I agreed with you here as a keen follower of EPL it is often difficult for a title holder to defend their title recall when Liverpool won it last it became very difficult for them to defend it despite winning with with a massive 99 points and incredible 44 matches unbeaten runs, last season they were thoroughly beaten even by relegation battling team like Fulham though they may attribute it to injuries of some their key players, I also expect other EPL clubs apart from Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool and Leicester City give Man City a run for your money thus they wouldn't find things easy this season well I expected them to rise up to the challenge because it is not going to be business as usual this season gonna be quite competitive as far as EPL title is concerned.
Anything can happen in football and we might be surprised after what we didn't believe came true in the end. Because football is a team game then for any team who can play well and win as many match as possible then they will be possible to win the title including the current defending champion team.
I don't think there's anything wrong with supporting Manchester City to win the EPL in the next 2-3 season because since Guardiola arrived, EPL title have become commonplace. Now that I believe Guardiola's men have the mentality to win title, their failure in the UCL final must be corrected for the 2021/2022 season.
It's just that not everything depends on Manchester City and Pep Guardiola. I don't deny the financial strength of the owners of Manchester City, the work of the selection department and the coaching talent of Guardiola, which allows the club to be one of the favorites for the league title, but still the Premier League is competitive enough for Manchester City to win the title of champion three or four years in a row. Such stories usually occur in championships, where one of the teams overwhelmingly surpasses the other teams due to its composition, the level of its game and in financial terms, but it seems that we can't say this about England and its championship yet.

You really think it's going to be like that about Manchester City? Well, it is one of the possibilities but then, Manchester City is a team with the plan and they are more than capable of doing whatever they want in the EPL. Don't forget that few seasons ago, they were almost unrecognised as per threat and impact wise on the league but after a few big spending 9n transfer with Pep for an experienced coach and management, they managed to be a fierce team in the EPL and have a better chance each season at the title than most teams.

Here they are again, have lost a  striker in the person of Kun Aguero and are in to make there money work for them on his replacement with Harry kane. Funny enough, it's them taking out players from the same league and this is reuniting Harry Kane with Sterling. The race for the title for Manchester City has very much began.

In this season, Manchester City are highly the favourite team for the title of course. But this time, I expect a bigger competition between them and the big clubs like Manchester Utd, Chelsea and Liverpool. This time, it may not be that easy for City to reach the title. They actually had some difficulties at the beginning of the last season. But they made an insane comeback and won the title comfortably.
Manchester City may win the EPL trophy this season. Although, is won't be easy because other big club are building their squads with young talented player. And also Manchester City have to sign Harry Kane to replace Sergio Aguero. They really tried last season, despite their difficulties they faced as the beginning of the season, they bounce back, with massive force and won the EPL trophy. I expect them to do more better this season.
Why are you guys saying Manchester City to be the favorites?? Do you have information that makes them the team?
Chelsea a team that beat them twice and denied them their first UEFA trophy could be on that list, Leicester City have made some reinforcements which should put them in a position to contest not forgetting Manu and Liverpool.
Honestly the best time to get an idea of who is likely to win is in December around boxing day, not when the league isn't even started .

Chelsea are moving from Haaland and now they are focusing on Inter Milan officials Belgian striker, Romelu Lukaku, if any club wants to sign him this summer.
And according to the Italian newspaper “Toto Sport”, Lukaku is still on Chelsea’s radar, who will make an offer for him if he fails to include the Norwegian Erling Haaland, the star of Borussia Dortmund.
The newspaper pointed out that Nicolo Barilla, Alessandro Bastoni and Romelu Lukaku, the stars of the Nerazzurri, are difficult to touch during the current Mercato, but the only case that might make Inter think about selling Lukaku, is the arrival of an offer exceeding 120 million euros.

There are many teams who have acquired some good players like Leicester, Aston Villa so I expect things to tighten up a bit in this upcoming season.
There has been a lot of transfers going on in the premier right now Leicester City as usual are making good signing to keep up their top 4 fight next season, Aston Villa we're fantastic last season I think they want to keep the same momentum this coming season. Manchester City and Chelsea who are currently on low for now, I think they both have the team they needed for the upcoming season with just the striker role to fill, Aguero left a hole which they need to fill in someone else and Pep main target is Kane who his value was raised from £100m to £150m by Daniel Levy who's looking for all means to keep him for another year.

Then we have Chelsea looking for a striker to fill in the gap that Giroud left behind and their primary target is Haaland, they want to get the deal done by all means before thinking of another position right now.

I didn't know Kane was finally let go, it is great to see that because dude deserves to leave for a much better club for sure, Spurs is just not enough for him and even though he has been there all his life, dude deserves a chance for bigger things, he is just a bigger player than the club. I do not think that United is a problem, they already spent so much on Sancho that I do not think they have what it takes to offer Kane something, they are probably running out of money at this point.

However Chelsea is another story, and Haaland is a whole another story, Chelsea was willing to get Haaland, but Dortmund was not willing to sell, same goes for City I assume, if Haaland is not for sale then Chelsea and City will fight for Kane a lot, if Dortmund decides to sell then one of the teams will get Haaland and other will get Kane for sure.
Dortmund probably will not sell Haaland until the transfer window closes despite the many attractive offers that tempt them. Haaland is a quality player and is one of the star players who are projected to fill the attack line of Europe's top team so it is possible for Dortmund to wait for offers that are difficult to refuse from these team. Chelsea and Manchester City may be able to afford it, but Dortmund are sticking with it. If Haaland will be sold, I want Haaland to agree to play at Manchester City, it really depend on how Dortmund decide in the end.

I don’t know if you’ll read the report or no but Levy has finally agreed to sell Kane, and now the only question is how much can City pay for him or will Chelsea or Manchester United bid for him.

Furthermore ManCity player who left the club has also confirmed that they’re signing a world class striker, so it looks like either Kane or Halland is coming.

I said this because I saw them playing superbly in the last season. I know that Chelsea defeated them multiples times in the last season. But it was not enough for winning the league title in the end. The EPL is a really hard league and it's not easy to be really consistent. But Manchester City succeeded in being really consistent and had an incredible unbeaten streak.

Maybe I'll be surprised and they won't be able to make it to the title this time. I'd really like to see a different team becoming the champions.

Not only that Chelsea have also built the same squad with talented players I don't think Mancity will win the title this season but some also want to get it I think the competition will be tougher because they have prepared it.

In the EPL, there are many great coaches, Klopp, Tuchel and Guardiola, for sure they will build a useful team to raise in the EPL championship ambitions, because it is not easy that several important roles must also be prioritized, especially in formation tactics.

Are they not ? Cmmon. I can understand Pep has tendency to overthink sometimes but in the long run he is a good manager. City is as favourites as other big clubs in PL are. It's a long race and at any point things can turn around in the title race. IIRC, last season's boxing day it was Liverpool or Spurs up on the table but fall apart after that.

There is no way that Sterling would be given to Tottenham, you are taking a step back if you do that, and yeah getting Kane is great and all but if you are giving your best players for it then you are not improving at all.

I would say that a huuuuge amount of money could be done by City because they have so much money, and they had this financial fair play problem that caused them to be banned but then pandemic happened and it was postponed I suppose or maybe even cancelled, so they can use all that leftover from those time till now to buy Kane, they really have a lot. They can afford as much as 300 million, not that they will pay that, but they can "afford" that much, so that means it is all about how much Spurs want for Kane and how much City is willing to pay, it is not about if he will leave or not because it is obvious that they could definitely get him if they want to.

I mentioned this in another thread, it is not just Sterling, but their best creative force last season apart from KDB (Mahrez) who is still at he peak of his power. Sterling still young also Jesus. To give all of those in return for another striker who always gets injured does not seem like good business for them,,, but of course sounds good to me. As much as I love Kane, if he wants to go, he better.
Different position Sterling and Harry Kane then both player can play on the same time like England on EURO 2020, I think if Manchester City want get Harry Kane is good because they not extended with Sergio Aguero and left one forward Gabriel Jesus, but I heard rumors Gabriel Jesus will barter for Harry Kane as deal with Tottenham Hotspur, better sell Jesus than Sterling because I see Sterling is best creative player for Manchester City.

Smart is not enough, there must be skills
I did not think they would ever consider it but there's a possibility that both players and staff of PL clubs will have to be vaccinated. If that happens, well, good for us fans I guess Grin
As long as the vaccination has no side effects then I think it's fine for the staff and especially the players.
But don't the players agree with this that there is a vaccination for all the other players? Surely someone will consider it

Meanwhile, Son has signed a contract extension with Spurs until 2025, meaning that Tottenham secured him throughout his best footballing years. Great news for all Spurs fans, I thought he'd wait a bit and decide to leave as well if they sell Kane.
Well I heard the news Son has wanted to be at Spurs for a long time so that the contract was extended he was a very important figure as a player who contributed greatly to Spurs.
Hopefully no shocking news and I hope Kane can stay with Son too.

It's going to be interesting to see if Man City will rely on Gabriel Jesus as lone striker next season or they are going to back him with top signing.
I don't think that City would go into next season with just Gabriel Jesus as their only striker, he is not a bad striker, but he is not a top quality attacker either; and then again I know Pep won the league last season without a real marksman upfront, but surely they must seek reinforcement in the striking position, and I think the main reason why Pep didn't really field a striker too much last season is cause Kun was mostly injured and Jesus isn't too good. Having said that, City also need to win the title that has eluded them for so long, and that's the CL, and I think that they'd need a born scorer if they are to achieve that.

I also don't think that City will content themselves with only Jesus as a striker. They are getting really close to ending the Harry Kane deal successfully. They will pour a lot of money for him but I think it's absolutely worth it. Kane is one of the greatest strikers now. I can't even imagine him at City.

Yes nothing is a done deal yet, still in negotiations and Kane signaled that he would be happy to get the opportunity to leave the club at the right conditions for all parties of course. The deal that was brought up now with four players for Kane also sounds crazy to me, especially the fact that Sterling (allegedly) is perhaps part of that quartet. Sterling had quite the low for some time, but he fought back and is now a very good player in my opinion. Let's see if this rumor is true or not, we will soon find out!
In the current conditions, a deal with the involvement of other players from the uncompromising position of Daniel Levy looks most likely, because the requested 150 million pounds already in this transfer window is thought to be too large a sum even for a rich club like Manchester City. Tottenham itself needs to be strengthened and is looking for players in the center and right flank of the defense, and perhaps the option with an additional exchange could well interest the club. There are no other options with the participation of other clubs for the transfer of Kane at the moment and is not expected. Kane would like to go to Manchester City and the Manchester club itself is interested in this. Now we need to interest Tottenham as well Wink
