Ronaldo contract is strictly with the management and way beyond ole's control. It could be so obvious that ole doesn't want Ronaldo. Cr7 recommending Zidane might also be a form of treat to Ole. But for me neither Ole nor Zidane might deliver united. If I was to suggest with the current squad Manchester united has a defensive midfield or attacking midfield formation is all the need depending on which team the take up

Real Madrid and Juventus were playing a 4-3-3 formation because they needed their two sided midfielders to help their wingers defensively since they don't track back. Rashford, Greenwood and Ronaldo leaves a hole in the team and the two Central midfielders can help in everything.

There are lot of players in Liverpool who can be played apart from the first team as we see in PL. There is Minamino, Origi and in defence they can play Tsimikas and so. In EFL Cup focus of the manager is to usually play the players who doesn't gets much chances and these kind of matches also works out as an opportunity to maybe catch some eye of the manager.

I think Klopp might put 1-2 senior level players just in case to put a check and lead the team.

Everybody is so supportive of Ronaldo because he scored a few important goals, but he does not work for the team at all. And that's ok if you have 1 player like that in moments of games, but not if you have 2 players like this (Fernandes does this as well) throughout the WHOLE game, if you do teams like Liverpool will rip you apart. This season because of Ronaldo he dropped the diamond to accommodate him. I think he needs to sacrifice some players in order to find balance.

Finding a replacement for Ole is also not an easy matter. There are many coaches available at the moment, but not all of them are good. If the only choices are Zidane and Conte, I think Conte is more suitable for Man United because he has handled Chelsea, so he already knows the style of play in the Premier League.

Zidane is a good coach, and he won a lot of trophies with Real Madrid, but he has no experience coaching the England team. However, if Man United decides to sign Zidane, it's still a better decision than keeping Ole.

Conte he uses 3:5:2 formation or a 5:3:2 formation depending on how tough the game lies but for Zidane his best formation is 4:3:3 and wouldn't be needed for united amidst few strickers
