Strange to see Gundogan going back to Man City, sometimes it’s not a good idea to go back. He won everything with them, there is nothing new to achieve with them.

Barcelona must be broke and have pleaded with him to leave so they can register Olmo. Barcelona are a joke man.
They are just making plans to get Dani Olmo registered as a player by trying to get rid of players so that the balance sheet can still be repaired even if Dani Olmo comes in Cheesy

This is another ridiculous drama by Barcelona after the many donations made by their fans to the club lol.
But at least they didn't ask Manchester City for a fee because it would be another ridiculousness if Barcelona tried to get money for a move from Gundogan to his former club. Well this is Barcelona's politics and Manchester City are actually too good to give space to them even though it is undeniable that they get benefits for Gundogan's services even though it is only to be a possible option that will be used when unexpected situations only because there are many Manchester City midfielders today who are certainly more prime especially in terms of age.

The problem with the Chelsea club even when the coach has a long term plan for the team to be victorious in the future, you’ll just see the President sacking the coach after just one season flop and that’s not how to built a strong team. You need to have a transitional structure before you can achieve that and if you don’t follow it duly, you’ll cause the team not to rise amongst others in many years to come.

Chelsea’s poor performance have been on for more than two seasons now since the sack of Thomas Tuchel, all the coaches that came after him really did their best but Pochettino was the best man for the job but was sacked just after a season. Now they’re back to square one and need to start building the team again. I hope the same fate of Pochttino don’t happen to Enzo Maresca by end of the season.

There is no emotion in business, a contract is a contract and it will be valid as long as the both parties agreed from the initial plans. You never can tell if Pochettino had an agreement that he was going to put Chelsea in the top 4 or perhaps win the team a Premier League but all I have mentioned, they couldn't did any. You might not really see this in coaches reaction probably because they think the contract might annul and give them another chance.

Sometimes board decision I guess and you can't blame them, invested all you have in a club that used to be many favorite but then became a shit place where al teams can penetrate and break record without them making any progress. This is why I think changes subsequently comes to Chelsea team from players to Coaches.

It would be foolish to expect a better performance from Chelsea. Maybe the team's performance will stabilize a bit. But I don't think Chelsea deserve to be in the top four of the points table at the moment. This club has a lot of internal problems. The management of the club is not experienced and this is their first weakness.

However, this season too, Chelsea will form a squad with a new coach. Looking forward to seeing if Enzo Maresca will make Chelsea stronger again. But the Chelsea team is in a very bad position right now. Rapid improvement is not possible for this team. But if Maresca has long term plan then maybe Chelsea's overall situation will change slowly and we will see stable performance from Chelsea.

Chelsea have just played one game. I think it is too early to say Chelsea will not perform well this season again. As for me, changing the squad and forming another one does not mean much to me, and I don't think it can stop a team from performing well if the coach is experienced and tactical. All they need is proper coaching, and I am sure the players will adapt. In fact, watching the match against Manchester City, I don't think they played that badly, but the issue is that they don't have a good striker. Chelsea had good chances to score, but they just wasted them. I still believe that Chelsea's performance may be better than last season's, but let's see what will happen in their first 10 matches before we start judging them.

Discussing finished matches is a bit boring and more interesting if we discuss upcoming matches giving us the option to choose to bet on the right option. Let's do it.

Upcoming match Fulham vs Leicester. Leicester is currently a hot topic because they managed to hold a team like Spurs. While in terms of player quality Spurs should be better quality but it seems Leicester is not a weak team anymore.
In terms of H2H both teams have almost the same experience. Fulham won 3x and Leicester won 2x, but Fulham is the favorite as the host.
While from the previous appearance Fulham was defeated by Man United without resistance while Leicester managed to get 1 point sharing the score with Spurs.

My prediction is that the possibility of a draw is greater and the best option is to bet on BTTS. Both teams score at least 1 score.

I quite admire the goalkeeper that Fullham had in the previous match against Man United. Because in fact, many times at that time Fullham's defense was always able to be penetrated by Man United's front players. But Fullham goalkeeper Bernd Leno is always a savior. I see this goalkeeper is good at reading the opponent's movements. So he was able to make many rescue actions. Without his dexterity, I think Fullham could have conceded several goals in the match against Man United.

And for the Fullham match against Leicester, I think the result is more likely to be a draw. Maybe if Leicester were the hosts then I would trust Leicester but this time it was Fullham who were the hosts. And by looking at Fullham's previous performance, I think Fullham could even be the favorite in this match. But I also feel there will be a draw in this match. But I still have doubts. And maybe I will trust the home team, namely Fullham, more.

I wouldn't say all coaches after Tuchel at Chelsea did what they could. For example Potter tried to please the players, the fans and the management, eventually he got a reputation as a soft coach who is not listened to by the players and as a result led Chelsea into a deep crisis from which Pochettino brought Chelsea out, but apparently Pochettino was tough enough when it came to transfers and that's why he was sacked. Maresca so far seems to be a tough coach who speaks his mind and doesn't hide anything from anyone.

Recently Maresca honestly said that he doesn't see Sterling and Chilwell as core players and Sterling is likely to be sold quite easily, especially if they set a not very high price for him at 25-30 million, but Chilwell I think will still be on Chelsea's books until he is loaned out.

Done deal! Ilkay Gundogan agrees Man City return from Barcelona

Ilkay Gundogan is set to leave Barcelona after reaching “full agreement” with Manchester City over a return.

The Athletic are reporting that Gundogan will move on a one-year deal, with the option for another 12 months, and will give up the remaining two years of salary at Barcelona.

Gundogan’s third year at the club had been triggered last season when he played more than 60% of the club’s games.

The move sees Gundogan head back to Pep Guardiola’s side after just a year with the Catalan giants after reportedly being told he’s not in Hansi Flick’s plans.

Barcelona were also eager to shift Gundogan to free up some space on the wage bill for the new season.

The Catalans still need to register new signing Dani Olmo and would like to bring in more players to strengthen the squad before the summer transfer window closes if finances allow.

Source link: https://www.barcablaugranes.com/2024/8/21/24225118/done-deal-ilkay-gundogan-agrees-man-city-return-from-barcelona#:~:text=Ilkay%20Gundogan%20is%20set%20to,years%20of%20salary%20at%20Barcelona
Unexpectedly, we will see Gundogan again in the Man City squad. I thought initially that once this player left he would not return to Man City. But now this means that this player has been accepted back by Man City, who will still need this player's services. Even though the contract agreement made only lasts 1 year. but maybe that's still good enough considering this player is no longer young. Gundoga is now 33 years old and yes, that means this player is no longer young and maybe in just the next few seasons he will still be at his best. So it is very natural that the contract that will be agreed is only for 1 season and of course other additional options.

Sterling expressed his displeasure after being left on the bench in the first round match against City, Maresca did not give him the opportunity to play even a few minutes, but he is not the only player who has faced such a problem. And this is not surprising, with such a depth of the squad there will always be unhappy players who will be left out of the game. I see this as a problem, because such a situation will lead to a lot of conflicts in the team, and I am almost sure that players like Sterling will not agree to sit on the bench, and will soon want to leave the team.
Sterling if he is not happy with the coach's decision not to play him in the match against Man City means he is not mature. Every professional player, no matter how old and experienced, must be prepared for the fact that he might not be in the squad on match day. That does not mean their future at the club is in question, or they should protest and leave the club. Every coach must have a strategy when facing an opponent, maybe at that time including Sterling was not the right choice.

As a senior player, he should be wise in seeing the coach's decision so that this does not cause conflict within the team. Sterling should go straight to the next match this season, and he must give a good first impression so that the coach will pay attention so that he can become the coach's main choice. Because no matter how good the coach is, if there is conflict within the team, it is not good for the next matches, let alone competing for the EPL league trophy.

Foden without a doubt had an excellent season last year. He was purely phenomenal and exceptional for Manchester City. This shows that Manchester city is actually a good club. It is not easy to see a club that is been build around one person and someone who also is not the second top man still made his way to the top.

Just imagine KDB being the top man, and Haaland being the second top man and yet, Foden had his way to win the PFA award. If he should remain consistent, he could achieve same fit this season.

Fidel did a great job last season and I think his performance is even better than what Haaland, and the kind of players surrounding foden are behind his success because no too much stress and he plays comfortably with stress since all our players are excellent players, so playing for Manchester City you won't have problems with playing with very poor players. Pep won't bring you to that club if he does not see anything in you because pep wants a long lasting players not just players but those once with talent, reason been that pep will always look at the future and to me all our players are good.

KDB is the main man that everyone knows and can testify because he gives more assist and score more goals his a multi talented players, Foden was good during, last season and scored good goals, and foden will do more this season, I have trust is foden, and he will be consistent and will be able to win PFA award, with time he will win a lot of award.

Tottenham dominate the possession but it was very meaningless thou. They supposed to beat teams like Leicester city if they really want to be challenging in the top four of this league. They were just like last season that they will dominate the game but fail to score to seal the game and concede unnecessary equalizer then try to rally when it's too late. Despite their possessions, Leicester could have won that game had it been they were clinical upfront because they were the side who had displayed aggression towards the goal post. Allowing a team they should have put away ages ago to come back into the game is not a good way to start the season.
Like how Mourinho once said, they can take the ball home if they want, Leicester will take the points. It was a tie in the end and not a win for Leicester City anyway, Tottenham got point too and that's good enough start. I believe that Leicester City coming back from the championship made people think that they are not good enough, but the reality is that they had some good periods last season there, and if they can do as well here, they would not be a relegation level team, they could actually finish top half of the table this season.

This will not be easy and a lot of people question their ability to do that well but I believe they have a chance. It's not an easy task to go to premier league and stay there, hell this team won it and still relegated after a few seasons, so it's a tough job to stay if you do not have a lot of money but they have a good squad right now and could do very well this season. I will be watching them play very closely without a doubt.

I agree that Manchester United is the favorite for tonight's match against Fulham. They have a strong team even with some players injured and have a good chance of winning. I also think there will be more than two goals in the game, so an over 2.5 bet could be a good prediction. I believe Manchester United will come out on top tonight.

The bookmakers themselves say it, if you look at Manchester United they really give a figure that makes it clear that they are the favorite of many. Then in football nothing can be said, even a small team can suddenly change and play spectacular matches. Like Ranieri's Leicester years ago.

I think Leicester are hoping for three points but considering the opponent is strong, it will count for them. Tottenham is one of the best teams in the Premier League. Leicester, who have just been promoted to the Premier League, should consider themselves lucky to not lose in their first match. At least they managed to leave the match with a point. As for Jamie Vardy, this will probably be his last season and he will wear the same team's jersey when he retires from football.

It makes sense, they get 1 point from a match against one of the strong teams in this league, after all from the statistics they shouldn't even get 1 point and 3 points are more deserved by Tottenham. Will this season be Jamie Vardy's last? i just heard about it, can you confirm with legit news?

The mistake of the club management is that they want instant results like winning the EPL in the first season. This is what I saw in the previous seasons. In the first match, Chelsea actually had quite good statistics. They had ball possession and shots on target that were not much different from City. But City is still not their level. City is too superior for Chelsea. I hope the club management can give Maresca the opportunity to build a squad in the long term. Hopefully Maresca can make Chelsea better this season. At least I expect Chelsea to get a slot to the Europa League next season.

Matchday 1 is over two days ago and the total number of goals is only 21. I just noticed that the total goals for this season's matchday 1 are lower compared to last season's Premier League. Last season, there were about 27 goals.
Do you think there will be more than 25 goals or under in matchday 2? Usually, matchday 2 has higher goals. It might be a good idea to bet on a total goal over 1.5.

Anyway, there are some contests here in the forum about total goals and goal times in the Premier League, so if anyone doesn't know yet, you can go to the games and rounds sub board in the gambling section.

I never expected Sterling to be on the bench in the match. I don’t know why Enzo Maresca didn’t give him the opportunity to play in the match, maybe if he was allowed to play, the result might have been a different one. If I am to be honest, I never expected that dominance from Chelsea in the match, and I was expecting the match to be easier for Manchester City, but Chelsea gave them a difficult moment. Chelsea created some chances, if a player like Sterling was in the match, maybe he would be able to convert some chances into goal.

Seriously, Enzo Maresca should just start making use of Sterling, he shouldn’t just be left sitting on the bench without being given the opportunity to play.

because such a situation will lead to a lot of conflicts in the team, and I am almost sure that players like Sterling will not agree to sit on the bench, and will soon want to leave the team.
If he isn’t given the opportunity to play, then the time will come when he won’t have a choice than to leave to a club that value him, and maybe after leaving Chelsea, they will regret losing him.

The second half has just kicked off. I’m expecting more goals in the second half but not more than three goals in the favour of Tottenham Hotspur. When you look at the first half stats, it is no surprise that Leicester City are losing the game. Tottenham controlled the game in the first half, they dominated the ball possession and were clinical in front of goal. It is one goal separating the two teams at the moment, can Leicester City come back into the game?
We have just few minutes to the end of the game, the score remains 1-1 because Jamie Vardy leveled the score for Leicester City in the 57th minutes of the match and they maintain their defensive quality to avoid more goals in the game because Tottenham is completely dominating the game and might win in the final minutes if they are lucky.

I was doubting Leicester City’s quality because they change coach and some of their players left them after they won the Championship under the management of Vincent Kompany, now I will not underrate them and they are out of my relegation team plan because with the number of players they have lost is much, and yet, they are playing very well.

I wasn't aware that Vardy is still playing there as I thought I read some article where he was considering to step down, but there he is. What a legend that guy is for Leicester City. There aren't a lot of players who are successful like him and accept to be relegated with a club, go through all the mess and bring the club back up into the Premier League. That's some real character and now he is still scoring against teams like Tottenham. If he plays a good season this might not even be his last year at Leicester City.

Game is finished at 1-1 and Vardy scored the decisive goal for Leicester. What a great story that is and yes, he is one of these players that I feel happy for when they still score. To not lose this game is a good start for them as the truth probably is that they will face a very tough season. Tottenham should have won this one as they have been in the driving seat almost the entire game. Is Tottenham missing some players currently as I am not familiar with all the names?
Tottenham  football team could win this match but their players didn't perform well in the last and we saw an ordinary performance by Tottenham team. They have to play excellent to win the match against good teams,So they should prepare well for that kind of situation. They should also make some changes and they can take a chance and they can pick up the dug out players and may be they will perform well in next matches. They should give rest to the players which have not good body language because good body language exert pressure on opponent team. If Tottenham team want to win next matches they need good attackers and they have to prepare good attackers and I think hard work is everything and if these players did work hard ,they will be successful in future.

You shouldn't rush into conclusions on the teams that will finish on top four this season because only one match has been played and Chelsea played with the best team in EPL and defending champions for 4 years, while Manchester united played with an average club which they found it difficult to find the back of the net till 80+mins.

This is why I will not say that Chelsea will fail again this season because I never expected them to win City. The only problem I see in the team is weak Jackson that is not smart and sharp and I don't know why they are giving him that role as a striker when is has no idea of what to do with the ball. I believe Chelsea would win their next game.

Since Chelsea faced a powerful team that had won the league for four straight years and there was a lot of hype about Chelsea because of their new signing players, you would think that Chelsea would perform better this season. On the other hand, Manchester United faced an average club and struggled to score early because they lacked a striker, Ten Hag started Bruno as a striker and wasted many of their opportunities, If Zirkzee had started the game, I think Manchester United would have scored more than one goal.

In addition, this wasn't the same Manchester City that played against Man United the previous week in the Community Shield, Man United drew against Manchester City, and they performed well, but they lost in the penalty shoot, It is clear that Chelsea will not improve from last season's, they still rely on Jackson as a striker because of his lucky goals last season.

Chelsea used to be my favorite team on Premier league but with how they have developed in last few years, they are now a mid grade team that are never the contender for the title but are always out of relegation zone. Champions League is a pipedream for Chelsea. They used the transfer window and money to buy average players and average coach to create an average team.
Manchester City is definetly still the top team with top players and coaching staff but they'll be haunted by the charges whole season. The games would have been more interesting if the charges were settled. Missing a season would be better than being haunted of prospects of giving everything to game and risk being striped off of the title at last. The table would star becoming clearer from September.

True, for Guardiola the Community Shield was not such an important trophy, he demonstrated this when Silva and De Bruyne started this match on the bench. With Chelsea everything was different, here the optimal lineup came out for the match, although Guardiola said that not all the players were ready for the start of the season and this was evident from their performance. City always start not in the best form but this is part of Guardiola's strategy, and Maresca has a large number of players, it seems that he does not know how to assemble a team, too much choice can sometimes be even worse.
