said a huge pressure is already on Mikel arteta to deliver the title, so they can't afford falling out of the title race or dropping off to third place, so I don't necessarily think that he is going to prioritize this trophy risk it all over the English premier league title, so in my own opinion, if am an arsenal fan, I would be expecting less from this arsenal team in the reverse fixture of this game because Mikel arteta would not priority this game over the upcoming premier league matches, he wouldn't play his best team, no he wouldn't do that, so the arsenal faithful should expect less from their team in the reverse fixture of this game so as not to feel too disappointed if they were finally knockout of the competition.

With a record of the results of Arsenal match against Tottenham must draw or lose, but i doubt that will happen, my prediction is that Arsenal will win in this match, so Arsenal will remain in position 2 of the standings.

I'm beginning to feel bad for Tottenham Spurs and their manager; they've lost four games in a row, but they'll face Liverpool in the Carabao Cup and Arsenal in their next Premier League game. I am confident that they will lose both matches since they are not at the same level as their opponents. If care is not taken, Tottenham's management could fire Postecoglou and bring in a new manager because their current performance will not get them anywhere this season.
Honestly, the only thing Tottenham Spurs can do at the moment is to finish the remaining matches as much as possible, it is true that in the last four matches they have lost three and won only one and that too against Southampton, we all know it is a very weak club. In the match against Arsenal later despite losing i hope there is no massacre, at least if Tottenham manages to finish the match with a smaller goal difference, that's better.

Of course, United still feel optimistic because the season is still very long. Amorim must immediately seek support from management so that he is given full freedom in this mid-season transfer. In my opinion, the path to Europe is still open even though it is currently very far behind the Champions League zone group. While through the Europa League route, there is still a chance, but it really depends on the improvement of the squad and the improvement of the performance of the Red Devils players. However, if there is no big breakthrough in the mid-season transfer market, there is no possibility for United to continue to develop.

How optimistic could Manchester United be? Having a draw with Liverpool doesn't make them better and saying that there is much time or long  way to go this season when there isn't any much noticeable improvement from Manchester United doesn't look nice, though we can't tell what happens next in soccer events but Manchester have a matter at hand that needed to be trackled and that matter is improving in their performance and making people believe that there is still hope, let's not rely on assumptions, let's analyze with present happenings I mean what we are seeing presently.

Yea the manager should convinced the management on the need to get more good players in this January transfer but I think the management isn't ready for that unless they will have to change their mind, buddy now you're talking, if there aren't change in their performance also if they continue to have a rethink whether to get some players in this transfer and finally may be they decide not to then there is nothing Amorim can do, personally I think Manchester United need a total overhauling of the team, if the keep hoping to get more good results with the current players, there hope may be dashed that's my take on this.

But the problem is that it is also not as easy as imagined. Indeed, when they want to be in the Champions League, PAATI is the only way to Manchester United the most possible is to try to get a trophy in the Europa League so that Loloa can directly without care in the EPL standings. But for the Europa League champions are not easy even though now their position is comfortable in the standings but in the end there are some possibilities that are indeed an obstacle and to get to the final and even champions.

We know that the Europa League has always been filled with champions who are even unexpected even in the last few seasons we can see those who lift the trophy is a dark horse like Villarreal, Frankfurt, Sevilla and even Atalanta. In addition to the Play Off phase and Knock Out Europa League phase will also be faced with several big abundant clubs from the Champions League that we know that in the last few seasons there are always unexpected clubs in Europa League such as Barcelona, Napoli and several big clubs other. So the target to qualify for the Chmapions League relies on champions in the Europa League even though it is possible but it won't be easy.
Of course, United still feel optimistic because the season is still very long. Amorim must immediately seek support from management so that he is given full freedom in this mid-season transfer. Optimistic? with their current condition? I don't know if in the end they still feel optimistic just because the season is still quite long I think they are just too confident with their current condition.

Before they convince themselves and are optimistic with what they are doing now, now they have to try to change their mentality and their new club can be more confident because they only expect a long season and do not improve themselves in the sense that their condition remains the same then in the end there is no change whatsoever from Manchester United.

It is not wrong if they are still quite confident that they can change their fate but in the end it is not easy and they need to do a lot of things because this is not only about confidence but changes that must be made comprehensively so that their performance improves.

Newcastle is not a weak team. We have seen that Newcastle has won consistently in the last few matches of the Premier League. Newcastle has continued to win in the last 6 matches of the Premier League. So Newcastle had the ability to defeat Arsenal. And Newcastle won the match 2-0.

However, Arsenal tried their best to win in this match. Arsenal basically dominated the match. But Newcastle's players were tactical. So despite not attacking much, Newcastle won the match 2-0. Arsenal's players had 70% ball possession and made 23 shots. On the other hand, Newcastle's players made only 7 shots, but Newcastle managed to score two goals. Newcastle's defense played very well in this match. At the same time, their match strategy was also good.

Arsenal are a team that needs trophies I would have expected them to take the English premier league cup very seriously but that's far from the case. Already down by two goals against Newcastle is very embarrassing.
Arteta needs to bring more silver wares to the Emerate and this was a very good chance and right now it's slipping out of their hands.
Kudos to Newcastle United, if they can see this one through it would be 7 straight win which is very impressive for them.
What's wrong with Gunners? What are their weaknesses? Arsenal failed woefully to grab three points from oppositions in first leg. Mikel Arteta is worried because winning is essential for his side and he won't fold his arms and watch his team been knocked out from the EFL Cup, he's opportune to do anything within his reach to reciprocated his energy towards Eddie Howe. Newcastle deliver excellently at Emirates Stadium last night and got away with three points, it was mandatory for the Magpies to grab all three points because they deserved it. They might not be the best team on the pitch against Gunners but they've more concrete concentrated actions towards their oppositions. Newcastle are on winning streaks this season, having 7 straight consecutive wins in a row, it does send a message to everyone about the sudden change of plans of Eddie Howe. Arsenal next oppositions is Manchester united in the FA Cup and we know drastic this game will be for both sides.

Yes, I also didn't expect Arsenal to lose to a team like Newcastle in this match. In fact, if we look at the flow of the match, Arsenal really dominated very well. Arsenal also had a lot of opportunities in this match. But unfortunately, Arsenl was unable to take advantage of all these opportunities into goals. Meanwhile, Newcastle, their performance in this match deserves a thumbs up, especially for their defense. Because in this match Newcastle was really continuously attacked by Arsenal, but because their defense line was really solid, the result was that all these attacks were thwarted by Newcastle's defenders. Apart from that, Newcastle also really had a very good counter-attack strategy in this match, so that the Arsenal players always found it difficult to withstand these attacks. And finally 2 goals were scored by Newcastle players in this match.

Apart from that, if we talk about the upcoming second leg. I also assume that Newcastle has a bigger chance of winning again and qualifying for the final. But we need to remember, if for example Arsenal could play better in the second leg, I think Arsenal could turn the situation around into a victory for their team. Because Arsenal's mistake which was the cause of defeat in the first leg, was clearly caused by carelessness in the defense and also less than optimal use of opportunities.
