Liverpool's alive, confirmed! It's gonna be a point by point challenge against Chelsea!
1 point may be enough for Chelsea to keep the fourth place but this means the blues can't lose a single game until the end because Liverpool will win every remaining game.
Yepp !! when you look at the League ranking table, with only two rounds remaining at the end of the season.
Tomorrow Chelsea will host Leicester_City and whatever the result Liverpool is the first to benefit from it !!
After the dramatic victory for Liver yesterday, it made sure that there is nothing taken for granted especially when on paper is an easy match, and therefore the chances are equal between the three clubs to win only two seats in the Champions League .
My prediction for Chelsea and Leicester match is we going to see both teams to score since in the cup final Chelsea got chances but didn't score while Leicester have been showing strength upfront
How much in the game as in life depends on just one moment. Just imagine what everyone would be talking about now if Alisson had not scored his magic goal in the 95th minute and how the mood of the Liverpool fans immediately changed Wink Liverpool were very lucky yesterday, and also lucky that Leicester and Chelsea play each other, another question is that Liverpool need to win their matches more confidently, because next time the defenders will be more closely watching Alisson, who came into the penalty area, and not as the number 5 West Brom slept through the moment. I think the Chelsea-Leicester game will be a draw.

I think this is the right time for Chelsea to avenge the defeat a few days ago the advantages of playing at home should encourage them to be more aggressive
So I don't think the position in the standings will change, Chelsea 4 and Liverpool 5 while Tottenham is out

I think there is still confidence among fans to see the fact that Liverpool have managed to qualify for the Champions League next season regardless of what scenario they will get. If I can choose, then I want Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool to qualify for the Champions League next season. This will be a strong candidate to overthrow the domination of other countries such as Spain.

...It is only the winners of the Champions League who get a direct entry into the group stages.
Thanks for the confirmation.

...I don't get it as why Sheffield United needed to win yesterday night.
They don't need the points but I don't see why they shouldn't play to win. Are you saying they should give their opponent a free pass since they were already relegated? I'm sure the league wouldn't want to see something like that happening. That is like selling the match.

Maybe Chelsea is accumulating all their strength for the Champions League final, or Chelsea is now a very unstable team. If Chelsea make such a poor performance against Manchester City in the Champions League final, they will never be able to win.

There is no point to focus on CL Final because what matters now would be to get top 4 atleast. CL Final is on 29th and the last two matches for Chelsea would be on 18th and 23rd and both of these matches would serve as a good practice round for Chelsea

For Sheff United, they have been under immense pressure all season, with the risk of relegation. But now relegation is no longer a risk, it's a definite fact. So it doesn't matter whether they lose now, the fact is already determined, and the pressure is off.

Risk ? There is never a risk for Sheffield. The amount of money from finishing in the top spot in Championship is much lower than finishing 20th in EPL and by getting into EPL this season, Sheffield has banked quite some good amount. This is the reason why some of the newly promoted teams dont take this thing seriously by improving the teams because all they ever want are slices of money from EPL sponsorship

There is a chance that all 3 of them make it. Leicester beats or even gets a draw against Chelsea to qualify, Liverpool win both their matches and put Chelsea on 5th spot. However, Chelsea also has to play in the Champions league final. Where, if they win, they will be automatically qualified into the next years Champions League.
Isn't it the case that Liverpool also qualifies for the CL as fifth, since CL finalists ManCity and Chelsea are already qualified for the CL via the league, so another team from England will automatically be qualified?
Has the rule been changed to include the finalist for automatic qualification in the group stage? I thought that's only reserved for the winner.

PL representatives will remain four if either of the finalists win and still finish top four. In short, LFC has no other way but to overtake Chelsea or Leicester if they want a spot in the UCL.
It is only the winners of the Champions League who get a direct entry into the group stages. Initially there used to be a clause that only 4 teams can participate from a league meaning if Chelsea had won CL and were lets say lower than 4th in EPL.. the 4th rank in EPL would be kicked out of the champions league and Chelsea even though they arent top 4, get a chance to join group stages of Champions league. Last this happened was in 1012, when Spurs finished 4th in the EPL and Chelsea were 6th but surprising everyone by winning the Champions League and hence Kicking Spurs out of their Champions league spot.

Don't you guys find it funny that a relegated team like Sheffield United wins against a team which need the win as their last hope for the last place in Europa League which is Everton?I don't get it as why Sheffield United needed to win yesterday night.

I think it happens quite often. In general you don't want to play teams who have just been relegated, just like you don't want to play teams who have just changed manager.

For Sheff United, they have been under immense pressure all season, with the risk of relegation. But now relegation is no longer a risk, it's a definite fact. So it doesn't matter whether they lose now, the fact is already determined, and the pressure is off. I think it's precisely because it doesn't matter that they were able to win.

I am still surprise that Chelsea lose the FA cup to Leicester. I mean, Chelsea was suppose to win the match, but Leicester prove to the world that they are not a weaker team. I believe they will also beat Chelsea in their match tomorrow, which will create chance for Liverpool to get into the Champion League zone, because Liverpool are a point behind Chelsea.
Chelsea's only hope for the season is winning Champion League final against Man City, but it won't be an easy match for them.
Chelsea have lost their last two matches. They lost 1-0 to Arsenal and 1-0 to Leicester. Congratulations Leicester, they did something impossible thing that which world didn't expect. Respect to Brendan Rodgers, this guy can patiently build a winning team. Also, this outcomes implies alot for the Champion league finals. Thomas Tuchel will do his homework preparing for Man City. I keep thinking about whether by any opportunity Pep will release it. He is watching Chelsea performance closely.

Leicester basically just have to beat Chelsea to confirm their Champions league spot. Where as, Chelsea have to beat Leicester and Aston Villa away to confirm their Champions league spot. Liverpool have a great chance of taking that 4th spot as current 3rd and 4th have a tough draw ahead.

Obviously nothing is guaranteed, LFC still have to take care of business against Crystal Palace and Burnley.  On paper it looks like they're a shoe-in, but this is the Premier League and anything can happen.  For example; your season can look like it's all but over until a miraculous stoppage time goal from your goalie keeps your hopes and dreams alive.

LFC is in a great spot, however.  If they do take care of business, either Chelsea or Leicester will have no choice but to help them out.

I am sure Liverpool can pass Burnley on the road, this is indeed a challenge, sometimes even ordinary teams always make it difficult for Liverpool when they want to get past him to enter CL but believe that the Liverpool players will concentrate fully in the last two games so that Klopp will go all out to continue to do the best for the players.

LFC is just waiting for who will slip it means losing this week and look at Leicester for yesterday's victory in the FA they were able to win even though they survived to the full and maybe in this match it will also be like that and Aston Villa the last determination.

Even if Liverpool win the remaining 2 games, it does not guarantee that they will qualify for CL next season. Lets say they win the 2 last games and finished with 69 points and at the other side, Leicester get 1 lose and 1 win on their 2 last games. Means that their final points will be the same 69, so goal difference will take it role to decide which team qualify for the CL. What Liverpool needs to do in their last 2 game is to win it all with good goal difference. Liverpool will have bigger chance to qualify if Leicester win against Chelsea or the game ended with a draw.

It should be like that, but if you see Leicester's opponents in the next two matches are Chelsea and Tottenham, it will be difficult for Leicester to add points to their goal difference. Especially if what you assume really happened, where Leicester experience 1 win and 1 lose in the next matches, then when they lose, the points from their goal difference will decrease.

But just to be safe, Liverpool do have to win in the next two matches with a big goal difference.

The goal difference between Liverpool and Leicester is the same... which means that Liverpool's fate is in their own hands.
If Liverpool win, then they will qualify for the Champions League no matter what happens in the Chelsea vs Leicester game.
You're right, mate. Whatever the result of the match between Chelsea and Leicester, if Liverpool can get the full points against Burnley, then Liverpool will move up to 4th place but who will qualify for the Champions League, still depends on the results of the 38th matches. So if Liverpool want to qualify for the Champions League, then they have to win in the remaining two games.
